      @@aaakmm1785 when compared to the POCO F1 I had for around 3.5 years, the call quality is better, although it isn't a reason to buy the phone, unless you have really terrible call quality on your current phone, and the signal strength was pretty good, I'd say about the same, besides it takes about 10 seconds to switch from cellular internet to wifi (if you just always leave both of them on like I do), which isn't a huge deal, but can be annoying sometimes.

    • @baruchratz512
      @baruchratz512 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aaakmm1785 other considerations can be the great software (I haven't encountered any bugs so far in 2 weeks), the amazing AI, voice assistant, camera and performance when it comes to positives, and the negatives are the display which is sub par for the price point, some heating issues with sustained high performance (wasn't a big issue for me yet, but I didn't really push the phone, all I did was some light gaming, short camera sessions, and some TH-cam).
      Battery life is good enough for me, I usually end my days with around 30%, after about 6-7 hours of light usage screen on time, and 16 hours of total usage (I have the always on display turned on, and I rarely have battery saver on).

    Hi Sam, thanks for the review, and it does a good job of highlighting the hardware (screen, camera, battery life) of the phone, but like most other Pixel 7 reviewer out there, you leave off a lot of the software and service integration that really defines the 'Pixel' experience. Features like Direct My Call, Call Screening, Live Transcription, Now Playing, Personal Safety, Google Assistant, Google, Lens, Google Translate, Night Shot (which is as much software as it is hardware on Pixel Phones) really make the Pixel 7 series feel very seamless and full-featured to use.
    Now many of these features are also available on competing Android phones, but they are not as well integrated, and without the TPUs on the Tensor 2 SoC, ay not be as fast or as accurate, so it would have been really interesting to see what Google does better than its competitors and which features are exclusive to the Pixel (off the top of my head, Now Playing, Photo Unblur, Direct My Call, Call Screening). It's also worth noting some of the limitations of Google's implementations, your installing Nova is pretty telling that the Pixel Launcher has fairly limited customization (which is something I personally don't mind, as I rarely customize my phone much beyond OEM presets), but this is something many users might want to know about (especially the new Gestures, which is very polarizing, it seems).
    Phones aren't just hardware these days, the software and combined user experience define how fully featured they are, and I think phone reviews should address the strengths and differences between phones in this area as well, especially since reviewers have access to many different phones and are able to compare many more vendors than typical end users will.

    I’m looking for a USB-C splitter for my Pixel 7 Pro that can connect to its USB-C port. The splitter should have two female USB-C ports: one for connecting USB-C Apple EarPods to make phone calls, and the other for chargingg the phonee and supporting data transfer. This data transfer should enable USB debugging mode, allowing me to use the mirroring application, scrcpy. I’ve noticed that most products on Amazon only support data transfer on the port that supports audioo, but not on the charging port. Can you recommend a product that meets these requirements?

  • @kaptain1477
    @kaptain1477 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They need to increase the charging speed to at least 65watt. People will comment and say oh that will hurt battery longevity but competitors have done multiple things that reduce the strain on the battery making it a dual cell battery and putting the chips that generate heat during charging in the power brick making the phone stay cooler and charge quicker along with a nice thermal heatsink

    I bought the pixel 6 pro. It was the best option that I've ever made, I was thinking to switch to the 7 pro but I think I'll go for the 8 pro.
    But I'm in love with the 7 pro desing.

    Can Google fix all the damn bugs. Bugs I've noticed:
    •Laggy scrolling
    •Aut-rotate issue
    •Double tap gesture for flashlight issue
    •Horrible vodeocall quality in WhatsApp & Google Meet. Unbelievably bad
    •Fingerprint scanner lag
    I didn't have the lag when switching between the cameras.

    I dont know why this phone hit such mixed reviews. Im coming from an S21. Some say its not even a big upgrade from the S21 but it really is. Excellent 24hr battery life. Excellent camera. Great features. Fast phone. The only drawback is that its pretty slow charging. Other than that its pretty awesome.

  • @NaydenSpirdonov
    @NaydenSpirdonov ปีที่แล้ว

    I find the battery life mediocre and charging slow, overheating issues. The phone is just mid range.Kinda usable but definitely nothing pro about it, definitely better than my old oneplus 9 pro which was a joke of a phone but still way behind Huawei mate 20 pro I had years ago. I miss Huawei so much! Mate 20 pro was phone that actually was a tool that just worked. I think Google has become just another mediocre company with no purpose except holding personal information and advertising to snowflakes 😅

    Reviewer’s need to stop recommending these Pixel phones and over hyping them. I was misled by many youtube reviews. I returned the Pixel 7 pro after having to many heating issues and app crashes. Even the camera is not that good. The camera over processes and makes the dark colors darker. The best way to go is Samsung or Apple. I kept my iPhone 13 pro max and will upgrade to the Galaxy s23 Ultra next month.

    I don't see nothing special about the pixel , the SoC is the weakest of all flagships, it is a middle tier SoC , the fast charging is weak , the wireless charging is weak , the storage is still ufs 3.1 , no charger in the box , average built , so yeah nothing special , you should check the vivo X90 series , the x90 pro is an absolute flagship

    I am confused about the touted face unlock feature. How is it any different from any camera based face unlock feature on Android for the past 5+ years? My OP7 has face unlock that I have been using everyday for the past 4 years. How is this a new Pixel feature?

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not biometrical secure enough for payments. But tests show that it is much better than say the S22U face recognition. I saw a test that showed the S22U can be unlocked with a photo but the Pixel 7 could not. It seems to use AI depth algorithms to give a more 3D landscape. But as you say, the difference is not life-changing and there may be confusion that it is the same tech as the Pixel 4 Face-ID; it is not.

    • @SappyDa
      @SappyDa ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andyH_England If they did use any depth sensing tech, they sure didn't spend any time to advertise it, which tells be it probably isn't any different.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SappyDa There are differences and that is why they cannot use face recognition on the Pixel 6. I assume it is to do with hardware as well as software.

    • @bonedatt

      I don't get it either. These reviewers are acting as if there was ever a secure 2D scanning face unlock on any Android device. As far as I know the only Android devices that offered secured face unlock were the Galaxy Note9 with its iris scanner, and then there was the Pixel 4XL, LG G8, and Mate 20 Pro that had a 3D secure face unlock. I'm currently using a Note20 Ultra, and the face unlock is not secure enough for mobile payment either, so why are these reviewers emphasizing that of the Pixel 7 Pro? If it has a punch hole single camera, it's not secure.

    I went through two pixel 7s in one week both had bad performing fingerprint sensors. Also the 5G signal on both of them is worse than what I get with my S21. I watched a bunch of reviews on TH-cam and none of the reviewers mentioned anything about the fingerprint sensor or the modem in this phone not performing on par with other equally priced phones.
    You people aren't telling the whole truth.

    I'd go so far as saying the pixel 7 pro is the best phone of 2022. I use this, the s22 ultra qns the iPhone 14 pro max as well as the oppo find x5 pro. Pixel 7 pro first. Oppo next then the s22 ultra and last the iPhone . There's no reason there should be a notch on any iPhone now.

    Nah the haptics on the pixel 7 pro are worse than the iPhone
    Yes they use them more often, but it still feels like my phone is shaking itself compared to the Taptic Engine
    I mean, the Taptic Engine is so good it is used as the only click mechanism on apple’s trackpads and the crown response on the Apple Watch. There is literally no comparison
