When she popped in with the 12 hydrangeas, I thought to myself,”Now this is the Laura that , I know and love!”In three years this corner will be sublime.
That hydrangea area is going to be glorious! *Please stop worrying so much about the sounds in the background of your videos. Whenever you apologize about noise, I start listening just to see if I can hear the nail-guns, tractor, lawn mower, roller, grader, hammering...I never hear anything. Same goes for other channels I watch (unless someone is chewing or snorting🤣), there's no need to worry over the background noise---we really can't hear it enough for it to be a distraction. Love your channel and love how it inspires this old lady to get out in the garden and dig.🌻
To realize what you have done in 71/2 yrs. Is beyond amazing !! Those birch trees look so good limbed up. Sooo many beautiful things!! You are a landscape artist Laura !
❤❤❤
Laura talking about Russian sage flopping while Douglas is doing the same in the background is exactly what I live for!
He’s the comic relief
Good morning to all the happy gardeners💕
Good morning to you as well! Have a blessed day 🙏🏻💕🤗
Do I hear Laura saying that the red flowers are pretty??? ☺️ Things do change and so have I with the red flowers as well 🌺
Good morning! Sweet Samantha warms my heart. She was born a week after my own granddaughter. Don't worry about the background noise. We don't hear it. Great show!
Who votes for an early fall/September garden tour of all the gardens, topped with Ariel views in the end????? I say, yes please❣️
Corner section at 22:45... maybe a stone wall with a small fountain and a stone trough into which the water is poured. The wall would create a surprise effect because when you drive that way you wouldn't be able to see what was behind it. Bougainvillea or Wisteria or the Mediterranean plant Rosmarinus officinalis var. prostratus can crawl along the stone wall. Hi from Croatia, Europa!
Good morning Laura and Samantha! Was great to see Samantha just loving her life, hanging out with Mom, playing in the dirt, and investigating the seed pods . So sweet. The drifts are going to be gorgeous. Hugs from N.C..❤
When you first announced that you had purchased the property behind the barn I thought how beautiful it would be if you made a huge drift of Russian Sage ... say 100 plants all massed together. Imagine the breezes blowing through that ... with an evergreen or two dotted amongst them. What a lovely place for your eyes to rest.
Watching you and Samantha out in your glorious space is priceless. Your kiddos are blessed to grow up in this magical space that you and Aaron are creating. Great job Mama and Dad!❤
Yep, imagine the memories those kiddos will have when they grow up. A place where every kid would love…kittens, chickens, beautiful flowers, ponds, fruit plants, I mean, it’s an unbelievable place.
That one corner with the bubblegum supertunias and the hydrangeas behind, is my absolute favourite part of your garden this year. So so beautiful. Wow!
Douglas is such a pretty cat ! Enjoy video!
Aww I agree. I am not much of a cat fan. However, he is really handsome!
It’s always such fun to see your enthusiasm and spunk, Laura! A blessing to watch Samantha play. ❤
The hydrangea drift and ground cover is going to be beautiful Laura! Good job!🫶🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The hydrangea corner/hedge is going to be gorgeous! One step closer! Red flowers? What did you do with Laura? Truth is, that is beautiful ❤️ 😍 . Red goes with a lot of colors, in nature you will find them all together and they don't clash. Can't wait for the big change of the flower garden! Have a blessed day ❤
Does it seem that some of the areas are getting just too busy with so many varieties of plants? Have you considered just letting some areas just remain barren? A huge boulder placed here and there around the property would be a great climbing and resting spot for both the eye and body? What about some random walls with some type of stones along the pathways, maybe for a hidden bench, fire pit, waterfall sculpture, or whimsical statue?
Glad to see Paul showing his face a little more these days! Laura and Aaron, we love you!
Samantha looked so sweet carrying her little basket. ❤️
Hi Laura and Aaron - I can hardly contain my excitement for all the projects going on in your garden spaces, you must be over the moon! ❤🎉 from Andrea 😊
A shout out to your new editor! (Sorry forgot your name, lol). He is doing a GREAT job!!
His name is Taylor 😊
Edit: I agree, great job Taylor!
