I was a ham in high school and college. Started with WN2FCE. While in college I became a first aider before the EMT status. I was elevated to Crew Chief and was in charge of the radio for 40 years. All for free. When I retired from everything and the lock down came, I got reacquainted with Ham radio and made to Extra Class. K2QXQ. Now I find myself lost in new technology. Once I built my own stuff now I am having a hard time at 77 learning from vacuum tubes to those little chips. I like ICOM. But it is a struggle. My Elmer in high school was Marty Kaiser. He was my Tesla. I wish I could sit in classes at Trenton State. TCNJ. I don’t need another degree. I just want to be a student again. RWB ❤🎉
Blessed love to all, Can you tell me where is this place in Orlando ??. One of my kid promise me a ham radio but don't know about ham fest, he live in Orlando for years now, but he does not used the radio, can you help please an thanks, watching from Jamaica west Indies !!
I went there and first time since the 90s. Didn’t see ICOM booth. Would have nice to see Ray Novak. He used to come to Lentini communications in Newington back when I worked there in 1998
Unfortunately you are correct . Our hobby is dying , lack of people on the bands , lack of people calling cq ( except on ft 8 ) Many now dont use a mic or a cw key but are happy to spend hours clicking on a mouse . Funny enough the guys in our club are starting to now moan that when they do come off ft8 there is nobody to talk to . Made a rod for their own back sitting clicking every day on ft8 . No wonder many (including me ) are now leaving or sadly thinking of .
@ 2:50 Siltronix 1011D. Brings me back to the 80’s. Thanks for the video.
Well made video. Good promotion for the hobby.
I wish we had Hamfest events this large in the UK. Ours are pretty much all half day or one day events ..
My first radio was a Hallicrafters S38 given to me by my Dad. It was replaced by a Hammarlund HQ-129X I bought at Dayton.

Southwest Germany waving a Hand. Tnx for the great Video & 73 de Your Friend Günter 💯👍🙋♂
Hamfests are always fun! It's cool to meet the people you only hear behind a microphone

Nice overview on radio 😊😊
Enjoyed
👍👍👍👍👍
god job
Where is this ham fest at
Best 73s .
Sadly, we don't have anything even slightly close to this in the west.
It is almost disappearing, maybe now with the war in Ukraine and the threat that preparing for the worst radio is coming back
Younger people don't like it. Don't know why. It's a dying hobby. GMRS is the way to go
