  • In this episode, we travel to the Yogi Jellystone Luray in Virginia. This was a last minute change of plans as we were supposed to be visiting a state park. So the kids were in for a surprise. #RRL

    Thanks for this video. We are staying at Jellystone Luray this weekend and it was good to see the park. Happy about the flag policy.

      I think you will enjoy it! It is a bit crowded but that’s to be expected at campgrounds. Glad the video was helpful☺️🏕♥️

    We’ve been to parks (mainly KOAs) that don’t have a policy on flags and other types of paraphernalia. We just keep our distance and understand that everyone has what they believe in and who they support.
    I will tell you that you two are really motivating me to get the rig out of the driveway for some weekend trips!!

    I can’t believe the line to get into the other campground was that long, jeez! I love the flag restriction so everyone can have a peaceful camping experience.

      The lines to get into Shenandoah National Park, and there are several entrances, are outrageously long in October during peak leaf-peeping season. Best to hit it up or the Blue Ridge Parkway during the week if possible if you would like some solitude.

      That line was absolutely INSANE 😕

    Welcome to the strange addiction of RV ing! Enjoyed the video so much! Would love to know if you have site recommendations at Jellystone? We are planning a trip there this summer. Thanks for the great video!

      Awesome question! I think that will depend on your preferences. I’ve added a link to the map in the description box. If you stay all the way to the back where we stayed at Site 87, you will notice on the map that there are only three spots on that road. This was a more rustic area with more wiggle room. You can also see that it’s the farthest from the amenities/activities. For us, we preferred the wiggle room. If you look at the other sites, you’ll notice that they are much tighter BUT some of those sites are pretty pimp with concrete pads, pull through options and fancy fire pits. The other thing to keep in mind is that they don’t allow outside golf carts so you will have to rent theirs for $50+ per day, ride a bike, or take the 5-7 minute walk to the front if you stay in the back where we stayed.
      Hope this helps!

      It does thank you. I am a geek when it comes to picking a site lol! We usually prefer state parks but want FHU and stuff to keep our teenagers from griping too much Lol! If y’all ever make your way south, lmk. We camp all the time in SC and frequently in GA and NC.

      Did you happen to notice what sites 58-69 were like?

    • @RelativelyRichLife
      @RelativelyRichLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theterrytrailertrash yes they were nice. They were also a bit easier to access than our site. You can see site 58 at 15:40. Too bad the video ended there because we walked right passed the rest of those sites right after that 😏

    Please advise how you got to use your drone, they were very adamant to me on absolutely no drone use, thank you.

      Tbh, I can’t recall the circumstances at this particular park but sometimes it’s been helpful just to ask for permission even if their policy states no drones. They will sometimes approve it over certain areas of the property.

    We've been to this Jellystone twice in June of 2018 and 2019. It's a great place for families. It can be very crowded but our experience there is that everyone is looking to chill out and the staff works very hard to keep things running smoothly. The water park is hard to beat and there is quite a bit included in your camping fees. We opted not to go in 2020 because Covid had shut so much down for them ammenity wise in the early summer. Hoping to head back soon.

      @RelativelyRichLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! It’s such a nice park. We really didn’t get to experience any of the water parks last year because of Covid. Can’t wait for this pandemic to go away. Over it!!!😒

    Beautiful campground guys. I know those National parks get very busy line starts at like 5am sometimes. I haven't had to deal with a unlevel site like this but thanks for the advice on the WDH. Ill remember that for future trips. Safe travels.
