I have one as well. GPS is just about worthless. Absolutely no mapping and no updates from Kawasaki. Although if it were 1995 cutting edge! Cameras are the best part, like you stated. I like how it is all integrated but seems to be an after-thought by Kawasaki. I'd pay about $500 for the whole thing. I think they wanted to compete with Ride Command and get something on the market. If you try to find any info it's almost like it never existed. They are probably embarrassed as well. It also is filling a spot in the dash for my Rugged Radios that I had to mount in the upper cubby instead of that location. I agree with your assessment totally!

I love the way it looks in the buggy, GPS is way lacking but I use all the other features. I have comms and use them for music, I do use the buggy stereo if we are hanging out by the river etc. I use Gaia maps on my phone but have considered a Tread. I was hoping someone would "jailbreak" the unit to make it more robust. I appreciate your detailed video on this! If you don't rely on the GPS I don't regret owning it.

Great content. Appreciate it! Helps to know that it really isn’t worth the money.

Having had one of these displays on my 4 seat ES SE for close to a year, I've had a little time to form an opinion.
It shares a lot of features with the TFT, but they dont invalidate each other.
I let the dealer do the install at purchase for me; it saved me time, but their install job wasn't factory quality. I've been into it a few times to add dielectric grease and organize the wiring as I've added accessories.
I love the display on my 4 seaf ES SE. It was clearly designed with this particular machine in mind. It's plug n play with the electronic shocks on top of all the other integration. That information would be displayed on the attitude page if you had them. I like having that
Info on one screen, and my engine systems on the other simultaneously
I'm not in love with the on board gps, but I have fewer issues than you. Mine will display the US with great detail, along with all the other countries I've taken time to scroll.
The backup camera is crucial. The display gets all its vehicle input from the diagnostic port, so it can easily tell which gear you're in. I've been tempted to patch into the system at this location, but I've opted to err for caution due to the diag port
Overall, with the electronic shocks, hifonics, and a back seat to further worsen viz; I would highly recommend as a topper to the fully loaded machines.
Although, it would be nicer if kawi would just have it be standard on the ES SE models.

I'm about to install back up lights. I have seen two wiring harnesses you can get. One hooks up on the transmission shift lever which is on the outside of the transmission case with a little micro switch and the other one hooks up on the shifter with the same type of Micro switch. I'm trying to find the websites I've seen those on. It would be nice if there's a way to set it up with factory wiring

About the backup camera and reverse lights, theres a reverse loght on the dash that comes on when you put it in reverse so theres a switch somewhere that shows gear selection. That's all you would have to yap into to hook up a reverse light or camera. Its already built into the dashboard. Frind that wire and follow it to the switch.

I have it on es se. It has more function with the es se. Not drastically, but it's definitely a bigger upgrade for the es se
