Exactly, what is gained by adapting them? An adaption of a videogame should be completely transformative, like the Sonic movies. They're nothing like the games in terms of story, world design or even characters, and they're perfectly fine kids movies.

Also in a game you have replayability making different choices in different playthroughs. A show will remain the same and you are basically done with it after one viewing (except for REALLY good shows).

God you're stupid, learn to get a point. The guy is referring to the disconncect between gameplay and narrative. Death in cut scenes? Handled well. When you kill thirty fucking people between those cut scenes? Not so much, they're meaningless (Most of the time, the fire fly fight at the end is an obvious exception) and just serve to remind you 'this is a video game'. The people you kill mean nothing, their deaths mean nothing. Writing those out of existence (Again, not including exception likes Joel playing DOOM in the firefly base) would be easy and change very little overall

Lawyer here. I am not super familiar with Romanian criminal law, but as a general rule for most free countries, a defendant isn't held for trial if they aren't a danger to the community (i.e. committing a serious crime or interfering with the investigation) and if the court believes they are likely to show up to future hearings and the ultimate trial, should it come to that. There are TONS of quirks, complications, and exceptions to those two statements, but that is generally how it works and is likely what happened here. It says nothing about his innocence, the weight of the evidence, or how things are likely to turn out. It just says that the authorities don't think detaining him as this develops is necessary. The charge, of course, are what really matter, and they're bad.
He is being held for 30 days by order of Romanian court. They clearly feel he is a threat and that there is substantial evidence to be found and build a case. Police have already found 6 victims. This is all very basic stuff I implore people to do current news searches.
He was never released, people are being dumb, the 24 hours were not even up. He was probably just given a phone while at the courthouse so he could check his social media. The arrest has been extended to 30 days, because there's clearly a flight risk involved due to him being a foreigner.

You could just learn more about the French-based legal systems found in Europe, Romania being included there, and most European countries as well.
Arrests will be permitted if the evidence is solid, and if the procedures have not yet been finished and the potential criminal is deemed a flight risk.

It's watchable movie and the actions in it kinda makes sense and doesn't stray toooo far away from the RE logic. Personally can't recall a video game adapted movie that got me wanting to play said game, aside from maybe anything pokemon related . But that's more tied to pleasant nostalgia since Pokemon is always enjoyable to do a run .
I wonder if the film industry in general looks down on video games and that's why pretty much all game adaptations are awful. It's probably a combination of talented people saying no to the projects and the people who can't say no being not very good and also hating the source material.

I can see that. What are the chances that a film project is passed onto a team thats actually filled with people passionate about the videogame IP. People don't want to take the risk of removing 'safe' directors or even listening to people involved in or who love the games.
it's weird how animation studios make their adaptations of video games so amazing to the point where they're considered masterpieces and are able to surpass other animated movies which are not adaptations of a video game and live action studios just take a big dump on everything from the CGI to the writing and yet claim to have "improved" over the actual video game story.

13:41 I have heard this before, and I’m not entirely sure of how accurate it is in regards to The Last of Us, but a lot of screenwriters hate doing adaptations b/c they don’t like having to stick to an existing narrative, which doesn’t really make sense when you think about why they agreed to write for the show in the first place, but it happens often.

I've recently been recommended a bunch of solid Star Wars fan films and even saw a trailer of King Vader's Strange Blades. I wish I knew more about these industries because it seems like a no-brainer to at least bring someone passionate about the project to help in some capacity. I'm not talking Kevin Feige levels of passion for Star Wars, but something in that vein at least.

tl;dr - It's the initial detention period while the Romanian judiciary prepares for further investigation and trial, and can be extended as needed.

the last of us was primarily filmed in my city in the canadian prairies, it’s actually very tedious to establish productions here for large studios but we were virtually the one place in north america with covid restrictions limited enough that they could film during the height of 2021 covid infections
a burger shop i frequented at the time was a block from one of the roads they had dressed for a set and for two weeks every time i went at lunch there was production crew grabbing a bite, and seeing my own neighbour hood across the series is interesting, but any marvel is diminished by my knowledge of why they were here in particular

I think everything you said was accurate except the pizza box. I am positive the Romanian authorities knew where he was at and weren’t just actively waiting for him to drop a hint on twitter. Even if that were true best case scenario the pizza was a unique mom and pop shop that they then called and asked if they got any orders from Andrew Tate. It’s so dumb, I don’t follow Tate at all and even I knew he was in Romania I’m sure the authorities had to have known his address was on his visa
Romania is very corrupt, could be that the arrest was on hold because nobody wanted to find him as he was paying off local police, but the pizza box made some people higher up interested. It's all guesswork but the video leading right to the arrest is no coincidence

If you see acting as "The reak stuff" then you are stuck in the mentality "games are the thing the nerds do". The same with animation is for kids logic. Now that i think about is with the amount of CGI used in "REAL" movies, and the effort put in the animation in video games, i would say games are way more impresive.And some games could be pased as animated movies if the cinematics are conected properly.

I am playing Java edition right now on my RTX 3070 Ti with shaders and they are just barely stable.
Minecraft can't properly take advantage of the RTX RT cores sadly, SEUS shaders run like crap at an unstable 28-30 FPS
Bedrock has RTX but it sucks. I tried the RTX world and its an illusion mostly, go outside and see strange destroyed lighting everywhere
