Most kids back then were told to keep there toys nice and neat and in the box. That way they always had toys. My Uncles have some of those kinds of toys and we were never allowed play with them. The differences between the generations for sure. Have a great day
You are right. My mom has always told me I could take care of things better than anyone she had ever seen. I believe it was because I knew we didn't have much money when I was growing up, so I knew I better take good care of them. I wouldn't have gotten another one if it was torn up. My sister on the other hand could care less. She still doesn't take care of anything. We were like night and day growing up and still are. lol !!😀😊😉

You knew it was always there if u wanted to play with it, but at the same time u wanted to keep it preserved, all together, save it for a rainy day kind of thing. Somehow either that day never comes or they just grow out of that particular toy until something else catches their eye and they move on and forget about it! U know how short our attention spans were when we were little! Well, I don't know your age, so I guess I should say my sister's and my attention span!😅Guess it's just a different way of looking at it. 😊✌🏼

I think he said it was HIS toy. That happened to my husband. We were at a local church rummage sale and he found an old Golden book with his name in the front- it was definitely his at one point in its life.

When you pulled out that Cox plane, OMG. I could hear and smell that thing. My brother had a plane and a purple dune buggy that we played with all the time. He and they are long gone so, thanks for the memories.

I remember seeing these little drums here in The Smoking Mountains in North Carolina in the gift shops. My sister and I had one. That brought back a lot of great memories. I love the train sets and the machine gun too. My dad would buy my sister and I toys like that for Christmas so he could play with us. lol!! It’s so great to see. By the way, I also built a home on 2 1/2 acres in 1985. It was everything I could do not to show up every single day. Our family (of 3 sons) was allowed to help with certain minor projects, making it fun for all. I know your viewers can sense you and your families excitement to get your CoO and move in. I had that Mouse Uke! I took it to school for "Show and Tell" and performed "Heartbreak Hotel" for the class. The teacher must have been doubled over laughing inside!
The extra little bit in the airplane box looks like the electrical connector. The way these things worked is that instead of an impossibly small spark plug they had a glow coil. You connected the engine to a battery to heat up the glow coil. Once it was hot enough you disconnected the battery and gave the motor a spin (through the prop if a plane, wheel if a car, etc) until it caught. Then the heat generated by the engine itself would keep it going until it ran out of fuel.
Cute cowboy set. Sadly, kids today often don't even know what a cowboy is. Even adults, before COVID, my Spanish teacher here in Mexico, who was in her 30s, did not know the word for cowboy. I´m old. Watched a lot of cowboy tv with my dad when I was a kid. So, I knew "vaquero". 🤣

Don't forget the fisher price folks that were wood and airports and barns and house boat....gosh too many to name, along with Tonka trucks, that were truly metal!
My son was a 70's kid. I remember getting him the big yellow metal Tonka Truck. $20 and I borrowed it from my uncle that I ran into shopping. I think I was more excited about getting it for him than he was in getting it. He was 3 yrs. old. :-)
Those Brio toys are still very expensive new! I was in a toy store buying something for my niece and recognized it because I had those as a kid and loved it but jeez Louise I ain't paying that much for it!

The unboxing of 'chocolates' is my favorite. It seems that most of those toys were only lightly or never used so good for you! In my life and my children's, all toys were mostly used (and loved to pieces). Dennis the Menace was must-see (I was born in 1946) and I had a wind-up train set. My home town I grew up in, Parma, Idaho, is on the Oregon Trail. The Hudson Bay Company built a fort there, along the river. It was called Fort Boise. They now have a replica of the fort in their park. Every year they celebrate their event Old Fort Boise Days.
The fact that the Barbie car still has both seatbelts is phenomenal! That should sell well for you! Silly question, but did you check if the batteries you grabbed from your basement are fully charged? Old toys draw A LOT of energy so that is a possible reason the cannon truck mechanism isn’t working. Just a thought. 👍🏻 Keep having fun and have a great weekend! 🤩

I love how our parents bought us toy guns back in the 50s and 60s. I remember hours of fun playing cowboys or soldiers with our toy guns.
I’m a child of the 80’s and my friends and I all had plastic toy guns that looked pretty realistic 😂. Such different times but so much fun haha
