The RKS spoiler from carbon creations could be the best I've seen.!! A few more internal support upgrades and I will definitely purchase the RKS. Love your content ! I've learned so much especially the video on how to properly jack the c5. I have a black 40k mile targa top the year 2000. Cammed, 4.10 gears, stiffened rear , Afr heads , corsa exhaust. I lucked out tbh! I sold a 2004 350z. I miss that car but the c5 is here to stay!! Your channel is helping my life lol take care thank you !!! Also take care vette owners! Drive safe! !!
FYI: As of Aug. 2024, the SLP spoiler has been resurrected, thankfully, as its my favorite. I expect mine to be delivered from RPI designs within the next 2 weeks paint matched to my gloss black C5. They say 4-5 week lead time for painted spoilers and I ordered it August 18th.
I can't leave anything alone and MY taste is to have the rear spoiler. I really like the subtle body colored one I have on my car. I think the rear needs something. I also have the front splitter to go along with it. I think the rear spoiler looks good with or without the splitter but the splitter needs a rear spoiler to make that work. C5s are notoriously cheap track and canyon machines, I destroyed my buddy's M2 Comp on a tight canyon with only bigger wheels and tires. You can fit 315 squared on these cars and really turn like a monster. Plus adding aero, better brakes and more cooling will make higher speed sections a cake walk and staying cool very easy.
Great options. Per your questions... Yes my favorite is the one that angles into the side body, past the end cap. I don't know the name however it is my choice. Regardless, thanks for your input and effort.
I like the ZR1 style for my C5 from Top Flight Automotive. They also have a Wicker style, which is also cool but a bit too much for me, it was a tough call.
Great review! I have the Caravaggio spoiler on my Machine Silver 04Z installed by the original owner, this subtle feature is one of the many reasons I bought this car.
I think GM got it right by not adding a spoiler to the C5. C5's always look better without a spoiler in my own opinion, they all seem to be out of place and just look slapped on especially if not paint matched. The overall body design and the rear really don't compliment a spoiler. Sure in some special cases it will look good and if it's purpose is functional like on a track car they look great, but on a street driven or daily driver a spoiler just looks weird. I've looked through all the spoilers offered for the C5 and I could not find one that's visually appealing all around, actually I do have ONE in mind after typing that. It is a spoiler that you didn't go over, so I would like to know what you think about it. The spoiler is caller the RKS spoiler, it comes unpainted and in carbon fiber. I own a 2001 Yellow Z06 and I think the RKS in carbon fiber will look the best on mine since all the rear lights are smoked, black compliments the yellow fairly well.

01 yellow c5 targa here. I’m so conflicted on rims/spoilers/hoods/splitters for these cars. only thing I’m not conflicted on is an LS7 swap… that’s the end goal. and a 7spd manual swap like the guy on corvette forums did.
Absolutely no spoilers. PERIOD! My 86 Fiero GT did not have the spoiler and I put the '87 Formula front end, and it looked like no other. I'm hoping to get the new C8 ZO6 and I will order it with no spoilers. Like the Fiero, I did extensive suspension work on the ZO6 and I've got it set up to have that Exotic look, and I will do the same thing with the C8 Z06 with none of the tack-on garbage. There's just something about smooth lines with the rear end down just as tight as you can get it and the front end, not so low, as most people seem to overdo it. Mine stands out because of the stance and I've yet to see one that looks like it and the irony is, I set them up that way for performance ¿`_
I can tell you the manufacturers for two of the rear bumpers and spoilers at the end of your video for which you did not know who built them: the yellow Vette had a Greenwood spoiler attached, and the white Vette is a complete bumper made by RK Sport, which I think is a very good looking bumper, but you are required to purchase their exhaust system to make it compatible with the rear exhaust cut out. Personally, I think the Tigershark rear bumper is the best of all.
I bought the RC7 spoiler for my c5, because I love the wickerbill look, but also those other spoilers you shown were just plain and boring. I do like the APR CF wing, but I don't think my car is built enough to warrant that for mine.

Personally I thought my C5 Z06 was too plain. I put a wicker bill type spoiler that has a cut out in the middle that helps with seeing out the back. And I put a front splitter on also which made the most difference in handling at high speeds. If your not racing your car they are mostly for looks anyway.

