As a very senior citizen, I bought this same 10" NAMELESS exhaust system. Before, I walked away from my Subaru and didn't realize it was still running. Hasn't happened since the new NAMELESS.
Excellent video. Just a regular guy playing with his car. Love it. Great job with all the POVs, I wish more people did that. I have a 2010 Subaru Impreza and am considering this exact mod soon. Hope you are still enjoying it 2 years later
Much appreciated, and you said it!! Just a normal guy enjoying his car and I say go for it. The sound definitely makes the drive a lot more interesting.
@@JasonYergin Nice. Thanks for the reply. Your impreza has the 2.5L engine? Trying to find out engine model but not sure it matters much. The Nameless exhast systems come up in a lot of threads and videos for the Subaru's
Haha… thanks. Subaru’s CVT has to be the best for fun-ish driving. It downshifts very aggressively under hard braking enhancing the disc brakes performance and upshifts are actually pretty satisfying. For every day driving I like it a lot, especially with my jacked up knees and feet. If only Subaru would give us about a 230 horse turbo engine to go with the Impreza hatchback it would be basically perfect.
i have a impreza 2019 hatch sport cvt too . and install a axelback and i search a lot of vidéo like yours . you film interior and exterior comparaison. thats great thank you . now i know what m'y exterior exhaust sound hahah
i got myself a 22' impreza sport, awesome car. i do have some buyers remorse, i was offered a base model wrx at the same price but turned it down because of the insurance premium and the gas mileage. having a real hard time debating putting an exhaust on the car.
I absolutely understand where you're coming from. The good news is this one is SUPER easy and not too expensive. Seriously it took me longer to get the muffler out of the box than it did to install it and all I needed was some basic hand tools. Ramps to back up on help a lot. You don't even need an exhaust hanger tool if you're willing to fight a little bit using a large pair of channel locks (always put a little WD-40 on hangers to make them a hundred times more compliant). I wouldn't call this a how-to video but there's a little more info if you're curious :) th-cam.com/video/elIcTq_uVFY/w-d-xo.html
great videos on this exhaust. gonna get one from my 2018 6mt Crosstrek. I am worried about it being too loud but I also do want to hear my engine more when driving
Thank you good sir. I would say that while I do wish the exhaust was a tiny bit quieter that's just because I like car exhausts just barely louder than stock in most cases. I never thought this one was too loud in fact I don't think my neighbors ever even heard it all that much. Your results may vary but I hope you find the sound you like and I agree for sure, it's SO much better when you can hear the engine/exhaust a little when you're driving.
I would say that's a fair statement. I think generally with axle back exhausts you don't have to do any tuning and you won't really see much different in horsepower. But it does sound really good!! 😄 Especially when you combine it with an intake. The one regret I have is I wish I would've just gotten an intake first so I could see how the car sounded with just that. Of course it's easy to take the Nameless muffler off and put the stock one back on but I think driving around for a week or two with just a high flow intake that isn't silenced would have been fun. It's amazing how much deeper the engine sounds with an intake
Love the video. Curious if you did the install- this looks like the ‘executive’ catback model and I’m thinking about getting one for my ‘21 Crosstrek premium. But I only want to get it if I can do it myself. Also, if you did do it, did you get the poly bushings?
I installed it myself and I'm sure you could too. It actually took me more time to get it out of the box than it did to put it on the car. I didn't see any reason to get polyurethane bushings since it's such a small addition. I didn't even bother buying any exhaust hanger pliers because I could do it with channel locks but I admit hanger pliers would be a lot easier.
@@JasonYergin cool, good to know. I thought the poly bushings might be excessive myself but thanks for the info. Also- love your Impreza Sport. Sweet car.
Just a follow up, I got the exhaust. I have an etrailer branded hitch on my Crosstrek and it’s a tight fit- the hangers just touched going in but it didn’t need to be altered. I really like it. Also added a Nameless strut tower bar. Definitely added stiffness and sharpens the front end grip a bit. Now to chase rattles in my interior! The vibration at certain rpm exacerbates them, especially when cold. Wondering if you have the same issue?
@@louisc76 That's freaking awesome!! I'm really glad you decided on getting one and I hope it works out great for you. I never really had any rattle from my exhaust that I remember. Granted my car had a CVT transmission so that, of course, affected the how the exhaust tone sounded. I could've sworn that the STi front splitter made the car more stable at high speeds too, so that's something to consider maybe... if you want to.
I guess that's subjective in some ways but for sure there is some sound at highway speeds. When you're on light throttle the sound nearly goes away but it's very evident above 1500 RPM's. I got the exhaust so I could hear exactly what the engine is doing in order to be as efficient with it as I wanted to be. I think if Nameless made a 15 inch canister it would be about perfect for me, but of course that would be too quiet for some. I do recommend this over the 5 inch can for sure.
That’s actually the STi accessory spoiler. I might be crazy but I swear after I installed that my front end felt a little more stable and of course it looks really good. STi is known for making parts that are actually functional. You do have to drill some holes to install it if I remember right, but there are already little marks (tiny dots) on the front bumper, showing you exactly where to drill. Some double sided tape helps hold it on but the screws do the real work, totally a super clean part all around. And I absolutely recommend it.

Damn dude, this video should be an example of how all exhaust clips should be recorded. These are all the POVs I was curious about too, thanks!
LOL I appreciate that. I just made sure I did what I would want to see in a video and viola. Glad to know you got something out of it

I’m looking into getting one for my 19 base 5 speed. The Quad axle back looks cool. I need to learn more about cars and exhaust systems though

It's hard to tell in the video, but is there a bad drone sound at highway/cruising speed?
