They take the start of the descant (12:39) at a hell of a lick! An enjoyable performance - not least because of the obvious enjoyment of all participants.
I'm really picky about this song and you made it the most amazing way. Really you made me cry. Thank you for the experience. It was my dream come true.
I didn’t know what to make of this performance, it had everything. Enthusiasm by the bucketful, great playing, beautiful singing and as for the conductor, I thought he was going to take off! Better “cannon” effect than a lot of performances and the full number of eleven in the right order at the end. Such beautiful, handsome musicians as well. I hope to see this performance many times in the future.
Wonderful performance! BRAVO! THANK ! Low bow to you! With love from Russia!!!
Absolutely stunning performance by this orchestra and choir I usually watch a different version of this on TH-cam but like others am well impressed with this, congratulations to you all for the extraordinary amount of practicing you must have done to achieve this level well done to you all.
This takes me back to my high school days when our inspired liberal curriculum provided an option for Music Appreciation. I think the first recording we heard was the 1812, with a preamble from our music master filling us in on the historical context. This was back in the 60s, so goodness knows what the equipment was like compared to what you have today, nevertheless I was bowled over and asked my parents to get this piece as one of the first recordings we had from their classical record club. I went on to study Russian for my degree and still believe Tchaikovsky to be a genius (albeit a tortured one) and he sure knew how to deliver a stirring finale fortissimo with (literally here) all guns blazing (cf Symphony no 2 and the third movement of no 6). Swan Lake is another of my favourite pieces for so many miniature masterpieces. Fabulous melodies and great exploitation of the full orchestral range, the consummate composer of the Romantic period imo.
really an incredible performance. I was at Mussorgsky's Khovanschina concerto 1981 NYC, where this piece of Igor Buketoff's 1812 was incorporated into the final piece. THANK YOU HKFO!
There are no words! Awesome performance. Ah, what a fine fellow !!! Bravo! BRAVO!!! I applaud you from Russia !!!
Absolutely stunning, WOW BEAUTIFUL and powerful, too BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!!!!!!! The only minor thing is the cannons, I was expecting to hear more of a heavy BOOM and they sounded more like a loud pistol
Fantastic performance and I love the conductor, he is a hoot! Is this the National Youth Orchestra of China? They are so young and as for the choir, age range 6-20? Unbelievably professional and fantastic singers. A true joy indeed!
Agreed. Definitely some ensemble synchronization issues as well as some woodwind and brass intonation and note accuracy issues. It looks like a young group. It’s fun to see the chorus as part of this arrangement.
The ending is "God Save the Tsar": "Боже, Царя храни.

Wow. Just wow. So glad I clicked on this video to listen to instead of the one I normally do when wanting some 1812. It was perfect. Just beautiful.

How did the instrumentalists next to the explosions not have a heart attack lol I would jump every time 😂😂😂
Each conductor have its own touch. . I like this one
it's all good as long as they dont rush it. so many performances of 1812 are ruined by too fast tempo.
Standing ovation from me. That was terrific.
Really great version!!! Really inspiring and having the "cannon fire" was really unexpected, especially indoors.
what did they use i wonder
Great performance by youngsters full of talents
EXTREMELY GOOD!!!!!!
👏👏👏👏👏
I love how they sound and I am gonna put it into a new year countdown!

nice performance but did you really need 8:30? did Tchaikovsky call for a kid's choir in Chinese?
