larry was an absolute killer. every legend from that era has a bird story: magic, jordan, zeke, pip, the admiral, ewing, barkley, drexler, etc. he was the smartest, toughest, most clutch player in the history of the game. everyone feared and respected larry legend. like how much of a killer do you have to be to be able to tell everyone, teammates and opponents, exactly what you are going to do and the other team couldn't stop you?

For example, in ‘The Left Handed” game where he not only scored 21 points w/ his left, he also logged a 40 point triple double, hitting a buzzer beater to send it to OT, and another buzzer beater to win it in OT. When asked why he played the game lefty he said “I’m saving my right hand for the Lakers”! Even McHale got in on the smack talk, after Bird scored his 1st 5 buckets left handed McHale to Jerome Kersey, who was guarding Bird, “wait till he starts using his right hand”.

@@Scoopda1 There was far more positional defense back then. The rules were different back in those days. More strict on double teams and zones players couldn't do that they are able to in today's game. It's what made his court IQ so valuable. He was rarely ever out of position.
A little context about the famous left handed game. Larry didn't play the whole game left handed. He mainly took shots in the paint left handed. If I remember correctly, Larry scored like 11 of 21 baskets with his left hand. He had to go back to shooting regular later in the game because the game got close and he couldn't be playing around.
