Steele Creek looks beautiful! The rock cliffs remind me of where i live. We have a mountain called Rocky Face. The entire mountain is rock...The elk were amazing. I couldn't tell the size of the one looking through the binoculars. But the one near the end of the video looked like he may be a Harvey Wallhanger. Good luck on your next elk hunting trip, Austin. Our family loved tent camping-ours was somewhat minimalist. I do recommend spreading out a heavy duty tarp under the tent to keep it dry and protect the tent floor from any rocks or sharp sticks. Our coldest night camping was in Yellowstone at 22 degrees. We had ThermaRest sleeping pads and our sleeping bags were temperature rated for below freezing temps. We used mummy style sleeping bags that were close-fitting to maximize body heat. Just roughing it a little! Can’t do it anymore, but sure enjoyed being close to nature!
That is not easy camping with a baby, and two kids....Hope you get to rest up when you get home...Yes, Austin enjoyed...but I think everyone else was so ready to go home...
So we camp in a travel trailer, and after watching this I asked my husband if we could buy a tent too. Lol.. he looked at me like I had 3 heads.. but y’all make it look fun!
I had to laugh, my husband also goes to Colarado Elk hunting and hasn't seen one. We were in AZ last week and he saw some up by the Grand Canyon. His comment was also "don't see any in Colorado but I see them in AZ.
The Ozarks are just beautiful. This trip reminded me of the many many outdoor adventures we had growing up in northern Canada, 500 miles from the nearest city. Great childhood memories!
My family used to go camping every year where we would meet up with Aunties and Uncles and cousins. And every year when the tents were being put up mum and dad, aunties and uncles would fight. So one year my sister and I decided to get our own tent and set up across the road from everyone else. We had never put a tent up before and let's just say mistakes were made but with each mistake we would laugh and then figure out what we did wrong and fix it. One by one my dad and uncles came over to us and said we were putting them all to shame and can we at least have a small fight so they can feel better about themselves lol. There message was you don't have fun putting up a tent. We just laughed and carried on.😂
It’s honestly so refreshing just to see families enjoying time together and loving on each other and the precious kids . Doing fun activities with kids ! Enjoying Gods beautiful nature creation . All without alcohol involved.

I am blessed to live in Wyoming where we can see Elk off and on! Elk are beautiful animals and delicious to eat!! NO I don't hunt them but I eat them!! Elk burger makes awesome chili!!

I spent my childhood camping in a tent, then married with 2 children we tent camped until our youngest was 14. We built a house on our property that we camped on. My daughter always wanted to go camping, it was never my thing, the closest we got to camping is the time we went to a beautiful park just a few blocks from home and cooked breakfast for some friends and it was great, bacon cooking outdoors on a fall day is pretty awesome, daughter wasn’t that impressed, so she grew up, got married had a child, then granddaughters and bought herself a travel trailer to go with their boat and now she goes camping in Oklahoma.
All 3 of your kids are are always so happy. It reminds me when I was a little girl. I believe I was the one that had the most dirt on my hands and face but I kept up with all my brothers. I had so much fun..

We called them foil packs in cub scouts when I was my son’s den leader. I still love making them occasionally. They’re always a fan favorite because everyone’s can be slightly different and it’s fun to build your own if you’re old enough. Enjoy every minute. I’m sure you’ve heard this many times, they grow up so fast. I love your family! God bless!!

Kentucky put in elk into the Land Between the Lakes in Western Kentucky about 20 years ago. I enjoy traveling through there and seeing them too! ❤😊

We called them "Hobo dinners" in girl scouts back in the 60's-70's. Very yummy!❤
