I have said this before in another video but what Salah said yesterday is what most footballers do when they are on there final year of there contracts. He is clearly implying hes open to talk to Liverpool but at the same time if nothing happens then he will go for free at the end of the season.
As a Liverpool fan myself i have no issues with his comments I would like my club to tie him up to another 2-3 year contract because i believe hes the kind of player who will be effective even in his mid 30s considering how well he looks after himself. If he does leave on a free he will still be regarded as one of the top 5 best Liverpool players of all time and obviously the greatest right winger the premier league has ever seen.

I completely agree, plus if he didn't want to continue to play for us then he wouldn't have said anything, and as fit as he keeps himself without smoking or drinking asw as how competitve he is I'd honestly rather sign him for 3-5 years even if it means selling Nunez, Elliott, and Chiesa before he's even played a game because he will be playing at this high of a level with likely minimal injuries into his late 30's while crushing every Liverpool record during that time period yn.
Mo Salah is the most consistent forward in world football over the last 9 years bar Messi/Ronaldo. He has 59 GA against the big six. The ultimate big game player. He has never had a season without at least 35 G/A. If he was European he would have won at least a ballon d'or by now. When will ESPN give him his respect?

I'm a Chelsea fan. Honestly, Salah is very very fit. He's clearly able to play for 2-3 more years. Give him a 2+1 year contract. He wants to stay. I'm sure if Pep stays at City more years, they'll offer KDB a 2 year contract.

Salah is of African and Arabic descent. This fact alone gives him a lot of disadvantage as in people are always second guessing his qualities and underrating him despite the fact that at the moment he is one of the best forwards in the world, perhaps even the best. If he had been from Europe he would have won at least one Ballon d'or by now.

You realize Saudi can pay him 2,000,000 per week right? Ronaldo makes 3,400,000 per week. Neymar and Benzema 1,650,000. Salah is better than all 3, younger and the same faith/culture as Saudi.
Understandable when a new manager comes in to hold off any contract talks to see how the players adapt and perform. But everything looks great the transition feels seamless. And mo sounds happy to stay.

With the form that he has been since the season started and overall how elite he has been in tbt last 7-8 years, Liverpool should be doing everything in their power to keep Mohamed Salah for a little longer as the player wants to stay at the club and he looks as if he can keep playing at this level for many more years. When he came out and said that it’s his last year at Liverpool and they haven’t offered him a new contract, Salah was saying that it’s the final year of his contract at the club meaning that his future hasn’t entirely been decided since as much as he wants to stay, things change so quickly as he could end up leaving as we don’t know what’s going to happen. I would 100% keep him as he’s still their most decisive player in attack as the guy continues scoring goals he’s in excellent form and this season he has been off to a great start and at an age where elite wingers start to decline, he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Realistically speaking based off of his numbers, no matter how many good wingers there are, there isn’t a direct replacement for him as it’s just a testament to how good and irreplaceable he is to this team. For both parties there are a lot of things that that has to be taken in consideration in regard to a player when they’re in their final months of their contract.
Salah: (length of the contract, his wages, the trajectory of the team, recruitment and on field performances and whether they’re not they’ll be in a position to continue challenging for trophies, hunger there to compete at the highest level and what his intentions are), Liverpool: (age, policy when it comes to the contract length of players over 30 years, form, longevity; how long they can be effective for the team, long term future, should they build around him, look for a replacement as they won’t get a lot of money out of him as his market value continues to drop as he gets older etc. .). Liverpool at the end of the day have to keep their talisman since Salah is still an integral player for their team and Arne Slot knows the importance of having a player like him in the squad not just because of his quality, he’s also proven and experienced and still has some good years of football left in him, as I said before, the player will take some things into consideration and it’s the same thing with the club as well and when I say this, I’m not saying that he’ll end up leaving.
He's been on the decline for years. You're blinded by these 3 first games, where he's been playing well after a whole summer off.

Salah looks after himself at a similar level to Ronaldo and is still performing at a high level.
Liverpool will definitely offer him a new deal.
The argument that if he drops off it’s a risk is a fallacy. His value is $0 currently and if he signed a short deal he would be worth at least $50m and Liverpool recoup any wages he cost. And that’s even if he gets injured because he looks after himself so well.
Liverpool clearly wanted to see how the season and Mo’s form. I’d say he will likely sign a new deal in the next month, along with Trent and Van Dijk.

VVD, Salah and Trent have all been through this and should know the club structure limitation. What I don't understand is why there wasn't any club representative in any discussion with their career future. They don't need to agree at any point, but constant discussion with your employee/player about their career future is always necessary. I would have expect Hughes to talk to them first thing he step into the office to at least understand their expectation so he can plan his future transfer strategy. I dont see the problem. You look at signing a striker who is 26 for 80 million. Give him a 4 year contract. At the end of the contract he is 30 years old and you spent 20 million per year on amortization. So you can give a bigger contract to mo and still save money. He is in the best shape of pretty much anyone in soccer. But even if he fades you can still sell him to Saudi league. I wouldn't have any problem giving him 4 years.
