so Ricky, your Focus issue with the Cam. it focuses on the center.. you off to the left .. when it cant find or lose the focus it looks at the most blurry thing, which is that music stand over you right should or the Multi colored guitars of to the right. do with this info as you will. thank you and see ya every Weds
Unless I missed it, my barree hack I taught my son: barree shape is which higest note your index/barree finger is on. The E-shape the last part of your finger is on the E string. A shape -> A string, D shape -> D string.
Hi Ricky, such a good lesson as I try and steer away from pentatonic boxes. Could you and/or the wider geetar playing community please refer me to Ricky's lesson/s on modes, which relates to this lesson
Food for thought Al. The reason I don't do songs is I don't want to get into copyright issues. BUT..I've just had an idea how I can deconstruct songs maybe, without actually playing the song.
I’m intermediate and I’m watching this thinking ‘why are other people watching something here which is quite advanced (chord tone soloing) when they can’t even play barre chords. It’s as if it’s an advanced lesson for beginners. Bizarre. I did get something from this but worry that most of it went over the heads of the intended audience.
It's a live class Davey. Most of the people I delivered this lesson to have been watching my streams for the last few months. We're forming quite the nice bunch of friends on here. They have prior knowledge of the concepts I share. I leave the live streams up so they can revisit the concepts. Chord tone soloing is about as advanced as learning pentatonic scales. It just sounds scary, when it really isn't. Glad you got something from the lesson.
I agree with Ricky, music education for some reason has this elite mentality that this is advanced and must take years to digest. But, why? It’s just 12 notes that you can find an excuse to use for any reason, even the minor 2nd when played in the right context can create a sound that will lead and intrigue the listener. And then the Ego gets involved who can play the fastest or with more complexity. Listen to a Charlie Parker Jazz solo and digest it on the first listen… Music is frequency in Emotion. Okay, I am done now, carry on.
The lesson starts around the 11:00 mark

I would describe the 6th as wistful.

Can you re-post this in sync. Tricky to watch when sound and vision are this far apart.
