- In a world of comic book investing, comic book speculation, FOMO after any new announcement and just spending money on the top 10 list garbage, I am focused on buying key comic books to build an incredible comic book collection 5 books at a time. If you just had these 5 books in your collection you would have a pretty cool eye catching collection in my opinion. These books can be expensive, but if you come up with a plan on how to save up for these you can achieve them. They can also be affordable as well. Cool keys do not have to be expensive keys. I really hope you enjoy this video an make sure to share the link with your friends as this is a very limited time offer.
Foundational Comic Books is a phrase I came up with to describe Universally Recognizable Key Issues. These are comics books that will increase the overall appeal and value of your collection on a broad basis. Obviously you want to collect what you like, but there are a lot of influential people that will tell you to buy 'Hot Books of the week'. Those comic books are fine, but they might not be recognizable to everyone or increase the value of your collection long term. Be weary when it comes to anyone telling you what you should buy.

Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Cool books thanks for sharing. I like to go to pawn shops to check for comics.. score sometimes.
Pawn shops are awesome too. I call around and stop in from time to time. My local pawn shop has a first appearance of batgirl right now in CGC 3.0. They are a little high on it, but that’s okay. Still cool to see it in there.
Thanks for sharing this, truly excellent content!
So blessed you’re Church has a thrift store to help them out 🙏 Also loved your Black Cat Original Art 👍
Great video, appreciate you sharing it!
Nice books Alex and I enjoy looking for books at thrift stores and antique malls too, I especially enjoy that Mister Miracle 1, excellent Kirby goodness there!
Thanks a ton, this was super helpful!
Nice pickups, Alex!
Great show guys, thank you
Awesome haul, Alex. I have found comics at my local Books A Million and Library. For some reason, my local thrift stores and pawn shops do not carry them. I find action figures and DVDs at the Salvation Army, Thrifty, Goodwill, and 5 Below.
Very cool sources of collectibles for you. I have never found anything comic book related at my library, because the guy who manages all the comics used to be the LCS owner in my town. He is still a dealer, so I assume he grabs anything that comes in.
There is a new antique mall off 70 that has comic books that is all silver and bronze age books for $5 per book. Picked up a few gems in there.
Nice score my friend! Always fun to visit those antique malls from STL to KC.
I probably would have offered them much more than $70, especially since it went to a church-related organization. The Mister Miracle #1, FF #98 and handful of the others you showed at the end were pretty solid finds for a thrift store.
They get my tithes
I'm responsible for someone finding something cool at a thrift store. A little over 10 years ago I donated a cardboard box of un-bagged and un-boarded comics to a thrift store. I had purchased a very large box of random stuff off eBay. After keeping what I wanted I got rid of the rest. I am really not sure of everything in the box I donated, but I know for a fact that there were five to ten Malibu Sun 13. Fortunately I kept two copies because I thought "garbage book but cool Spawn cover/pinup".
Dang! That happens to the best of us.
Mister Miracle 1 is foundational...nice haul
Can't wait to start my collection
Awesome pickups dude!
Fantastic vid!!! Thanks a lot!
wow, great video. thanks so much
ill definitely try that, thanks!
Cool covers and video congratulations on the good deal you got nice cover art from great artists.
very helpful, worth the watch
Alex you could easily play a young Reed Richards in an upcoming FF movie. You got that look like Reed has. Lol.
There is an antique store a few miles away from me, it is stacked with silver and bronze age marvel and DC in a glass casing. Plus the 1.00 boxes as well. A dealer friend keeps it stocked up with incredibly good prices. Unfortunately i have everything they have so far.
Books go back to mid 60's silver age. Examples. .FF # 65,66 early X -men, avengers #40, 62. Just naming a few with great prices.😊
If play Reed in a heart beat!!!
@@AlextheComicHoarder haha 😄 😆 🤣 I'll bet
Nice haul 👽🍻
Awesome haul my friend 💯
Bat 457 = 1st appearance of the updated Robin costume. No more short-shorts. LOL And the version with real value is the Newsstand 2nd print.
Yes! I feel like I have found different versions of that book, but not sure if it was the big money book.
I alway find just the opposite of good bargains. The thrift places just Google lens the item and price them like they see on the Internet, not considering the grade or condition. The Internet has made it way more difficult to find those bargins. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I do hunt thrift stores but rarely find anything that interests me.
Yeah it’s few and far between. Best would be to leave your number and have them call when they get some in possibly.
Like the dc books but I went to one years ago got Incredible Hulk #117 for a dollar.
That is a score! Well done.
I have found some at Goodwill
I have a few dollar books for you, if you're interested. I heard you collect comicbooks 😊
Haha. Yes!!! Their prices actually used to be like 25 cents per comic.
😂😂😂😂
