    The ACA is stressful and the exams are difficult, I'm only 9 exams in but it definitely is a rollercoaster of emotions! Worth it though. 2 strikes and you're out for most firms as well 🥺✌️

    Just come across your channel and loving the videos! Sorry if you have covered this previously, but curious to know if you stayed with the same company from the beginning of your studies or moved jobs whilst moving in order to gain a promotion?
    If you did, wondering if would have tips for applying for positions that are higher up the ladder. Cheers

    • @CRAIGO10
      @CRAIGO10  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Charlie! I myself stayed at the same company & I have no intentions to move anytime soon. I love it there & have had plenty of opportunities!
      Good Question - Let me explain why I believe you should stay put. First of all, your progression through your studies should be helping you to obtain internal promotions. Also, when studying your qualification, the level of qualification which you are on will determine fairly visibly what level you are. For instance (extreme example here), it would take a company a lot externally to bring someone new into the organisation on £50-60k IF you are only on the operational level of CIMA. A 'promotion' as a student may be worth £5k, but in the grand scheme of things this isn't a lot.
      I also believe there's an ideal time for negotiating a 'worthwhile' promotion externally & in my opinion, while a student, this isn't the ideal time. I would say 2/3 years after fully qualified would be the ideal time to gain a promotion, it will give you a far greater power to negotiate bigger salaries, bonuses, benefits (company cars, healthcare etc). You're now fully qualified, more experienced & have real achievements behind you.
      Also, just a point to consider, you'll need to also cover the costs of your qualification & hope that your new employer will cover them.
      I hope this helps?
      Thanks,
      Craigo!

      Instead of it being for money, I’m in a position I’m looking to from AP/AR tasks to more Management Accounting tasks (var analysis etc)

      Ah okay, I can see your problem now! As long as you can show you’re working towards your CIMA qualification, then I think you’ll do just fine trying to get into a MA role! 😀

    Nothing more tormenting than to wake up in the middle of the night recalculating an exam answer in your mind and realising what you actually put in the exam was total rubbish😒

      You know it my man, fortunately it’s only the case studies where this matters. OTs will have a result on the day. But yes - it’s the worst!!! Thought I’d screwed my SCS when going over what I’d done in the exam!

    Hey craigo, can u recommend a few tips for people pursuing CIMA from other countries, or a video about it would be cool.cus the syllabus background may match the one's in the uk but sometimes differ in many countries. And can u suggest some of the best countries which has high scope for cima professionals. Lastly,I'm a fan of urs from abroad! Explore and pls let me know some ideas. thanks!😀

      Very tough as I have zero knowledge of other countries I’m afraid. All of my videos are from a British perspective & should give you a good idea of what to expect. UK, India, South Africa are three big countries for CIMA. Thank you so much for the support 😀
