    That is the most beautiful knife I've ever seen! If I could ever afford to get it that would be my Holy Grail Piece!

    Czechoslovakia ceased to exist 30 years ago. It divided into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993.

      Went to Prague before and after 93... Same place, different city.
      Becherovka !

      @Stahlwerk88 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spent some time there in 2005… such a strange, unique city. When I was there Czechia was becoming part of the EU and the cost of living was sooo, so low. As in, I went from spending $6 for a 33cl can of Coke in Lucerne, to spending $4 for a full meal and a pint of beer in Prague.

    • @Bisley1
      @Bisley1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Stahlwerk88the only way to spend 6$ for a coke can in Lucerne is at a bar or restaurant, with service and a glass. At a Kiosk or (expensive) vending machine perhaps 2-3.5$ and at the store it will be about 1.5$ or so.
      But yeah, Switzerland is the most expensive “normal” place I know, not counting super expensive luxury locations. Just on average. A beer will cost from 6-10$ most anywhere in Switzerland. When I went to the Czech Republic in 2007 a beer was around 2$ at a bar/restaurant

    Awesome video MC, what an exceptional display of knife artistry. I really enjoy makers that do those subtle tanto's while also not having an immediate angle change between the bevels.
    Just a heads up, I caught some words from a content creators fans a couple of months ago for calling Czechoslovakia a country (mistakenly). The Czech Republic and Slovakia have actually been 2 independent countries since 1993. It's an honest mistake that I know I've made before, but the people who pointed it out to me sure as hell never let me forget it lol
    Thanks for the video and the review🤘
    Edit: Just noticed all the other comments about the 2 countries so disregard my comment about it 😂

    Surprisingly, it doesnt take much time to get a polish like this. I used an old sock and some green stropping compound on my Kizer Mad Tanto and got it looking like this within 30mins. Worth a try if you want something that looks like this for cheap.

    I found my Grail knife I never thought I'd really have one. First polish DLC I've seen and I love it. It looks like a blade from one of the series I read. Dang it complex I never thought I would find 1 in that tier

    I usually dont like carbon fibre, but that looks insane - in the best way possible! And the look of the blade i perfect, with that handle!
    Art.. that knife is art.

    That's a good-looking knife. It's nice to see another player from the Czech Republic come into the market with something that's distinctive. The polished DLC looks great.

    I got a book spot a couple weeks ago. I basically ordered the one that Skelton reviewed (red dark matter cf, + DLC) but added the timascus backspacer. It's going to be a while, but I'm really looking forward to it.

    Jan will also delete the lanyard hole/slot if you want. I have red dark matter CF on mine, and it has one teeny tiny little void in it but that's it. These are really great knives. I would happily pay $800 for this knife. And as far as I know the DLC blade is standard, no extra cost.

    Bizarre, all these countries making this hardware. A tough sell to convince relevance. Are any of these shops going to be around for warranty support or just in general? Companies tend to come and go like the fleeting wind. Let these be for their locals. I have zero interest. MC covers all knives from everywhere, which is great. That net is too wide for me.

    • @metal_complex
      @metal_complex  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So no one should ever try to start a business? I mean usually these guys won't bite off more than they can chew. Many of them are far more reliable when it comes to warranty work than the larger companies. I feel like you haven't spent much time in the knife community.

    700 dollars is far from reasonable pricing. It's insane, and extremely overpriced. Even if that was one hundred percent hand forged.

    • @mrdoughface
      @mrdoughface ปีที่แล้ว

      How much do you think it should cost?

    • @merzbow89
      @merzbow89 ปีที่แล้ว

      And this is based on… what exactly? If the maker spent 10 hours making this knife and works for an hourly rate of $40 you would already be at $400. Add to that the cost of raw materials (Elmax, fatcarbon and titanium are not cheap), the cost of a CNC machine ($90,000) and other machines, depreciation of those, milling drills, grinding machines, dlc coating, titanium screws, pivots, detent balls, cages, and any other instrument that is needed for a single person to make such a knife, and you get to a number like $700 very easily. Your comment only shows how little you know about craftsmanship and the world of manufacturing.

    • @mrdoughface
      @mrdoughface ปีที่แล้ว

      @@merzbow89 I think a lot of people aren't self employed or don't understand how expensive it is to run a business. Even in the Czech Republic, I'm sure costs have risen and people don't work for free, or loan out their CNC machines on the cheap.

    Please send Scott our condolences I saw on instagram his brother passed which is terrible, even worse he was evidently a very respected law enforcement official
