    FYI, I reused the felt backing on the stock speakers by putting them on the back of the new spacers to prevent any vibrations. Also, do you not have the 1" tweeters on the top of the dash at the base of the A-pillars? I didn't bother changing mine because I couldn't find any direct fit aftermarket speakers and the OEM Honda's were overpriced. Lastly, where did you source the rear stabilizer bar?

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Re-using the felt is always a good idea... the more protection you have against rattling, the better 👍.
      My LX doesn't have stock tweeters (I checked just to make sure 😅). But since there is a tweeter mounted on each new speaker, it definitely improved the high & mid range sounds overall (when compared to the factory setup).
      And finally, I found the rear upper shock tower bar on Amazon. The brand is Ultra Racing and they make a lot of different chassis reinforcement products for the 8th Gen Civic.

    Great speakers for sure! Just installed them yesterday but I am having a slight problem where the whole audio system cuts out if I open or close the door sometimes it comes back but it still goes out so I'm trying to figure out the problem there... but for sure great sounding speakers would recommend relatively easy install.

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do all the speakers go out when you open a door? Or is it just the one speaker that is attached to the door that you opened? 🤔

    • @rockstargmr9427
      @rockstargmr9427 ปีที่แล้ว

      @LevelUpMechanics it is all the speakers in car that go out. When I open my door they usually work fine but when I'm driving they work for a bit but if I hit a bump they go out...I can usually get them to work again If I smack the door but it usually goes out again.

    • @rockstargmr9427
      @rockstargmr9427 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know for sure I didn't knick any wires when drilling. When I put the left side in first everything worked perfectly fine it wasn't until I installed the right side passenger is when I had problems. I thought that it could be a faulty speaker so I switched places and still had the same problem... I'm really hoping I can figure this out because it has been bothering me all day 😅

Because I have a 07 civic hybrid with the navigation head unit and I'm not sure if they came with that or not unless they all came with a premium sound system with Amps and what not...just a question I thought I'd ask

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all 8th Gen Civics come with a factory premium sound system. Some (like my LX) came only with a basic sound system.
      A good way to know what you have is to go to crutchfield.com and select your vehicle (and answer the questions about your vehicle specifics). Doing so well tell you more info about which factory sound system you have.

      Yes, I ended up purchasing all Honda OEM parts. New OEM roof rail moldings (including all new clips) and "door tape" for all 4 doors.
      Trying to remove the old "door tape" turned out to be extremely difficult and unnecessary. I found that as long as you cleaned the surface first, you can just put the new "door tape" on the existing tape and it will look brand new again.

      @@LevelUpMechanics hey there I've just installed a Pioneer TS-G1610F on the front doors & did noticed some improvement like the sound is clearer and a bit louder, bass improved a lil as well. I do have some follow up questions though hope you won't mind!
      Scenario: Planning to install two more for the rear part.
      1. Can I use a different model? For a example a JBL this time around. Would there be any complications? (Although I'm leaning towards buying the same model as the one on the front doors).
      2. If I decided to install an aftermarket headunit as well, can I expect the sounds to be "more" better compared to the stock HU?
      Honestly want a lil more bass. But do I really need a subwoofer for that? (Let's assume I already have installed the 4 speakers and an aftermarket HU).
      P.S.
      Can you recommend a headunit that'll make my sounds better while not being too pricey lets say 100-200 dollars maybe.

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @tutuy-mm2be I'm glad your sound quality improved 😁👍.
      1. You can totally use different speakers for the rear. You shouldn't experience any complications.
      2. An aftermarket head unit could definitely help to improve overall sound quality.
      3. Upgrading your rear speakers will definitely improve your bass sounds. Although, I must say that the JBL Basspro Nano subwoofer that I have for my setup makes the bass sound 10x better.
      4. I really don't have any experience with any $100-$200 budget-friendly head units that I could recommend. You'll probably have to do a bit of research to find one that will suit your needs & budget. I would definitely do some research on www.crutchfield.com
      They have a lot of good info and all sorts of head unit options to research.
      I hope this info helps! 😁 👍
