He is refering to chole and moongdal as carb loading... When they are basically dals which are pulses, legumes that are rich in protein primarily and also contains carbs along with many many micronutrients.
I donno what to say. It seems that For him if any meat is not there, then it's pure catbs😂😂
The main unhealthy part in all these are the oil deep fry, cheese, potato tikkis and the breads made of maida.
But this guy only calls out the dals as carb loading and not the cheese... 😂😂
This guy doesn't even know the difference between paneer (cottage cheese) and normal cheese.
He thinks, paneer is artery blocking, just like a normal cheese.
I hope he does his homework before making such videos... Such a shame.
Obviously the options shown in the video are all junk foOd, and fast food... But miscategorizing healthy ingredients as unhealthy and ignoring the actually unhealthy ingredients in the food is unacceptable for someone who "survives" by vlogging about food....
His statement "how such a huge population SURVIVES without meat" is a joke..!!
He doesn't know the half of it. How tasty and healthy vegetarian food can be... Especially the homemade food (I'm not talking about street food/fast food or outside food).
Many people don't eat non-veg either for moral reasons or religious reasons.
But there are many people who don't eat non-veg just because they don't LIKE the taste/look/smell of it... I myself being an example of that. At least for me the mere sight of nonveg is nauseating and unappealling.
Even I can say that how can so many people across the globe eat non-veg...!!!
But i won't ask that as I understand everyone has their own tastes and opinions and i respect that.
It's arrogance on this guy's part to merely say "how can they SURVIVE without meat"... As if Meat is oxygen or something....
Especially a foreigner who doesn't know anything about taste or flavours, who regularly eats either highly processed foods or defrosted frozen foods or bland foods without any salt or spice or flavors need not tell me what tastes better.... 🤣
    Edit:
I'll be addressing some arguments about vegetarianism in the comments:
Some say that not every location can grow crops so they had to eat meat.. they are delisional.
Even in an extremely cold Countryside like Sweden, the vegetables are pretty cheap and widely available (this info if from a personal friend living there).
So that availability argument doesn't work in 2023.
Killing and eating animals for the pleasure of tongue while foods that cause lesser harm like vegetables are available is not something to be proud of.
Of course I'm not saying eating nonveg is bad as everyone has their own moral compass and if they themselves are selfaware and know the implications of eating meat, I am perfectly fine in someone eating nonveg.
But at least in 2023 in majority of the locations ( maybe except extreme places like Siberia or Antarctica) eating nonveg is A CONSCIOUS CHOICE and not a compulsion.
So, people like the guy in the video assuming that eating nonveg is a norm just because they live in their own bubble and assume things is not correct. In fact the condescending way that he was describing vegetarianism is in itself very arrogant.
Also, I saw another argument that due to high carb diet Indians have higher health issues. I agree with that.
But at the same time it's not because of the vegetarian diet, but NOT ALL VEGETARIAN DIET IS CARBS.
Infact proper vegetarian diet can have THE HIGHEST AMOUNT OF FIBRE.
The health issues are mainly because of the diet pattern and eating habits.
Our ancestors are majorly agriculture based, so they used to have huge physical activity because of which they needed lots of carbs and energy.
Thus our civilization has been rice based or wheat based ... Which carb high.
Our ancestors used to eat all sorts of nutritious veggies, pulses, legumes, along with huge portions of rice or roti.
Our ancestors also used to eat millets in certain areas where such crops are staple.
However, in 21st century our lifestyle became sedentary and we hardly have any physical activity.
Thus, we have to alter our eating habits by increasing the veggies, curries, dal and reducing the portion of carbs (rice/roti). Of course we can also shift to millet based counterpart and still eat rice/roti which is even more healthier, fibre rich and calorie deficit foods.
This will alone change and rectify the health issues Indians are facing in 2023 due to high carb diet.
Eating millet based vegetarian diet or Vegetarian with lower portions of rice/roti is sufficient for healthy life.
The issues like B-12 deficiency is also a non issue as long as we are consuming the B-12 source of food that we are habituated to from our childhood like ghee, curd, milk, soy or fermented foods or certain lentils, eggs etc... whichever our body got habituated from childhood.
No need to shift to nonveg.. as long as we reform our vegetarian diet patterns.
Ofc nonveg eaters can't and shouldn't shift to vegetarian diet suddenly as their bodies are used to absorbing nutrients like B-12 from meat and so their body needs time to adapt to vegetarian diet.
But saying nonveg is superior is wrong, as long as we have healthy eating habits.
Non-vegetarian might be more dense in certain nutrients, but they also have certain side effects. And on top of that, nonveg production is environmentally damaging, morally ambiguous and has many more issues.
So, if you like vegetarian diet and obviously have an option not to eat non-veg, that's always better option. But it has to be done wisely.
Of course as long as those who eat non-veg are aware of the implications and still like and choose to eat non-veg, it's their choice. And I don't see any problem with that too.
But, being a vegetarian is not inferior in anyway. That's my main point.
The mere arrogance, superiority complex and condescending tone added with his ignorance about nutrition (thus miscategorizing healthy ingredient as carb and unhealthy ingredients as good choice...) is what is the problem here.
If he just speaks about the taste through his vlogging, there is no issue, but miscategorizing and giving illinformed erroneous statements due to his own ignorance and with an underlying patronizing, arrogant attitude is very problematic.
