Loll I shake my bottles too before smelling the FO. I knew that Opopanax would smell amazing. I really love your cabinet in the back with those beautiful jars😍
Yes this was the video I’ve been searching for because I’m about to just buy all there scents to go in my mucus ty candle line lol. Wooden wick co marketing is outstanding!❤️
Another amazing video! I was wondering if you prefer Coconut Apricot Créme over Virgin Coconut Soy. I wasn’t sure if maybe CAC provides a better hot throw over VCS or if it’s maybe easier to work with. I’m not sure which one to try. Thanks!
This is a tough question, because I love both. Coconut apricot, to me, had a stronger hot throw BUT it is more difficult to wick and work with, it’s way pickier. Virgin coco soy is EASY to wick, it wicks like a dream, but it’s throw isn’t as good as coco apricot. I recommend getting 5lbs of each and trying out both. There’s also soy bliss from sixteenseventeen.com that is actually like both coco apricot and virgin coco soy, so I recommend trying that out too!
It smelled like lipgloss from the 90s lol in the bottle. But when I put it in a candle it was such a strong thrower and smelled 1000% better. I mixed it with the pink sugar from candlescience and it was like they were made for each other haha
Jessica, love love the video, you make candle making look so much fun. Thank you for your inspiration. God bless you girl, and keep it going. cant wait to see you live, i already signed up

@@JustJJr I like Erica from Memory box but stopped watching it. This time I'm going based on experience from the last time I was making candles back in 2017. There are so many waxes and tools and candle suppliers. It's all about testing and testing. What wax are you considering to use? I know that Stanley suggested a FB group about candles in one of his videos. Also look into Armatage candle company.
@@HawthornCompany Yes thats my guy Michael. He's amazing and always does testing. He got me into using the IGI 6006 Paraffin and Soy blend. I heard so many great things about it. I just cannot get the hot throw to function properly with their fragrances and I used 10% I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I check and rechecked my measurements.
Hi hun!! Thanks so much for always sharing such great content it is much appreciated!! Would you mind sharing where you got the glass cabinets behind you? Thanks :)
Ohh you’ll love the cabinets if you get them, but they do need to be secured to the studs of your wall www.ikea.com/us/en/p/brimnes-storage-combination-w-glass-doors-white-s49278237/
@@HawthornCompany thank you. I was using the .02 .625 but it was taking a while to get a decent melt pool but I think the .75 is perfect for the vessels we have. Thank you.
I love your videos. I’m too lazy and hate to waste product, so to test fragrance oils just to see if I like the scent or if it has a good throw, I buy the 4oz-5oz tins on Amazon fairly cheap. I don’t wick them. I label them and put the amount of FO for the amount of wax I’m putting in each tin and put the lid back. When the wax is ready I get my scale and pour the hot wax and stir them. Then next to the other tin. When they are cured a put poke a hole with the toothpick and insert the wick. I test them in the bathroom because they are small. I can test lots of fragrances that way without buying full sizes and can save the labeled candles for future reference. Once I pick my favorites I get a bigger bottle and test it on the vessels.
I usually do the wickless test method too with cotton, but I stopped doing it with wooden wicks. It wasn’t giving me accurate results because the wood would soak in the FO and wax when I did a full tester, making it burn different than when I put a dry wooden wick in a wickless test. It was weird lol
I am so bummed bc I am new to candle making and really enjoy it but I got the worst headache and nausea after making some candles. I’m assuming you do not bc you’re sniffing away lol jealous!
@@HawthornCompany I will be using a crackling booster wick 04 for my tins. WI-740 and Zinc wicking for the small vessels with the IGI 6006 wax. Let's see how that goes.
You may want to try either a .03 or .02 instead, possibly the .02 over the .03 - .04 is good if you were using 100% soy wax but because of the paraffin blend Im pretty positive you’ll want to use a .02 or .03 (I’d start with a .02)
@@HawthornCompany Awesome! Thank you this will help out for future candles actually. I meant to say that for the tins I'm using are from the wooden wick candles as well as the crackling boosters with the Beeswax and coco cream wax. What do you think of that convo?
Yes! Better than when I was using 10-12% and it burns waaaay cleaner at 8% with wooden wicks. It just needs a 2 week cure and the hot throw is outstanding for most oils.

Is there a difference in the whisper wicks vs the crackling? Besides the level of crackle?