Oooohhhh I love how the chicken coop looks. Amazing. I love how your property changes literally everyday. Live seeing little Samantha kickin around with momma. Be blessed. 🐝🐝🦋🦋
A blessed evening everyone!.
I love how won over Douglas!❤
Douglas was the cat that just showed up and was sleeping on the chair on her porch! Then he wasn't seen for a year. I guess Douglas decided to come back and live with Laura. 😂
Laura is the cat whisperer whether she wants to be or not😂
My hubs is the same….animals love him & he’s good with that.
RED in the garden? What happened to the old Laura?
I'm glad. I love all the beautiful colors!
Wouldn’t a small stone wall look amazing in the triangle spot? An entrance to the garden with beautiful containers on top.
Afternoon Everyone 🥰
So proud of you for putting that big swath of red in!
It looks great.
Like you, I think red is lovely, but I never really wanted it in my garden.
Maybe I'll give it a go next year.
Maybe a red dahlia here and there to start!
The foliage on the viburnum you planted is so pretty! I have other varieties of viburnum and may have to try that one. The many deer who frequent my yard do not seem to read the plant tags and my viburnums have suffered. I love my deer and I will learn to love wire plant cages...... LOL. I am hoping if the viburnums can get some size, they might leave them alone. Oh, well. Living with nature. Sometimes when you are filming in your garden, the view behind you, takes my breath away.
Try Deer Out spray to keep the dear dears from eating your best plants! It’s 100% natural and ingredients include peppermint, garlic, white pepper, etc. it works for me! And it can be used in edible plants and flowers! Good luck! Happy day to you!
Thank you. I might try it too. They’re eating my oakleaf hydrangeas and my red twig dogwood. They’re relentless!
Mine are relentless, too. the young deer will eat seemingly anything that doesn’t walk away. Even things are “resistant!” My spring plantings are especially vulnerable!
Samatha is a sweetheart. Such a fun helper. Everything is looking so good. The hydrangeas will be awesome there and the new shrub will give a different feel to the chicken coop bed. It is amazing to see all you have accomplished in these 7+ years. Have a blessed day everyone.
If Paul ever decides to move from your area, he will have about 1.92 million job offers.
I am absolutely Loving your mass planting! Large blocks of color...Red !!! Yes, red works well in your garden planted this way!
Loving alll the new projects!
What is the red dahlia actually called?
I'm looking forward to seeing those hydrangeas next year. I love viburnums. So many beautiful things to see in each and every episode. I'm so grateful for all the information and Laura's knowledge and especially the inspiration. This is my favorite TH-cam channel, and I recommend it all the time.
Your imagination for your land is amazingly beautiful.
Keep cool❤❤❤❤
12 hydrangeas, WOW! That is going to be glorious!! I agree, start with a few plants to get a vision going and add from there. Your visions amaze me! From a dirt land to this is beautiful already! We have the wrath of spurge here in zone 5a also. I even find it in my grass...UGH
I have no doubt, Laura, that your planting vision (surprise around every bend) will be EXACTLY how you envisioned it. So far, all of your plans (Aaron's too) have turned out Great!
Can't wait to see the area with all 12 hydrangeas in bloom.❤
Love your videos, and can't wait to see what you do for Christmas. I understand the noise factor, they are building a large house beside us and the noise has been non-stop all summer. I cherish Sundays when no one is working, otherwise it drives me crazy all week. The dust and dirt aren't so good either.
Hello there! Douglas seems to have calmed down a bit in his feistiness and is enjoying lots of love now. Has he adapted well into the Kitty Cat Crew?
Great job Aaron and Paul. Love the dark red dahlias and the Russian Sage. I am definitely planting those. ❤
Your gardens are so green and lush that it gives the illusion of cool even though you've had a blistering hot summer. It's all so very beautiful. The Supertunia is awesome! Everywhere you plant it is improved by it's beauty and beautiful Samantha has improved this video. Have a wonderful day!🤗💙🤗
All those hydrangeas are going to look amazing! You have a great eye for plant design. I'm in Utah, zone 7, and I never would've thought with our heat that I could have hydrangeas in my full sun yard until you showed me it's possible. Thank you Laura, have a wonderful day!
