I'm glad someone was able to get out and enjoy a ride, across on the East coast it was blowing a hoolie and although my bigger bikes are pretty stable recording audio would have been impossible. There's no way I could remain calm like that when the white van pulled out, I view such incidents as attempted murder. Thanks for showing us the choppy surf, I'm not surprised though that folks weren't out on the beach 🌬️🌊🌊
Honestly, I'm so laid back I should be dead....I've had cars cause near accidents and I've avoided, and moved on and then the car behind me peeps at them and I'm like 'oh yeah, I probably should have done that huh'....I just ride like I'm invisible and expect all that crazy nonsense and then it never really scares me enough to make me fully react...I just maybe swear or have a little mutter about it, but I probably should be more irate...it is potential death when these clowns dont look properly. ...the wind hit about 50mph here at one point but was only approx 40mph gusts when I was out for this vid. The night before riding home was worse...but I've definitely adapted to riding in the wind now 🤣
I think the white car assumed the other was going straight through the mini roundabout and pulled into the side of the other as it went round ....they all seemed shaken but alright at least ...the goretex boots were needed when I got wet feet in a torrential downpour last year 🤣 but didn't want to wear them in the winter cause of the salted roads ...a little counter productive but by next winter I won't mind so much 🤞🏻
Nice to get out and blow the cobwebs away. I haven't been out for a week or so on the bike as I'm full of a cold... yuk. As for the car and the van, great biking... oh look, a busted car!...ride past. Oh look, a van trying to side swipe me.... ride past. I picked up a small Denalli sound bomb at the bike show, 115db. The other day I was on a large roundabout and an elderly lady in a little car looked like she was going to pull out on me, so I used the Police / IAM Toot Toot! to warn her I was there.... nothing, she just came on out. I am now close to her drivers door, so can see her clearly TOOT! TOOTOOTOOTOOTOOT! Nothing. No reaction at all. She did not see me or hear me and I ride a VStrom 650 with crash bar lights... so 4 forward facing lights. Stay safe everyone, they walk / drive among us! Hope you have a great summer. I'm planning on being in Scotland in both May (for a week) and June (for another week).... I can't wait.
Yeah, I'm too chilled when I ride, just accept ,adjust and move on....I should take my frustrations out on these idiots ...but I'm just like...nope, not killing my chill....I hope we serve you some excellent weather for your visits...but enjoy then either way 👌🏻
Well you had your share of incompetent drivers right off the bat to start your ride. That one on the mini roundabout had already hit one and maybe thought about going for the double-whammy with you... and then the white van looked (did they?) but failed to see (definitely!) Maybe that wind meant everyone had something in their eyes! The views of the sea were very good.
I think that mini-roundabout was so poorly marked that the banged up car driver might not even have recognised it as a roundabout. The state of UK roads has really deteriorated over the years. I'd blame the Tories but the SNP have to take responsibility for the shocking state of Scottish roads.
They filled it, then pretended to fix it with a thin skim over the top and in no time it was destroyed worse than before. They blame the car cruise ...I blame shoddy repairs.

I put a Denali on my own bike. On my wife's bike I installed one of them plus two loud car horns. That might have woken the old dear up!

It's quite dreadful in most places in the UK it seems. They are never close to fixing them all regularly enough.