I chuckling as I've seen every single one of those cars in the last 3 years online or on video haha. A timely video for some strange reason. Now that I have a ridiculous hood to cover up my blower I feel like the back of the car could use a little something to balance it out. I am eyeballing something a bit more unique and functional. It's a spec car spoiler from G Stream. Aside from that you can chuck me into the category that normally don't like spoilers, hoods, or any real aftermarket body work on C5s. So many wings and spoilers look like a non functional eyesore on C5s.

Personally, not a fan of the rear spoilers on the C5, especially the wing. Don't like the wing on the C8s either. I think GM designed a beautiful rear end and should be left as is. Good video though.
My hunch is they do not do much at highway speeds - it would be super interesting to run them all through an air flow tunnel simulating 120mph -150mph speeds....
I found out the hard way that not all aftermarket spoilers fit like factory. Mine druels water down the outer edges of the bumper and leaves streaky type marks after getting back from a ride even if I blow dry the Vette after washing it before I take a cruise. It's drilled onto the Vette with nuts/washers, so I can't blame the tape on kind.

I don’t care for the “stick on” spoilers. I prefer the spoiler integrated into the rear like the one from Corvette Creationz. My favorite would be the tiger shark rear end which was not part of your list.
GO "BIG" ! But only if you're cars performance can back it up because everyone will try you on the highway! With big spoiler you need allittlle meat on side skirts and a front splitter. Anyways my c5 can back it up and I'm working on that exact exterior, but being very careful to keep it GT3 style and not south of border autozone style
Ordered the Spoiler King spoiler and it was rubber and they said I had to buy some MORE adhesive and that it would be best to take to a professional for painting. Returned the same day it came. I have a gloss black Vette and gloss black shows every imperfection--so the rubber Spoiler King spoiler would just not do. Other people like them and that's cool, just not for me. Besides, my wife said she would smack me if I put that on the Vette.

Hi Ken !! Love this video segment on spoilers - I'm currently running a NRG "Wing" on my C5. The original mounting plates had that thing up about 14" off the rear deck - oh yes, an eye catcher, even to Las Vegas Metro... since my conversation with law enforcement, I've cut mounts to half the original height. During the time I was refitting, I ran without and had a real bad handling in the rear - real loose. Won't run again without it. I'm down now for the winter and considering cutting it down again and installing a pair of Linear Actuators to control lift and down force. Look forward to your next video !! ( I'd love to make a few videos but I have a face for radio !!)

I like the video, but no mention of style or function. Clearly the APR is designed for both, hence the price. There are several more out there too. Maybe break it down to 2 videos one for racing and one for show. Otherwise great video.
It needs to be said, any of the C7 Corvettes are just plain gaudy! That said, I don't like the styling of the C8 but the drivetrain in the ZO6 with the ZO7 package is something to behold and that is the only reason I want the new C8 ZO6! A little suspension work and you'll get nothing but performance ¿`_

I did that with my c5z. I had my wife make a decal to cover the holes in the front bumper. The body looks way smoother now.

Spoilers are tricky. I am still waiting for that perfect one to hit me!
I feel like I could use something for more downforce on hard acceleration. My cars putting down serious power. I think it’d help in stability @ speed.
If you track it - for sure. In a straight line - not too sure unless you are 800+ HP.

ARP 300 is the only spoiler. The others are just wind bumps. The ARP will actually help the car stick in the turns. Sign me up.

The original mounting plates had that thing up about 14" off the rear deck - oh yes, an eye catcher, even to Las Vegas Metro... since my conversation with law enforcement, I've cut mounts to half the original height. During the time I was refitting, I ran without and had a real bad handling in the rear - real loose. Won't run again without it. I'm down now for the winter and considering cutting it down again and installing a pair of Linear Actuators to control lift and down force.

I like the video, but no mention of style or function. Clearly the APR is designed for both, hence the price. There are several more out there too. Maybe break it down to 2 videos one for racing and one for show. Otherwise great video.

The C5 is a spoiler in its own,no need for a wing the faster u go the more the car wants to sit..on the c8 ill get one tho bcz its sharp lines
For high speeds, 100mph +, I would think a larger wing would help. Looks are a separate matter for me.

It needs to be said, any of the C7 Corvettes are just plain gaudy! That said, I don't like the styling of the C8 but the drivetrain in the ZO6 with the ZO7 package is something to behold and that is the only reason I want the new C8 ZO6! A little suspension work and you'll get nothing but performance ¿`_
Cant wait to see the newer versions of the C8 and dare I say, C9!
The worst appearance modification in my opinion is the tiger shark. It’s horrendously ugly.