Hello neighbor! I’m in south Utah county. Laura’s advice is definitely helpful for us here. I’m constantly referring people to her videos.
How about some kind of garden art in that triangle that's not planted in the south garden?
Good Morning,!!! Having my morning ☕☕☕ and watching Garden Answer.😊
Laura after watching your videos for sometime I've become a lover of hydrangeas. Ten Grace my gardens.
Gorgeous!! Learning your process of creating a beautiful garden in a blank space is incredibly helpful for me as I am going through a similar experience! Let's grow together! ❤
❤❤❤Douglas!! ❤❤❤❤ The pallet walkway!! ❤❤❤ the “rooms” in the garden!! PLEASE DONT TAKE OUT THE WISTERIA TRELLIS😢!!
Thank you for showing the plant pics and names on the screen.
That was so helpful to follow along and understand which plant you were talking about.😊
I look forward to seeing how the Korean Spice Viburnums do as to the formation of berries. I have three Spice Baby in a mini hedge, planted in 2020. I planted a species one about 15' away (only space I had) and there has been no cross pollination. I think this is partly due to how early they bloom and there are not many pollinators around. The blooms do smell divine and you don't even have to put your nose to the bloom. They perfume the air.
Laura, you ABSOLUTELY NEED a Spice Girl Virburnum, also!! Mine has such beautiful fall color! I have both & they are wonderful plants. The berries are delicate and lovely.
I love watching you share your visions for the garden's future
That Bubble gum petunias are beyond amazing!
The bright pinks and purples in the garden are my favorite. It's looking lovely. I've been binge watching your channel to learn what I can do in my new home & yard.
So inspiring! I have 18 hydrangeas that I thought I would place in several places but now I have changed my mind! I will put them in one big and maybe one smaller bunch. Or if I can I will put them all in one area on mass! 🙏
"Hi Laura, do you ever watch your old video from when you first got the house? I started watching it and I am amazed at how much has changed and how much you have grown... Well done! Sending love from South Africa."❤
Laura I know red isn’t your favorite color for your flowerbeds BUT those red dalias and surrounding red flowers are gorgeous. Next year I’d love to see you plant more reds with whites. Such a beautiful pop of color!
When Samantha was breaking up the catkins it brought back memories of doing that as a child ❤
Thankyou so much for showing several zone four plants! I take a list of your suggestions and take it with me when going to garden centers. ❤️
While my focus is growing food in the city, I still learn so much from you.
I discover Super Hoops from this channel. I love how tall & wide they are!
They saved my young fall veggie transplants from a recent freak hail storm.
We are having a very tropical end of the summer, high temps and high humidity. I hate it but my plants are loving it 😂
Some of us get to live our lives seeing the fruits of our labors. And you, Laura, are definitely one of those amazing people!
Wow the red salvia and purple denim and lace look gorgeous together. I like their colors together and their shape kind of blends in nicely.
Our spurge is insane this year as well mid Atlantic region !
Love your visions for the future. Is there an app that can actually 'age ' your properties to show what 'might' be in 5 or 10 years.. it would be fun to see! Especially the trees. I live vicariously through your videos as I am unable to garden any more. Thank you for MY visions. 🦋
Love when you plant and discuss the plants. Such a help for me in my gardening. Also gives me inspiration when I see where you plant and what companions you plant with.
Everything is just so lush and full after such a brutal summer temps - I feel like in another 5 years your going to spend more time moving things that planting new because so much is going to grow over each other. 😅
That Bubble Gum petunia is amazing. I love seeing how you use plants over and over again.
I love it when you discuss your future ideas for the gardens . It gives so many ideas on how to put plants together and layering. Thanks Laura
I was so hoping you had been able to snag a reolacement for the birch that you lost, in your lstest tree haul. Hope you find one soon! Love that corner 😊
The area where you planted the Hydrangeas gave me some kind of mossy forest vibes. I love it!
