Interesting! Firstly, I was going to say that due to the absence of medical advancement/surrogacy, Sarah pushed Hagar to sleep with her husband Abraham to procreate.
I also had the funny thought of Mary, mother of Jesus being a surrogate; hers is a perfect surrogacy as she was in no way involved in any coitus.
Coming to the question of faith, if there was medical advancement BC, where would waiting and trusting in God's miraculous provision stand? Would the miraculous childbearing story of Elizabeth, Sarah, Hannah, Abraham, Manaoah, etc be/exist?
