    Now put a cotton ball in those little beakers that you had the essential oils in and swirl the cotton ball around it and place it somewhere where you want that scent to be and therefore you don't waste all that beautiful residue of oil.

    Sink holes as noted are due to lots of temperature reasons as noted. Another reason for the hole on top comes from pouring over the height of the shoulder of the jar is a reaction from the distance between the inside spec changing. This is found in injection molding process as well. When injecting plastic into a mold tool with a positive space coming out, i.e. the shoulder of the jar, it can cause a negative space opposite of it, creating a sink hole. Thanks for all your tips!

    Liquid beeswax occupies a slightly larger volume than solid beeswax because the molecules are free-floating. When they solidify, they form weak bonds to each other, which makes them denser. This happens with most liquids, with the exception of water.

    Hi Bramble Berry, is it safe to use essential oil that have a lower flash point than beeswax? Will this result in the oil just evaporating without giving its smell? example the fir needle essential oil used in the holiday blend is flash point of 43 celsius.

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use an essential oil with a low flashpoint in beeswax, though the overall scent throw will be lighter than with a higher flashpoint oil.

    have a question for you and I hope to hear from you if you have time! I’m currently making beef Tallow Candles but I’m having a difficult time finding a cost effective way to add scent. I have used essential oil‘s but I have to use over 60 drops to even get a smell. I don’t want to use fragrance oils because they’re not natural. Would you recommend that I mix the tallow with another fat like coconut oil? Do you think these two would mix well or is there another one you would recommend?

    • @bramble-berry

      @@mahaveerindra If you're experiencing tunneling, you might be using a container that is too large or a wick that is too small. Try adjusting one of those to see if that works. As for pouring the wax, the best temperature to pour beeswax is 155-160° F, so your wait time will depend on how hot you got the wax in the melting process.

      Most imperfections are caused by temperature. If the wax is too cool, it may harden into clumps and splash into the container as you pour. If it's too hot, it can crack or form air bubbles. The best way to prevent that is to pour the wax when it's 155-160° F, or when it has that film on top. You can use the creme brulee torch to gently graze the top of the candle and smooth out the surface.

      You can absolutely do this, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours to let your candle set up before burning it.

    I'm extremely disappointed that safety when burning essential oils around pets was not discussed. Various essential oils are extremely toxic to animals and will poison them when burning them in candles!! Please please please post some warning labels on these posts, it's the responsible thing to do!! 🤷‍♀️☠️