It's always sweet to see Samantha out with her mom! Your property is beautiful and has come a long ways!😊 Hows your moms garden you helped her with and making sour dough bread.
Good morning!
Laura, Ever since you took that topiary from next to the chicken coop and put it in the south garden I’ve thought… “Laura, that would be a good spot for an ever green topiary “ in every video with the gardens your filling in. I love how it adds a little surprise of formality and living art. Would you consider adding more around all the new and south gardens?
I really love your focus on visual beauty, & on just moving stuff around until it pleases your eye!
Please, please make a t-shirt with Laura’s favorite sayings (My Word, Whoa!, etc.). It would make so many of us smile and would help me use alternative expressions when things go, um, awry.
Good morning! Beautiful plantings. Those 2 trees look better limbed up a little.
A weeping willow tree would look amazing in that spot!😊
The Hydrangea and ground cover area is going to be stunning. I love mixed borders more than anything but have a space like this gives the eye a delightful place to rest. Better than hardscape points of interest.
It's great to see how little by little (or lot by lot), your new big spaces are planted up and becoming beautiful!
We are a zone 3b/4 in Canada. Planted a number of the Denim and Lace Russian Sage and just loving it. Has grown so much in one season and attracts so many bees. Love it so much!
The work ethic of the people that you hired is pretty amazing. It is so hot, and they work so hard.
Love seeing cats & kids wonder into the background.
Today I got a kick out of Douglas rolling around on the pathway!
And Samantha cleaning the seat in the Gator!
Did Benjamin start school?
Your neighbors should go into the honey business. You plant the flowers, they collect the honey. 😉
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
It’s already quite miraculous 🍃
hello hello, at 22:55: what about another willow for that little corner? would be an awesome statement tree there. thanks for all the education and good vibes. martin from berlin
Amazing how plants can recover, thought I lost a row of lungwort to too much shade. Had the trees trimmed on a saturday and by tuesday they all had new leaves sprouting. The astilbe in that bed were also struggling, and I did have to replace one of them.
Wow on the supertunias! Who needs a berm when you have those! Looks like a little berm to me!
Gorgeous! Loved Samantha and Douglas visits! Aaron and Paul working. Laura planting. What more could we ask for! Love the Russian Sage!❤❤❤
Try some Lespedeza thunbergii 'Little Volcano' a great arching late season bloomer. Does great in my garden smells like honey when it blooms! It makes a wall of flowers!
I also have pink cascade lezpedeza under planted. it's a bit smaller with eariler pink blooms!
Good morning from Kentucky! 🙂 Always enjoy your videos! Your property is just looking amazing. So happy for your family. Have a blessed day! ❤
Laura - @ 18:30 you walked right past that gorgeous urn of flowers….I kept rewinding to watch it. It looks breathtaking! I wanted to say go back, go back (ha). Everything is beautiful but that certainly caught my eye. Excited to see the Korean Spice Viburnum…..I have been looking for one.
20:41 Whoa!!! Red flowers in the ground!!!
I much prefer the musical background over the machinery sounds of the auger. I also love hydrangeas!!
I remembered a fence/concrete piece you had when you moved in to this house- was thinking for that triangle spot you were discussing. Dug around in old videos , LOL ,2017 snowmageddon 😱 I cannot believe how many changes! AND I have been watching you guys since the beginning !! so if you remember that piece maybe you can go look at it and see if it would work in that spot?😛🙄
Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.
So loved seeing cute little Douglas ❤ And really enjoyed these planting projects. ❤❤❤
Love the hydrangeas and the lovely assistant you have helping you.
Good morning. Watching Aaron and Paul take the Vinal fence down. Just and fyi they make great raised bed. They don’t rot out like wood does. I love the ones my husband made for me.
Hi Laura and Aaron, I would love to see some more standard weeping plants in your garden. They could be planted on the corners or ends of beds in the dirt lands/your new area, I.e. weeping Crab Apple, weeping Mulberry, large weeping roses. These types of plants would give a focus and can be under planted with your other beautiful things. Just an idea. Di
I like hearing the discussions during projects. so I like the longer versions. I am so shocked how much red your garden
