It doesn't have to be as good as Elden Ring. Elden Ring indeed is a monster of a game content. Even if it's as good as the previous souls series, its good enough for me!
I'm most interested in co-op and a potentially viable archer build. Those are two areas that could be better in the recent Souls games and a good compliment to the Souls series if they nail these.
@@AKSBSUbows are actually viable from what I've seen so far. Bows deal decent damage, arrow types and elements are super useful (especially poison arrows), and arrows are on a recharge timer so you need to melee to gain arrows back. Headshots do extra damage and stagger as per usual and have both a quick shot auto aim for less damage and a manual charged shot for more damage.
Elden Ring is a phenomenon in the gaming industry and it’s a tough game to be compared to but one thing I do feel goes in favor of the lords of the fallen is that it’s a more linear based game as opposed to open world and that’s great because I don’t wanna play another large open world souls game after Elden ring and instead I want a nice single player more linear based experience and with an average of around 30 hours for the single player story I’m super excited for this new game more so than anything else I’ve been hyped for in a long time
@@Wodagazowana5000 I never did play a souls game prior to Elden Ring but none the less the game’s one of the highest rated and most celebrated titles of all time and rightfully so as it’s praise is definitely justified
I hope it’s the elden ring killer or at least on par with better balance for pvp and not leaving players abandoned for over a year and a half with no DLC after making a billion dollars
Lies of P is a massive disappointment but this actually looks great. The graphics are amazing, performance looks good, reminds me of Demon’s Souls Remake. Amazing art direction, sick boss designs. Very interesting mechanics like switching between worlds. Very good distance on rolls. The only thing I’d say needs polish is the movement, it can feel a bit floaty at times.
Out of curiousity..what don't you like about Lies of P? Was sceptical at first too, but I like the combat and atmosphere so far. Only disappointment for me is no co op/ invasions. They already mentioned in an interview considering a sequel, which would have multiplayer. So I accept it this time due to lack of their experience and looking if there's interest in the game after all.
Lies of P is better imo in terms of gameplay because Lords of the Fallen is really floaty compared to Lies of P which expects high execution on the players part perfect blocking/parrying is necessary in order to succeed which immediately sets up a wall for players who are bad at parrying. Lords of the Fallen is much more accessible and forgiving. You have a pretty large parry window, even if you miss the parry you'll block the attack and take 1/10 the damage. And the dodge covers absurd distance and has down right ridiculous I frames on it. Numerous times in the b roll footage shown the player SHOULD'VE been hit for an early roll or bad positioning yet goes through completely unscathed
Who's going to have the money to buy all these games!!! Lords: $70, Spiderman: $70, Starfield: $70, EA FC 24: $70, Madden 24: $70, MK 1: $70, Cyberpunk: $30, AC Mirage: $50 that equals out to $500! I'm going to have a difficult time picking out which ones I should get. I'm thinking of going with, Spiderman 2, Starfield, Ac Mirage.... FML Idk what I'm going to do. According to many, that pyramid head mini-boss has a minion that is buffing her, and you have to take out the minion in the umbral world first, or else you won't do much damage against that mini-boss.
Yes, she had an umbral parasite that made her invulnerable, and 2 adds. If you kite her up the stairs she's far enough from the parasyte to become vulnerable, and killing the adds isn't much work, it was her phase 2 huge increase in aggression I could't get past in that short time. I didn't see a stat for Umbral magic. Is it like Hex and uses both of the other two magic damage types? Also, do you have the impression that archery is a viable range attack similar to magic attacks? Bows have been pretty disappointing in recent FROM games. The two things I'm intrigued most by this game is a more persistent co-op mode and the possibility of making a viable archer build, two things that aren't great in recent Souls games.
VIDEO TITLE IS PERFECT! LOTF looks like an Elden Ring sequal. Little fun fact, Creators of Elden Ring were copying ideas from this game! This game could have been called Elden Ring 2 and I wouldn't have even argued it. Looks like it, plays like it and even has two different worlds. Elden Ring had the underground, while LOTF has a netherworld.
While I did not know the answer myself, it seems Cezar the Creative Director answered this in an interview. Yes, when someone dies in coop, an effigy grows at their death point, where the other player can ressurect them on the spot :)
It felt pretty good tbh, they noted at the preview that the combat improvements over the first game is something they have put a lot of focus and effort into
That is unfortunately something I don't have an answer for. I feel like it did pause, but I wasn't looking for whether it did, and it would make sense it wouldnt in coop etc. Sorry for the lackluster answer
the 142 melee and 59 spells was a response from the studio head who answered a few questions I had after, I have not seen all 142 etc, so I can only rely on what info was given to me
The two worlds is a gimmick because it's only in certain places it adds nothing much except for more subtle exploration and even then still doesn't expand gameplay. So it's an interesting feature but nothing really groundbreaking let's be honest here.

The game has not sold me like Remnant 2 or Lies of p have. i wish they would put out a demo to calm my woahs, however i doubt they have that much confidence in the game. Instead ill wait for all of your positive reviews before i give this one a try. the push and hype for this game feels extremely fake.
