If I may make a suggestion, check out Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy channel. His tutorials are, he has his own paint line "two thin coats", which is his catch phrase from his time doing Warhammer tutorials.
Got to say it took a second and then I saw the shading in the armour from the yellow. You have to be the best example out there of what GW were aiming for when they introduced Contrast paints. You don't have to paint to Golden Daemon standards to get a good result and a painted army on a table fast.
When I paint Yellow I always start with a vibrant Pink (Screamer pink) as a base coat, but that's when I doing nurgle stuff and want a heavy fleshy tone.
That sounds a interesting method! It's amazing what can work though man.....I discovered the best white works over blue just through getting a tad experimental
You've done a good job their Madame!! I will say though Yellow is such a painful colour even watching someone else paint it is hard enough for me!! It's not that it's the Shade I wanna achieve, there's a Football (Soccer) club here in the U.K called the Wolverhampton Wanderers and their kit colour like a yellowy orange that, that's the colour I want for my New Norse team!!
I'm colourblind so I stick to the GW recipe....I love Yriel yellow as my layer,Averland Sunset as the base,Dorn yellow for highlights.....I've also used Vallejo Golden yellow,a bit more vibrant & gives a different tone,looks cool when the troops are on parade lol
Over on the Grimdank Reddit someone mentioned that Shana Baesler (sp?) tweeted out a 40k quote in support of the two ladies who walked out. Thanks to this channel, I was like, “I know who that is!” I fully expect you to mention it in the next hobby news, because I’m not sure there will ever be a more perfect piece of news for this channel. EDIT: Also, yellow is my freaking nemesis when it comes to painting. White and I have an uneasy truce, but Yellow and I are still in the ‘active hostilities’ phase!

I think Fafnir Rann painted as a Crimson Fist would be cool. I intend to paint one for my kid.

Because I’ve had more experience with contrast yellow paints and since I was a bit nervous to tackle yellow armor I went with what I knew!
