I was very shocked to see don claim him, I had the same thoughts when he hit waivers. He was a stud goal scorer in the development program, sure doesn’t hurt to give him a chance. I just hope they give him top 6 minutes and an actual chance.

Nice to see you back with another video. This move may or may not work out, but he can't be much worse than Tyler Johnson.

Good to be back! Think Johnson just needs more time in the lineup and to have some chemistry with the boys. Feel like under Sacco he’s been the odd man out and it’s hard to have consistency in your game when you’re in and out of the lineup so much especially when he hasn’t experienced that much in his career

I am an Islanders fan. I hope he does well . I am a fan of his , but because of how he was used or his personal situation, he never developed. I hope he becomes the player we all thought he could be........just not against us 😅.

Good move. He may be a bust, but the potential upside is huge.

He did appear on the TD Garden 1v1 showcase when he was 9. I thought that was pretty cool to see also!!

Guy's got a wicked wrister, can get the puck top shelf while up tight, and has enough sense to find the open ice and get into passing lanes to make the defensive play.
If he can find the speed, I could see the synergy with Wahlstrom on the Right Wing, Coyle at Center, and Johnson on the Left Wing. Fast and Flashy, but defense would need to be more solid with less activation, and more willingness to work the neutral zone for quick re-entries. Keep the opposition on their toes at their own blueline, possibly force bad line changes to take advantage of. Could even see Wahlstrom on the right of Zacha at Center and Geekie or Brazaeu on the left. The point is, Wahlstrom brings options. This move is a lot better than remaining stagnant and doing nothing.

So the thing is, Wally was supposed to be a big goal scoring talent. At first we all thought that Trotz was holding him back, then Lambert, etc etc. The issue is he just doesn’t seem to be the “prolific goal scorer” he was touted to be when we drafted him. I watched a lot of Wally, and I while he made a few plays here and there, even when he had a long stint with Barzal he never really did much. Glad to see he is getting a chance somewhere else though.

I think the Islanders ruined him. Hopefully he can bounce back and be the scorer everyone thought he would be. The Islanders don't know how to handle young talent.

For a fan of the isles, you must not watch alot of games ! He's a good fighter ? If he was, he'd still be on the team and Lou wouldn't have signed Martin !

Yeah, another player who can't score. He'll fit right in.

I don't really follow the Islanders. I would say it's probably a good move. I still think they do more. Alot of the players I think should be gone are RFA's or recent signings.
Sometimes I get Sabres hockey games on Television because I live near NY state boarder , but I don't really pay attention to that either. It's just entertainment and I don't really care if they win or not.

Just one of those guys that couldn't make the transition ! Isles gave him plenty of opportunity !

Another useless signing. Nothing will help if you keep the same systems and or core , other teams know the system due to the same players and if you keep sticking to it adding 1 players has no affect you need a complete shakeup. second there is a reason why he was let go , NOBODY wants him because he sucks.
