That depends on your lifestyle a bit, but for me I spend around $3,000/month. A good chunk of that is rent and utilities. I’ll make a video with a more detailed budget breakdown. And insight into how to calculate your saving rate as that is an important measurement.

Can you explain why from 2000 to 2014 homes were almost the same price and did not change much, but in last 5 years cost of a home almost doubled? And how it affect salaries, and what do you think about correction regarding covid?
If you keep thinking about money then it will never be worth it, if you love houdini and fx only then you can cross the initial struggling years and reach somewhere really good, all the best

There is good money to be made in games as well. But it will take a while to get up to mid to expert level. I only see an increasing demand for tech artist with Houdini skills in the future. The next gen datasets require some help from procedural approaches for content generation and layout of that content.

there's a little more than 4 weeks in a month... but there's always 52 weeks in a year... so 40h/week * 52 weeks = 2080 hours

Guys, is it worth it? I haven't seen the video, yet. I'll do it, asap. But I've been learning Houdini to build a portfolio soon.
It's worth it. Its about staying in the industry and growing your skills to stay relevant. You can make a good living with this.
