    X-noise is an excellent plug-in, but you have to use the "learn" button at a part of the clip that has only noise. It's how the plug-in knows what it's supposed to remove. If you do that, you can make stunning, effectively zero-noise-floor mixes. In many situations, you can use it to hear old analog recordings better than the engineer who mixed them. Download a trial version, and, read the manual. You'll be impressed.

      would you reccomend X or Z-noise for low level traffic noise (recording room not isolated enough) and mid level room reverb removal? tnx!

      @@ekredel It depends on how consistent the traffic noise is. The more smooth and even it is, the more x-noise shines. I am curious about what you're working with. If you send a clip to lawren.lelko@gmail.com, I'll be able to hear what you're trying to do.

    I'm learning audio for voice overs and this was the best noise reduction vid I found. I do some techno so I have waves plugins but never knew I had these. Big hugs from Detroit.

    7:16 You forgot to turn off the Analog button in the CLA 76 which adds more noise

    I tried this to reduce cassette tape hiss from the language tapes that I digitised by transferring to PC. It wasn't convincing, in that it slightly reduced top-end and produced audio artifacts. I found that using a gate plugin was better. I initially tried using the free GGate, but it failed to completely remove hiss from the first few microseconds of wanted sound. Then I tried (the also free) ReaGate, and it was perfect.

    When don´t You use the "Learn" button on Waves x- and z- plugins?

    • @juneaftn
      @juneaftn 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      without learn button and the noise profile, those plugins seem to do high-shelf only.

      Izotope plugins do a great job of noise reduction the only difference is they have a learn feature that samples the noise!

    Really digging your videos. I noticed that you have the behringer headphone amp. I was wondering how you like it? I'm thinking about getting one.

    It would be nice and great to have the list of the plugins in the description, instead of trying to find them in a 25 min video. The presentation is somewhat frustrating, and similar to a film narrative, best to start wide, and go for closeups. What is the video? What is the noise? What are the plugins? What are the before and after? These are the wides. these should be the first two minutes of the video. The closeups are the settings, which setting for which plugin? These constitute the HOW TO part of the video, the remainder of the video. Otherwise, we don't know where we are, what you are doing, and it's all in your head, but not in our eyes and ears. Basic presentation skills: What's the goal? What's the present situation? What is the after situation? What is the side by side? What did we use to solve our problems? How did we solve our problems? Reflecting on the process? These are basic storytelling steps.
