Guess the brewery as i like trying different sake. I actually got a bottle that comes close to a good woody armangac or light whisky in taste.
That view from Rokko was amazing

Kobe is the best city in japan for sightseeing. but a lot of foreigner tourists dont go there or just eat kobe beef. there are tasty food, the beach, beautiful architecture, hot spring, chinatown, beautiful mountains and city view, aqualium, bay area, waterfalls, flower garden, art museum.

I was preparing my work on the laptop and left the video playing on the phone (still in front of me) so i wasn't looking the whole time but just hearing your descriptions was bringing up the images in my mind!

We stayed in Osaka and Kobe is definitely worth doing day trips to....we had an affordable set lunch at Kobe Steakland and an expensive dinner at Tanryu

  • @jc3drums916
    @jc3drums916 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

I didn't spend much time in Kobe, but I remember Steakland was quite good, and spending too much time chatting with a couple of guys working at a used classical record shop in Chinatown was one of my fondest memories of my Japan trip.
That steak sandwich with cheese was essentially a fancy Philly cheesesteak in a pita, although putting the cheese on the outside was a strange choice.

I think I would have had a rare Kobe Beef Burger with cheese. That Chinatown looks awesome, usually means cheap eats can be found. WOW what was the red building you walked by that looked like a huge salt shaker??? Amazing views from the boat. Love fire, Your face reaction said it all eating Kobe steak. Amazing night view. I would take the 10 min cable car. Absolutely looks like no nightlife like Osaka, Specially Tokyo. Absolutely love exploring and street food. I have always wanted to go in a hot springs. Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish

Kobe beef looks delicious! Spider-Man was nice surprise. I just remembered that Kobe was open for trade with the west (1853). And this is probably reason for existing western style buildings. Night view and evening dinner feels really amazing. Nice brewery tour!

  • @TitillatingCosplay

On my trip to Japan I made sure to spend a day in Kobe just for the beef and the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum. My dad's a retired carpenter so I grew up around hand tools and found the museum to be INCREDIBLY beautiful and interesting! I would recommend it for anyone also fascinated by the country's old wooden architecture as you'll really get an appreciation for the shrines and buildings and how they were made!
Sadly it was very stormy the afternoon I arrived and so outside of the museum and dinner I didnt really get to see or do much. Had a couple hours the next morning to stroll for a bit and it was such a beautiful and sunny day! If I ever go back to Japan I am going to make sure to spend a couple of days in just Kobe itself because I absolutely loved what little I saw of the city and I want to see more! It felt like the perfect blend of smaller town cozy but with plenty to see and do!

Whats really kinda missing in that list is the Nunobiki Herb Gardens. (but the middle of winter isnt the best time for that i guess ;) )
You can walk there (and pass Nunobiki falls) by a trail starting next to Shin-Kobe's Shinkansen station, or take a ropeway up from there. Additionally you can then hike from there to Mount Rokko, enjoy the evening view and then take the cable car down there ;)

the onsen with western style rooms was my favorite, and the fact there is an iron hot spring and a silver was fascinating, one thing I would like to see the channel dive in, is for onsen or areas where tattoos and family friendly hot springs as well as the etiquette to enter them, some are no clothes, can I wear my swimsuit or towel, I know thats not the culture, but as a foreigner I would like to experience an onsen or hot spring, just want to know and identify the signs and rules and which I can visit! (just like the ball indicating the sake ripeness) oh and tours that are english friendly, or at least what are good apps for translation and devices to communicate and travel with! as well as maps!

Oysters are also good in Kobe because they come from nearby fishermen’s warfs. Recommend to go visit Murotsu Port in Tatsuno City, next to Himeji, if you would like to try oysters fresh out of seas. In the Kobe downtown, I also recommend Sone Jazz Restaurant/Bar, which is underrated for the quality. It’s in Kitano Cho, near Nishimura Coffee Shop. Bar Yanagase is also worth mentioning. It’s a hidden classic of Kobe. Also, don’t forget that Kobe offers all sorts of international cuisines, even Bhutanese.

This is the influence of Hanshinkan Modernism. The atmosphere is not Japanese-like but similar to the northeastern United States or Europe, so there may be something missing from the atmosphere for Europeans or Americans. Haruki Murakami's novel world is often based on the Hanshinkan Modernism area.

It depends on your itinerary. If you go to many cities in limited time, JR pass is convenient, but it can be expensive. Long distance buses are cheaper option if you have time. For example, it takes about 2.5 hours by Shinkansen between Tokyo and Osaka, 8 hours by bus. By taking night bus, you can save hotel cost.
Also, you can find cheap flights but most direct flights are from Tokyo or Osaka, so it’s not convenient from small city to another. JAL offers discount tickets for foreign tourists called Japan Explorer Pass. Flying from big cities and taking trains to small cities can be cheaper than JR pass.

Just as @sirmione905 said, it really just depends on your itinerary now if it’ll be worth it for you or not

Since this onsen has a variety of baths do you take a shower in between each type of bath?

You wouldn't need to, unless you plan to take a long break between going inside each onsen! However, at this hotel usually you can only go inside one of the onsen, since you need to reserve each outdoor one (except for the one inside your room).
