In the days when you were either a "Detroit News" or "Detroit Free Press" family, Mike O'Hara landed on our doorstep every day. I've seen his byline since I was first able to read, and I'm 60 now. Congratulations to a man who had to find a lot of ways to describe a lot of losing, but who still made the wins sound great.
Much respect for Mr. O'Hara. Always loved getting his perspective on the organization. Will miss his comments on the week after a game. Just like I miss killer's comments.
Happy Trails to you, Mike! It'll be fun for you to indulge in pure fandom, you've earned it! From a 1968 Vietnam Combat veteran family. One Nation, One Pride.
I don't think many people realize what a hole it's going to leave there without Mike, but time gets us all in the end and you couldn't ask for more. I love having an organization we can be so proud of and Mike was a huge part through decades of darkness. I'm glad he got to see THIS Detroit Lions and thanks to all the vets and active duty folks out there as well.
Lions doing this right! Top down and all around. Amazing 🤩!!! Brad built a top 5 roster, with a leader that eats knee caps. Place your bets now. Love these boys
Lmao man I love my squad!! Great things happen to people who continuously work hard for what they want! All the media, coaches, players, owners and fans fight for this team everyday regardless of the month of the year!! Love it
Thank you soooooooooooo much for sharing this with me, Detroit Lions! Mike was one of the bright spots over my last 50 years- over n over again too. I wasn't aware of his parting words and I'm thankful for stumbling across this video.
Mike, I always loved you my man. You did an excellent job. I always have so much respect for you and they way you reported michigan sports. You will be severly missed. We were so lucky to have you all theses years! Congratulation for a great carreer! Enjoy your retirement.
My guy went through 50 years of darkness and as soon as there was a light at the end of the tunnel he said peace out, thank you for your service Mike.

Awesome of MCDC to do that send off, and for Sheila to come down personally for it as well.
“Ain’t no coach like the one I got!” That was hella dope for that intro coach Dan

First Stoney and now Mike O'Hara. Two Detroit sports media greats gone (retired) in the same year.
The New Lions are All Class!
Good ole boy ❤
Big respect to him, but it's a little heartbreaking too. His articles are the first I look for
Ohara and Jerry Greene, the best-ever reporters on the Detroit sports scene.
Shelia is there. That defines the culture.

Shows how much resilience he has
