Yeah but unity is just about worthless if it's not based on truth. Perhaps those who value unity so highly actually are wanting godliness and gentleness and love in relationships regardless of theological positions of those one interacts with. Truth brings division. Doctrine divides - between truth and falsehood. This is pretty obvious from reading scripture. Unity should not be sought at the expense of truth.

@@Kevin-gt9yq Most church denominations agree on the essential core tenets of the faith, but we shouldn't be fighting over denominational differences or different practices.
We teach often about being able to love one another in spite of disagreement in the christian faith. Therefore, that's what people mean by unity.
Also, this is not me trying to bust you, but I find it odd that comment sections like this one have to have someone coming in with some argument or contrarian comment against some smaller comment with an easy to understand sentiment 🤔.

The first rule of the Bible : Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is not bad to discuss minor details of the church. It is also not bad to condemn heresies that go against the intelligent teachings of the Bible. If we see corruption among churches, they are to be called out. Transubstantiation is false since our God given senses are reliable according to the Lord Jesus, when in the Gospel of Luke He taught that a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you SEE that I have. The Apostles were eyewitness of His Majesty, they saw that He was alive after His Resurrection from the dead. He is truly God AND truly Man, with a real human body, and He ascended into Heaven. He has a real human body which is in Heaven, so He is everywhere by His Divinity. So he is not everywhere present, nor is his literal humanity in millions of buildings. So because of our senses and because of the Lord Jesus true humanity, Transubstantiation is false. But since the church of Rome teaches Transubstantiation which is false, the church of Rome and it's leader the bishop of Rome are in error. Arguing that out God endorsed senses are wrong will require me to use my senses to read it. And arguing that Jesus isn't truly human with a real human body will contradict Scripture and the Creed which summarizes it. Even the Apostle Paul in the letter to the Romans, that is, to the church at Rome, warned that they could be CUT OFF, which shows that God does not promise that the church of Rome will never error. All the martyr Christians who died during the Reformation because they denied Transubstantiation and refused to bow and worship a piece of bread have borne witness with their blood.

@@ChrisEAdlay and when did they split off of other churches that may have been in error - if you are going to make historical claims, you need dates and historical evidence. And why could they not have made errors over time? Revelation chapter 1 through 3 teaches us that particular churches can error over time - why don't you think this applies to them? Acts 20 teaches us that leaders of the church can error, being false wolves in sheep's clothing. And Romans 11 warns the church of Rome that they can error, even be cut off. If even the church of Rome can error, where is the divine promise that the marinated, or Assyrians or syri malabar that they could never error? And isn't it true when Rome through the Portuguese came to churches in India, they demanded many changes? And from what dates to what dates where they not in communication with them, be specific. And did everyone join Rome or an eastern Orthodox group? When you ask about their beliefs, do you mean you have surveys of everyone's beliefs from that time, or are you only referring to the beliefs of a handful of leaders?
Finally, the reformation churches affirmed they themselves were the Catholic church. They rejected the innovation, not shared by the eastern churches, that the church of Rome was superior to the other churches, or that somehow the church of Rome was the universal Church, or that the bishop of Rome was the Head of the Church, when only the Lord Jesus Christ was the Head of the Church according to Scripture. Scripture is able to make one wise for salvation which is through faith in Jesus Christ. I think the argument you are making is bad history, but even if right, if we used the same line of reasoning, how do you explain the disappearance without a trace among the eastern churches that allegedly used to believe in the Bishop of Rome as the Head of the Church, Transubstantiation, Purgatory, etc? 10. Finally, is the true church proven by God's Word, which cannot lie, is preserved by God and enlightens the mind eith itr Author the Holy Spirit or your own fallible, probabilistic interpretation of poorly preserved historical evidence? 11. If you really want to leave Scripture and go to the quicksand of historical evidence, aren't you aware that historians, basing themselves in the historical evidence, see that there was no monarchical bishop of Rome until the 2nd century, and no Pope until long after the Apostles? Even Roman Catholic scholars admit this. And that the distinctive beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholics in Purgatory or the Eastern Orthodox of the veneration of images developed gradually hundreds of years after the Apostles and the earliest Christian churches? Scholars of purgatory and the Byzantine empire can tell you that. Same with other distinctive Roman and Eastern beliefs and practices - so if you want to go with the historical evidence, then innovations hundreds of years after the Apostles are exposed.

Isn't that exactly why we need to get justification right? It matters whether we're saved by faith apart from works, or whether we're saved by a combination of the two. What do Galatians and Romans 4 say?
It matters whether Christ alone is our Mediator, or whether or not He allows Mary to share in that glory, which God explicitly says He does not do.
It matters whether we follow a man who calls himself the Vicar of Christ or follow the REAL Christ as Head of the church.
It matters whether we believe Christ's death perfectly satisfied God's wrath, or if we need to go to an alternate destination from heaven when we die to suffer and become purified.
      These things carry eternal significance.

@HvV_FilmRoom Faith over works is lazy salvation that produces bad fruit. The reason Christians are so despised is because they've evolved into an entitled class that believes they will live forever while everyone else burns. Not because they've done anything to earn it but rather because they believed correctly.
Our earliest and most reliable gospel says nothing about “believers'' entering paradise. This is a later development. Even Satan believes. It's not a metric for determining worth. Heaven is for the righteous.

