I can't watch this anymore.... I like this channel and challenges but here, you're just trying to loose>? What's fun about that? You're a skillfull player, play games that are challenging and I will gladly watch. Keep trying to loose and make silly challenges and I just can't keep watching this. Sad.
While cool, it's gonna be really annoying with terran, and the challenge kinda falls appart agaisnt another zerg. It could be a fun situational challenge might be more doable and fun in 2v2 or 3v3
The ideal challenge to me would be a blockade or war of attrition challenge. Your goal is to eliminate overlords, supply depots, and pylons. Defend yourself, however you see fit. Make whatever units you think are going to be most effective at killing overlords, supply depots, and pylons. Make your opponent rage quit due to supply block.
One thing I was always hoping would change is some reason to use gateways without warpgate. Like production was slightly faster in gateway mode. So if you were being defensive you would build at home from gateways then switch to offensive mode and switch to warp gates when attacking.
The only reason gateway is better is that its always in production without any downtime. Whereas in warpgate. Due to macro, theres a few seconds of downtime in between. That will add up throughout the game, which results in a lower army count overall compared to gateways
I misspoke, couldn’t edit comment so ended up deleting it. But yeah, I agree it would be nice to have an advantage to gateway too, so it’s a proper trade-off between either type
@@Portrial Unfortunately that doesnt work like that, because protoss gets a big button above their minimap that tells them how many warpgates are off cooldown at any time everywhere on the map, so they dont miss warp in cycles due to "macro", they can just press that button and spam warpins on their warp prism without even having to add warpgates to their hotkeys or look at their base.
I don't even play RTS but still enjoy this channel and this particular blend of personality + experimental gameplay content, keep up the good work (that clown in the pinned comment forced my hand here)
I could watch you play games all day dude. I'm always sad when the last game ends even if its hours and hours of gameplay. I can't watch anything else as much as I want to watch this.
Thanks for the video. It's the first of this series I've watched :) I will watch the others eventually, but I am not caught up on the earlier series yet. Just figured, watching every new video as it comes out is good for the algorithm.
Game 1: It's good to know that even uThermal can go too far with his shenanigans. I am slightly appalled/impressed at how close that game was though despite Marc having absolutely nothing to fight with.
Normal, boring, StarCraft is definitely not for me. This, however, is perfect. Thank you for all your time and effort. I hope this brings you happiness and supports your life style!
I love the 1v1s, I don't really care the record, as long as the games are entertaining, and the "weird" challenges are almost always super entertaining win or loss. Love the enerrgy, the positive attitude, the general vibe. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I don't really care for the team games, or the other RTS games. I wish you nothing but good fortune in all that you do, but for me the 1v1 build challenges is your best content.
That first game against Terran looked like how I would play Protos in SC2... As I barely played Starcraft2... I was excellent in the original Starcraft back in the day but now I am 41 years old, out of practice and certainly cannot micro like you. I do miss your new BAR content tho :)
Nice guy moment after game 2 vs the 1st zerg guy. These games can be pretty hard core and it can drag when you feel like you're not doing well. Got a like from me for sure.
Regarding no Warp Gate to GM. All videos were cool, uThermal level, glad I watched! But I think the challenge itself was too easy. I even think that if you won't know what the challenge is you may think it's a normal games. Hope next challenge would be harder, the one when we won't be initially sure if reaching GM is possible!
Challenge idea: find a way to limit your apm to keep you at a max of X apm and challenge different ranks. Can a gold beat you if you only have 15 apm? A plat at 20? Diamond at 30? Etc
I would watch any videos you make because you are entertaining when you have fun, but I really want to see you flex your creativity in BAR again and try some wacky builds there and mix it up.
if you had blocked the army from going down the ramp, you could have killed the entire deathball with only 2 cloaked units imagine... Only problem was that plan relied heavily on you killing all orbitals while not fucking up the block xd 32:52 you f2 cancel hatchery target xDDDDDDDD
That's impossible. You cannot take any close to even fights, loose any probes or any scouting units. What is he supposed to do with damaged units, put them in the corner and be "dead" supply? how exactly is this supposed to work against all ins, reaper or oracle harass, drop play, how are you engaging tanks ever? I'm not even sure you could get out of the metal leagues with this challenge.
You & Harstem both seem to be doing 2 player stuff, why not team up & each of you runs your own challenge at the same time against 2 other players, or split 1 of you on each team & you do a challenge against each other without saying what it is with a random team mate each
Personally I don't like challenges that are straight up penalties. I like for there to at least be some creative way to use the restriction to actually benefit yourself in some situations even if it's ultimately not as strong.
The number you see over the command center/nexus/hatchery is the maximum number of workers with no wasted worker time. It is not the maximum you can benefit from, because minerals that are farther away from your building have a little bit of down-time with two workers on the minerals. Having "floater" workers is still a benefit around up to the point that you have 3 workers per "far" mineral patch, usually around 20.
You can alwasy go a little bit higher not only due to long distance mining but for prudently making workers in advance which will be later on transferred to new locations. In some cases it allows faster and safer expantion. By building too many bases you wont be able to saturate them quickly enough.
In addtion to what Jeffrey said: mineral patches can be harvested by ~2,5 probes (generalizing, far patches are a more efficient and near patches less so, but nobody cares). so more than 2 is still more money but these probes are only 50% efficient. If you want numbers 40 minerals/min per probe, max 104 minerals/min per patch (averaged for far and near patches - numbers taken from sc2 forum post "Mineral Saturation"). Also you basically never want to stop worker production until you have a solid amount ~70+ or you're doing a 2 base all-in or something, these additional probes can be transferred to other bases etc. Hope that helps.
a friend of mine and I were talking about how big of a lead would he need to beat a pro. he thinks he can beat a pro if he has a fully saturated base and the pro is at a normal starting base he can win. do you think this is possible??? he's plat. i think he is on drugs.....
I can relate to marc. If I off race I just want to see Zerg. Especially if I get terran, which as a Zerg I hate the most. I'm never losing a TvZ. I'll just do normal af two base all in, target their banes with tanks stim and win every time. Or I'll build six hellions and then a million bcs. 90% win rate either one. No scouting. Then afterwards me and the zerg b**** about terran lol
I stop watching after game1. I usually don't mind playing weird style but man that was hard to watch. That was more like throwing the game not playing at a good level with a weird build.
Your first composition, should of naviagted around the army and attacked the terran since you don't have speed zealots, teh reason is if he retreats you can do considerable damage and gain time and eco damage, if he goes forward he will the nstim to elimainte buildings as fast as possible so you might get out two stims, the abiltiy to recall your army will do about as well as it did before against it, but you would have direct damage to teh terran, rather than a one sided fight, that was a loss into limited damage. This would give you three bases and more mining time.. If you heistant of a engagement but you keep saying your army is bigger, attack their base, if protoss and utlize recall, jsut remember to micro your probes ot hide them, or pre split 50% of the probes.. etc, to keep up your income. 30 seconds of extra mining isn't worth losing all your probes...
I can't watch this anymore.... I like this channel and challenges but here, you're just trying to loose>? What's fun about that? Then don’t watch? You aren’t entitled to anything and are not forced to watch the video. There aren’t really issues here except the ones in your head.
@@finalistburrito2499 Thank you for setting me straight 😀, and here I thought I was entitled

