I'm at work as well. Night shift; 2:47 am. I could go for some whisk(e)y.

I agree with delightful D on this one. Just a fruit bomb front to back. It definitely lacks balance and is a tad ethanol-y on the nose but it’s a really fun dram. The price does hinder it. I passed for 140 and I’m not feeling the fomo too bad. For 110 on the shelf it would be a solid value.

I have the RB 12yr CS and the regular Green Spot and have been pleased with both. I continuously pass on the Yellow Spot because I can't justify the $110 that TW wants for it. Kinda glad I passed on this one too.

      The Yellow Spot is excellent.
The Gold Spot , for me, was enjoyable and for $99 was well worth buying. I bought another.

It makes me cry when you guys are talking about Green Spot in the $40-$50 dollar range when it is almost $80 here in Idaho thanks to stat liquor control

This is a definite GOLD guys. Not sure what your tasting! It's full of flavor with a great mouth feel. You really need to come back to this. This is one of the few times I completely disagree with the total score.

Dillon has a point here with grading limited edition on a curve; but then they will have to graded on a special curve on everything else. No easy 9 for something so special that celebrate 135th anniversary 😉

$145 at Total Wine, but it seems pretty scarce. For me, with a basic unsophisticated palate, I'm not sure that's worth it. Have y'all done a Spot Drink-Through™? (It sounds like you might have. I'll have to search the archives.)

Sounds funny but I will throw my glass of whiskey in the microwave for 6 seconds when it's cold

Missed it on this one guys.
Limited editions can be a pain especially due to costs but Gold Spot is 99-130 where it is sold. Hate the secondary peeps but not Spot’s fault. Heck, I see Gold Spot for $99 at Costco.
Jules normally enjoy the laughter but come on a 72 is kinda of a joke.
I am a big fan of the yellow and red.
This is a solid whiskey. Not everyone’s jam I get but certainly not a dismissive one that this video kinda gives it.
Keep fighting the good fight Delightful Dillon 😂

Thanks for the interesting review - Middleton releases have been underwhelming lately for me. Too much ethanol and questionable balance on a number of their bottlings. Might be introducing more young whiskey and heavily re-used casks than in some of their previous batches. Decent product, but not worth the hype and the heavy mark-ups.

Just a thought but why don't you do a video on the scoring and refer to it at the beginning if people want to see how it's scored. I don't think repeating it all the time adds value.

Got it for msrp. Figured could trade it one day for a fanboy *cough dillon* cough to finish their spot lineup.

Dillon no doubt has the best palate. I have a bottle of GS. Its very good...not even close to just average. He knows what he is drinking and understands the categories....Jules...well clueless. ...smh. Wouldnt trust his opinion in the least. Nice job Dillon.

There is a limited number of these bottles a good long term investment over the next 10 years
I think you guys had a good few drinks off other whiskey before opening in the gold spot 😅

You guys have got to know that Whisky Spotting is a thing.....I've seen people almost come to blows over the single bottle of Blue Spot in my local liquor store. Collectors want all the Spots, so they are willing to pay outrageous prices for the more rare bottles. I've been able to obtain the lineup from green to red so far, but after all the reviews on the gold, I'm gonna pass.