Totally agree, but personally I have seen many church's quickly fighting inwardly over doctrine and theology, but few fight outwardly for souls.
We do need right doctrine, but to ignore our great commission and bicker amongst ourselves is futile, and tbh the Church of America has ignored the great commission.
I belong to AG, thankfully I can say with much appreciation that AG takes missions extremely seriously (it was founded on having a missional heart in Hot springs AK), and while we lose our way from time to time, I believe God's heart is for the lost and AG's aswell.
Just a final thought.. Demons have right doctrine, more then we do. My doctrine will one day will mean little and even less if I allow my brothers and sisters to go to hell because I'm arguing about tongues.
Now to your point, we do need obviously foundational set points of agreement, but I would much prefer to focus on souls, then more trivial matters.@@HvV_FilmRoom

How do ANY denomination have the audacity to bear witness that they alone hold the key that Christ said is upon the individual?

I do appreciate this and I can understand not wanting to give your "labels" because many people are very quick to place someone's argument in a category as part of a belief or an ideology instead of just considering the belief. This gives many people an "out" where if they believe that other parts of your category are wrong, they can disregard the beliefs you're promoting.
However, if you change your mind, I think some more intellectually honest people would appreciate being able to detect if there are any biases in your arguments inherited from your church or political stances. Though from my personal experience I believe you do a good job of presenting evidence for your statements, I think it would help people to find if there are any specific statements they should double-check to ensure you have made solid arguments and have not elevated poor evidence to support a belief held out of emotion or other bias. There definitely are miracles in all denominations. Even in Islam our Lord often appears to them. The thing is often miracles vindicate a truth of the faith. Protestant miracles tend to only vindicate that Jesus is God etc.
They don't vindicate Sola fide or other specifically Protestant practices.
Catholic and Orthodox miracles vindicate this; but ALSO our Theology.
Eucharistic miracles, our lady of Guadalupe, our Lady of Fatima etc.
All vindicate what is generally rejected by the average Protestant.
God works through all denominations though I believe.

Do not forget the words of the Lord during his Sermon on the Mount; Lord Lord did we not do mighty deeds in your name? And then he casts them out for he never knew them… How could Jesus do miracles through those he doesnt know? Why did the Lord make a donkey speak? It wasn’t to confirm that the donkey had been following in the commandments of God but rather was to display the majesty of God. It doesnt matter what miracles you do if at the end of the day you are unknown to Jesus. We all must be known to him through our participation in his life. The simplest fulfillment of this is participation in his Eucharist, but you already know that. If you haven’t yet, read Ignatius of Antioch. His words are incredible and I believe pope Benedict made him a doctor of the church recently. His writing to the Philadelphians is especially potent for todays crowd.

@@DannyBurger-oj6nt There are people who believe that one is justified by works, and not by Faith...others believe that they can do whatever they want, as long as they believe in Jesus...all of them for example believe they are Christians, but a true Christian is the one who knowing Jesus, and believing in that image and Light that he manifested in this world currently in Darkness; blind without knowing God (because in that image we can see the invisible God that he made known, since he did his perfect will), follows in his same steps...because the true Faith is accompanied by Fruits, since the Spirit, after believing; after accepting the New Covenant of his blood, writes the Law in our heart; keeping the commandments, not by obligation, but because it is our delight; our Eden... others for example are Trinitarians and others are not...and it is not the same to worship and serve the concept of 3 gods in 1, than to worship 1 single individual God, the spiritual Father of Jesus and also our spiritual Father...already in this case, someone would be practicing a faith different from the Biblical Faith, and therefore not having that Faith with which one is fully reconciled with God, being saved, because it would be like worshiping a God in his mind different from the Biblical one.

@@TheSprinx2 Like I said “legitimate Christianity” many denominations agree on The Trinity, Grace by Faith alone (though works proceed from it), Christ’s divinity and resurrection, and the Virgin Birth. (Note: I may mix up some denominations and it’s entirely my fault if I do, but these do exist I may have just mixed them up) The differences between let’s say Baptists and Presbyterians is the way they worship. Presbyterians only really worship via hymns and Psalms and such. Whereas, Baptists are very flexible. As long as your worship is godly and focuses on your relationship with Jesus. So here, they agree on fundamentals but disagree and a minute category like the method of worship.
Main point, different types of-for example, worship and communion-don’t indicate a different God being worshipped. It’s the actual descriptions of God where things change. Hence, why I would argue the Jewish God is different from the Christian God, because they don’t believe in the Trinity, hence not the same God by our definition.

Another issue with what you're saying is IP seems to only be talking about Protestants vs Catholics vs Orthodox, the latter 2 of which don't believe in grace by faith alone. The examples you gave are just Protestant denominations and most Christians would agree that's not an issue (And by Christians, I mean Protestants). Although I would disagree in regards to baptism as baptising babies is unbiblical and thus, a false teaching. Though I admit to omitting Catholicism, I didn’t have a clear, concise understanding of most denominations, being a non-denominational church attender myself. I don’t have the proper knowledge to critique other forms of the same religion since we all agree on the same essentials. Just because one person thinks you should do good works to go to heaven doesn’t mean it’s a different God than one who says Grace by Faith alone.

Those 10% of stuff contains taking the Eucharist which Christ commanded. It is a vital issue, since Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you" (John 6: 53). So if you are not taking the proper Lord's Supper, you are actually not doing what Jesus commanded.

I completely respect your decision to not talk about what denomination you’re apart of, but I also believe we can’t pretend like all denominations should just put aside major differences when those issues are salvific in nature. Some issues I think can be set aside like certain views on baptism, what to call a church leader, how a church service is run, etc. but when the difference is faith alone and faith + works for salvation, the issue can’t just be ignored because both sides are preaching a different gospel.

I’ve said this exact thing to Catholics and they called me a heretic. For saying we should all be one instead of fighting with other Christian’s or Christian domination’s on whose side is better or more right or who’s “the true Christian” because it literally doesn’t matter we all love God and jesus, we all read our bibles and we all have a relationship with Christ etc and jesus and God would not want us Christian’s to fight with and against eachother. but i guess i am a heretic for thinking that.
