Another great update!! Menard's has me very excited. They seem to be trying to keep this hobby fun, traditional, and AFFORDABLE! Carrying on the the legacies of Louis Marx and Maury D. Klein! I wish them them success a thousand fold!

It’s good to see traditional tinplate track and switches being offered, because it is easy to work with!!!

Did anyone see the remote for the switch is in the shape of a steam locomotive?

Again see if you guys who use O-27 track and switches can get Menards to make O-27 track and switches.

I wasn't surprised that there new switches already sold out. we all understand that this is a bata test .That they want to get it right before releasing the final probuct.I just hope they don't drag their feet with them. While taking so long to get to the final product.Like they did with their F-7 locomotives.

Great report Mike! One little thing, the Cuyahoga Valley runs Alco FPA diesels, not PA models but trust me, Cuyahoga Valley fans aren't going to care! That's a beautiful model and it'll be a good seller.
Those Menards switches look good, and I like the mini-steam engine push-button unit. Very clever!
    Thanks for posting!

Yes, @wayneantoniazzi2706, but is the livery wrong? That's not what the CVSR engines look like.

@@SchoolhouseStudioArts Beats me. I'm not a big Cuyahoga Valley expert. I've seen photos on occasion but have never been there myself.

Yes. The actual CV units are FPA4s. I believe.

@@ToyTrainTipsAndTricks Well the CV must love Alco FPA's, they recently purchased an FPA4 and an FPB4 from the Grand Canyon Railway. I think I've read they's also interested in the FPA owned by the Napa Valley Wine Train but can't find any other information on that.
One thig IS certain, the CV does intend to be "Alco Central" in their neck of the woods!
One last thing, those RailKing PA's are a good substitute for FPA's, being selectively compressed they're not as long as a scale PA would be, the proportions look good.

Just got a LH switch in the mail, going to do some testing this week and post results on my channel, so far just by glancing it over seems well built but the instructions are skimpy, such as no info on the switch machine as reverse mounting it like a Lionel to get the machine out of the way….. will see as I get into it

The major problem I see with these new switches is availability. Because.
Once menard's works out all the kinks with these beta test batches. Availability keeping them in stock is going to be the problem. Because if the price of these Beta tests reflect the final product price. I really believe we'll be seeing availability problems. Because to get any new switche from any of the current manufacturers Is expensive. Switch only get more expensive the wider the radius. But I really believe this is something that menard's will have to work out that they don't realize yet.
