    Hey everyone, I spent a heap of time on this one, and was able to grow my team, I have a new member joining the channel to help film and edit. Going to be exploring more storytelling and topic videos, so if there are specific ideas or things people want me to cover let me know. Next week I'm going to do one about how I sold my SaaS! (the one I made in 30 days)!

      Well, we won't know from this guy, because he's clearly more interested in random eye saver technologies, than the effect of panel types themselves. IPS is of course better than LED, and OLED is probably the best right now. LCD and LED are the worst.

    One Question,
    does the macbook heat up while charging from Benq Monitor?

  • @lukestrat93
    @lukestrat93 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I have an old Benq BL2420PT monitor with this technology and it's really crap for the eyes, the best thing that can exist to not strain the eyes are the screens that Apple includes inside the 27" iMacs, I'm in front of them 8 hours a day at work and
    my eyes are very little tired.
    Apple laptops connected to any monitor that doesn't have 218 ppi density will surely suck and the text will not be as sharp as it should be, this does not happen with Windows, which has a totally different font rendering and scaling management.
    For that reason alone I'm considering going back to Windows to write code at home.

    • @mattng4707
      @mattng4707 ปีที่แล้ว

      so benq monitors are shit then? what monitor do you suggest for no eye strain etc

    • @lukestrat93
      @lukestrat93 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattng4707 After months dealing with this problem, I can tell you that at home I'm now well used to a 27 4k, sometimes when I need more space on the desktop I use it in downscale mode compared to the default scaling, in default scaling mode everything you can see is ok but you will have the larger interface.
      In downscale I have a slight loss in text rendering quality but it is bearable.
      Final advice, if you can, buy the 27 5k that LG produces, otherwise buy any 27 4k screen, I recommend that if you stick to 4k don't get anything larger than a 27 inch screen or it will be even worse in terms of pixel density.

Can you suggest i should go with 27 inch or 24 is best? And my pocked not allowing for a 2k panel.

    Yeah but, no but, as a developer and website designer has this guy missed the 2018 UK and International Accessibility Regulations and Standards?
    Both minimum "Colour Contrast Validation" of websites WCAG 2.1 and companion ISO 30071-1 "DSE Colour Contrast Calibration" guiding the user operator to make personal, custom maximum contrast, "Reasonable Adjustments or Accommodations" to prevent or mitigate early onset eye-strain, screen fatigue, Computer Vision Syndrome resulting simply from over-exposure to standard out of the box, very high contrast bright-white background or contrast to text exacerbating the level of vision-stress / glare especially, when effectively "over-exposed", longer than an hour a day, to generic white screen interface setting without "sufficient daylighting indoors or ambient artificial lighting" during the day and at night.
    However, in terms of public and Digital Eye-Health or occupational health the introduction of Accessibility Standards has highlighted the deficits expediently ignored by the Health & Safety Executive even before the embarrassment of publishing their "Better Display Screen RR 561 in 2007" confirming that the UK's DSE Regulations, excluded what it said in it title Display Screen Equipment operator-equipment screen ergonomics, were actually completely ineffective especially when further regulation by the 1998 PUWER Act (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) conveniently omitted from guidance and or DSE Product Use Set-Up Guidance, Induction Training or annual Risk Assessment.

      @@Mlab923 A little while ago I bought this HP Z23i with LG panel and it would almost immediately give me eye-strain. It's considered an average productivity display and I expected it to be somewhat tolerable at least. Calibration didn't help, nothing really mattered at that point. I had to sell it as a result because try as I might I couldn't accommodate to it. It wasn't flicker-free, but I don't think that was the issue really, because I'd used PWM monitors before and it never bothered me. Right now I'm looking for a new monitor and after that regretful episode I don't trust IPS myself anymore. I've been looking for a new monitor myself and I've no idea what to pick as it looks like a terrible gamble these days. While I'm wary of IPS I still don't know if the above issue applies to all of them and there is no way of finding out without actually buying one.

    Benq is only show off. If you really want good quality monitor go for Dell. Dell doesn't use those supar fancy words, like benq, but does it's job. Don't get into the trap of benq.

    Video was informative than I learned some good points, but once I realize there was a sponsored ad it all felt like marketing geared towards a specific product and now I don't trust anything else you said before since that wasn't disclosed at the beginning.

    IPS has nothing to do with flicker free, any type of panel can have it and the real importance is to look out for local dimming. In fact IPS is worse on the eyes because of the backlight bleeding, glow and intense colors, recommending ips to ppl looking for eye relief is like recommending alcohol to someone who was diagnosed with liver failure 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀

    This video is a lie as the monitor link attached is a 1080p monitor but the text displayed on the screen is not from 1080p as in 1080p display is not that sharp

    Actually better is bigger monitor. Use Windows text scale and sit more far away from monitor or tv. And your eyes are more relaxed than watch 24 inch monitor very closely.

    Besides all of these, I think there is no monitor that doesn't fuck's up your eyes. Yes latest technology clearly helped (like having 4k or different panels, but these come at a price)and manufacturers balancing the monitors helped in evolving, but truly the best solution for this is to take as many breaks as possible and less gaming :(. For work I think is better 2 monitors with 25 inch 2k res. To split a 27 inch it's pretty hard to work, these is the reason I ordered another monitor, but it's a little bit to wide with 2 of them, so these is the reason I recommend 25 inch/ 2 monitors and I know these because at the office I worked on 2 monitors/24 inch. As a result, take a lot of breaks.

      I think you're right, we need take breaks and keep distance between your eyes and the monitor..additional to that ensure to have enough sleeping

    I don't trust anything you said about benQ in terms of eye care since you didn't explain how their ips panel would be good to eyes(since these panels are one of the worse to eyes)

      @@godblessbharat708 ummm OLED is the best for eyes thou. You dont even need any glasses for quality oled screen. When i have samsung oled tablet. I can go all day everyday without eyestrain. But i cant afford oled monitor sooo... For now i only have cheap LG flickering led. I want to know if a better quality less flickering will give me no eye strain like amoled does for me or it still will but just a bit more better than the flickering.
