  • Parents frightened for their kids, fed up with their government and demanding to know: What will it take to clear out the homeless camp under Seattle's Ship Canal Bridge for good? Parents' pleas were heard all the way in Olympia and Gov. Jay Inslee told FOX 13 that state and local agencies were about to launch a major cleanup effort, but it still may not be enough to satisfy neighbors. The Spotlight also spoke with people experiencing homelessness who have been building their own solutions while waiting for permanent housing. But the result is threatening public safety on highways from Seattle to Spokane. Plus, a fix for the state's police pursuit policy advances in Olympia, but not without some big changes at the last minute.

@@MarkMayhewI live in WV, which most consider one of the poorest states in the US, however we don't have problems like this. 99% of these homeless people are addicts who love living like this. Democrat ran crap hole cities encourage open drugs, prostitution, violence, and homelessness. They love getting billions to "fix" a problem they created. The same people who claim to care about the environment, allow their cities to become trash dumps. Thank you Jesus that I live in a clean, safe, peaceful state. Heck, people don't even lock their doors around here. I feel sorry for those paying high taxes for nothing.

Sadly, unsheltered street homeless are fentanyl addicts, and they will destroy any housing we put them in because they are not mentally capable of living in any organized manner. They smoke fentanyl pills popular blues that contain fentanyl, rat poison, horse tranquilizer, sedative benzo, nitazene chemicals, and such. P2P based meth is laced with fentanyl and wasp dope. All street drugs including street marijuana are laced with fentanyl nowadays. Synthetic street drugs are extremely destructive and destroy humans mentally and physically beyond the point of repair very quickly. They reject help, shelters, rehab, treatment programs, and such. Philiadelphia, some parts have constructed a place to treat people on DRUGS, one of the biggest problems with Homeless. The treatment goes beyond. To help educate, train for basic skill labors, clothes to ware while in treatment , and clothes when the apply for a job. Cost is far less, had a lot of success, but the problem is like a Diet. Some over weight people can feel great for loosing 20-25 lbs. but to many, is not that noticeable. Same with the money to help homeless. For every 25-50 you help, get them on the right track , 20-50 slip into the empty spot. Yes , agree, miss management is a big problem .. but when diversity is top priority to be hired, the more the more problems seem to crop up , and findings are just that. GREED. affects any race.

@Cat Murphy the homeless aren't the actual problem, and if you can't see that.. or see what the real problems are, you should respectfully keep your thoughts to yourself, because you look ignorant and sheltered.
Edit: Just gonna spell it out, the people who run the state.. housing, pretty much all infrastructure, they've built this state up to cater and attract those with money.. not the people who've grown up here and suffer while they continue to make $3000+ studio "apartments."
Or, they turn what was going to be affordable housing for the homeless.. into refugee camps.
It's the government, and the fact that the people they employ are clearly not qualified to be making decisions..
Oh, and it's worse when you got people who just say homeless are "Just down on they're luck" or, "they're the dangerous element." This state and the way it's run is the dangerous element.. and helped these issues along.

No. This is a common red herring of leftists. It’s not Communism that’s the problem. It’s just that one Communist.
It’s not Insley. It’s the democrat party beliefs and policies.
Strip honest people of the right to defend themselves.
Handcuff police because they’re evil. Cashless bail, parole, refuse to enforce the law, refuse to lock up criminals and if you do don’t KEEP them locked up, legalize drugs and portray these street bums as noble victims.
      What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
Then you see democrat stranglehold cities and states enacting the same policies and get the same results.
Explain it away as white supremacy racism and then rinse and repeat.
Democrat voters are a mindless cult that refuses to see what’s right in front of them. Because people who work hard, play by the rules and want law and order are somehow privileged racists. Yup ok. Decent people leave and take their businesses and money with them which just leaves the nonproductive who are a net drag on society and you have yet another third world dystopian nightmare on your hands.
Now move to a red state, start voting the same policies that got you your hellhole and begin destroying another community or area.
The democrat/marxist party is a cancer on the body politic that literally destroys everything it touches. And half the country refuses to see.

Oh really exactly what part of what I said was ignorant ? Because I've lived it I've been homeless so I'm sorry it's kind of not possible for me to be ignorant of the topic because to be ignorant I have to not have known any better and unfortunately I do. And I never claimed that certain government and charitable programs don't make it easier to stay on the streets however that doesn't change my earlier statement about the nation's attitude towards homelessness being deplorable and the fact that assistance programs exist does not mean that they are sufficient ,effective ,or easily accessible to homeless individuals. Personally I think a work program employing the homeless to clean the city by picking up trash from the sides of freeways or public parks for minimum wage and arrange for transportation to and from these large encampments to a distribution facility where the homeless will go from to whatever location they are assigned to clean and return there and the end of the work day it would also be beneficial for this facility to have available showers so after they work all day and sweat they can be clean when they return to their encampment thus slowing the spread of diseases which would be a win win win all the way around the homeless would be employed and clean giving them improved odds of rehabilitation the city would be cleaner as a result and there would be less hangers about during the day . Even the homeless encampments would begin to look less trashy. And of course there would have to be requirements for employment such as not being allowed to work on days the individual arrived under the influence of an abused substance as well as keeping a certain daily quota of trash that mush be collected daily in order to continue to receive employment .

This is how the behavior , starts. Many moms clean up after their kids , so they do not have to listen to them. And many homeless are the same way. Nothing is expected.. Look at what is happing with the young , Snatch and Grab. ooh look , they now let them do it. Call the police the kids get back out in a couple hours. Steal a car, same. get out that day, or the next. Rob someone , oh well . There fault for answering the door. LEARNED BEHAVIOR. Problem is rents are going so high , because far too many did not pay rent, or any when given the couple of thousands of dollars when TRUMP was President. NOT one DIME. AND the Mess and damages so many leave behind. SO, many homeless end up in such an area. ONE LADY SAID when She is debating of renting, she asks to SEE THE POSSIBLE RENTERS CAR, WHY? because if their car is a total mess inside, more than likely they will treat their rental unite the same way. Now, because of so many terrible Renters, you have to fill out an application FIRST, with a 25 dollar processing fee, which allows the landlord to see if the person has and previous convictions. THIS IS WHAT MANY HOMELESS CREATED.. They made bad choices, took advantage of others, blamed it on "WOE IS ME'. everyone else is to blame

The type of homeless that form these "camps" are mostly there because they refuse to work and prefer to get high all day, and are not held accountable.Other normal homeless find stealth places to live quietly, cleanly or live out of their cars and find whatever work to make it day to day. These camp homeless are encouraged to stay homeless because the government gives them money every month, food stamps, free medical care, feed them for free 2-3 times per day, offer places where they can wash their laundry and take showers for free, so what do you expect? for them to go get jobs? why would they?
