the world has been such an ugly place in 2016. so much division and hatred going all around. football's corruption didn't help people looking for distraction. then, the entire world fell in love with the little country of 300K who had such heart and passion on and off the pitch. thank you, iceland, for giving the world - and your country - something and someone to cheer for.
I wonder if I'm right Iceland has a population of 350,000? I want to go to Iceland!!! The culture and the nature are wonderful!!! My favorite Icelandic player is the one from Everton is Gylfi Sigurdsson!!! The national anthem are tears to my eyes, Lofsöngur is the name of the anthem!!! God Bless Iceland!!! Amen.
I remember going with my family to minor league baseball games in Tampa, FL when I was a kid. That's when EVERYBODY, belted out our national anthem and were proud of it. Many years later here at the ballpark in Jacksonville, FL NOBODY opens their mouths to sing. They bring in somebody to do it for us. It's regrettable, but how are you gonna sing with your mouth full of chips and cheese dip ?
