    Russell is your support cat. He is there to remind you to take a minute, relax, and pet him♡ Just when I think your property can't be any more beautiful... you go ahead and pull the 500 boxwood card♡ What do you think inspired your love of formal gardens? Was it your visit to England? The drone footage was spectacular.

    Wow wow wow! The drone footage at the end really shows off the space. The informal gardens around it really do just bring it all together. There is some thing so pleasing to the eye about the combination of the informal and formal. Looking forward to your winter planning sessions. Loved watching all of you working together and the kids in the background. And of course, Russell.❤

    I have been following you since you had 24,000 subscribers , you living in your townhouse and I have loved watching you all these years .
    I talk about you at my job all the time when I’m referring to how to treat fruit trees in November January and March keep them healthy. I would love to meet you one day as you inspire so many people.

But I would love for you to occasionally do smaller projects for those of us that cannot afford to plant 500 boxwoods. I really miss things like the pallet walkway. Shopping with your mom and sister. Things that ordinary people can do and learn from. I am very happy for you! I know you have worked so hard for this. I’m wanting to put in a pond, but cannot afford a dream stream. You can extrapolate information from this project to scale it down. Plant one tree and circle/square it with boxwoods, fill in the center with annuals or perennials. She has a great video from a few years where Greg came for the first time and installed a baby pond less waterfall kit. She still has the kit and will be reinstalling it in the future.

    • @tonyaperry4763
      @tonyaperry4763 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I don't think I've seen a video where Laura has planted 500+ boxwood. It's definitely a huge project. She has and still does put out content that consists of small and medium-sized projects.
      I think this just happens to be a season where she is planting a larger area of land. The pond was also a very huge project this year. Their pond actually needed to cover a large area of land. They have added more property twice that I can remember. Oftentimes, it requires a large-scale project or two to fill the property you own. Yet, you can take any of her large-scale projects and scale down to any size. According to what fits your property. If she uses 9 plants in an area I may scale my back to 5 or even 3. Depending on the space.
      My property is only 3 acres. There is no way I could do many large-scale projects. Actually, my budget wouldn't allot for it. But I would love to take this formal project and design just one quadrant. A couple of projects I have completed in my yard are small, according to many of hers. A few projects may take more than one or even two seasons to complete because of my budget for said season. But that is gardening, you are never finished. You transplant and change areas or take some more of your yard and transform into garden.
      Your garden style preferences and the amount of property you are working with make a huge difference in the projects one chooses.

It's so beautiful. And I absolutely loved Aaron's drone footage at the end! What you have accomplished in this 3-acre blank canvas in four years is incredible!! I paused often to take it all in. I love the different areas with different styles and functions: the berries, the orchard, the loop, the grass yard, and now the formal cut flower space. I also noted how successful you've been with including all the different colors in each area, especially with the trees and shrubs--green, yellow, red, and blue. This design is amazing. I know it will be breathtaking by next year this time. Loving your vision for all your property. It seems like Benjamin and Samantha just join right in to help, play, and enjoy being outside with you both. A benefit to your whole family.

    I love the view that has the fountain in it with the flower shed at the end. I can see brick lined walkways, hydrangeas around the trees and roses and dahlias in formal quadrants still allowing for cutting. Isn’t it amazing how gardens evolve?

      Before they took out the triangle garden they had white guara that peeked out above the hedge that was so pretty! It added a nice textural contrast to the stiffness of the boxwoods. Whatever they choose, I’m sure it’ll be lovely!

    I teared up a little bit with excitement for the younger inner Laura who has been dreaming of this structured garden since her trip to England. I dare say this might top the Hartley in the long run. Congrats to the TEAM for making this happen. How satisfying it was to watch progress and those drone shots are Epic! Depending on how the jaker plants look, I’d plant the 6 boxwoods elSewhere in case a couple of the perimeter ones don’t make it through winter and you have the same size plants to plug back in the line.

    So beautiful! And the drone footage is fabulous! And I love watching you interact with your cats! Russell is a dear. I also have a real soft spot for Douglas. He has such a bold personality! I haven't seen him much in the last several videos. Hope he is doing well. Thank you for bringing us all along on this journey. It's like "sculpting nature" to create a beautiful interactive piece of art! I look forward to each and every video.