Wrong. There's nothing dumber than that time when you flew a command center into the enemy base and build a planetary fortress. I loved it.
That one and building a hatchery+spinecrawlers where the most silly-goosier strategies ever (they worked!!)
man your shoutcasting is IMMACULATE it feels like I understand the game to the fullest. I love that
I could watch you play games all day dude. I'm always sad when the last game ends even if its hours and hours of gameplay. I can't watch anything else as much as I want to watch this.
It's so funny how his off-race strategies are just tearran strategies in disguise. Ling drop, no warp gate, etc 😂
Thanks for the video. It's the first of this series I've watched :) I will watch the others eventually, but I am not caught up on the earlier series yet. Just figured, watching every new video as it comes out is good for the algorithm.
Ghost to Grandmaster and Planetary Fortress Rush to Grandmaster are some of the most legendary content on TH-cam
also bongcloud to gm was insane
Watching the Raven to grandmaster series is amazing because you see just how good they can get!! Then they got nerfed =)
Game 1: It's good to know that even uThermal can go too far with his shenanigans. I am slightly appalled/impressed at how close that game was though despite Marc having absolutely nothing to fight with.
How inventive! I wonder how many proxy stargate variants could work with skipping warp gate. Hitting 10-20s earlier can make all the difference.
Start as a zerg, steal a worker with an infestor and beat your opponent with his own race
YESS BRO, THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!
he’s done it before, but only made a nexus

Can you pick up an enemy worker in an overlord if your infester is controlling it?

I think a fun challenge would be "The Templar Brothers". You just rush High Templar and Dark Templar. Archons allowed of course.
Yooo…. I was the barcode Zerg. I had no idea this was uthermal until I just watched the games.. gg wp
Interestingly this challenge will be much stronger in the new patch.
