@Tj Z ... The Māori people first arrived in New Zealand approx 700 year ago, in fleets of ocean-going canoes (called waka) from Eastern Polynesian. On arrival (approx between 1320 and 1350) they found it uninhabited, and gave it the name Aotearoa. This means that New Zealand was the last large land mass in the world to be settled by humans. There is no evidence of pre-Māori settlement of New Zealand.

Than you should look to Scandinavia not Poland or Iceland most vikings were Scandinavian/swedish/Norwegian pagans very few were from Iceland this chant isn't even original it's made up look up hakkaskaldyr. It's a Germanic tribes chant the people before the vikings the Old days.

@Novy Honza Well looking at it geographically no, then the Scandinavian countries would be: Norway, Denmark and Sweden. It was commonly Brits and Norwegians who moved there, thus making Iceland a bit of a mix. It was basically an uncotrolled island owned by no one until the 13th century when it became of Norwegian rule. You can't call the inhabitants of the island vikings, since they simply weren't vikings, and that's the actual truth.
TL;DR: Iceland isn't part of Scandinavia, and Icelanders can't be considered vikings.

Well, there are mayans and aztecs. Aztecs were probably 10 times more feared than the comanches native americans, while the mayans had not only a whole civilization, but a very powerful understanding of mathematics and astronomy. Nearly 90 percent of my blood comes from icelandic, nordic, aztec, and mayan decent. A leathal combination if you think about it.

The Viking age was ended by the Christianization of Scandinavia, and eventually Iceland, almost 1000 years ago now. The viking age is often romanticized which is strange as modern scandinavians have as much in common with vikings and modern Greeks have with ancient Greeks - very little.
Sure the people of Iceland are the closest living descendants of vikings today, but there are two things nit considered there.
1 - The viking age ended there also centuries ago.
2 - The reason for the people of Iceland being so closely related to vikings is actually a mix between isolation and inbreeding. The fact is there is a government department in Iceland whose job it is to make sure that if you are about to date or have sex with another that you are not related. Don't believe me? Check it out, no word of a lie.

Brad Bitcon True, mostly northern and eastern England because that fell under Danelaw. Although some were Norwegians, most were Danes (hence the name). Besides Icelanders historically have Norwegian ancestry (in fact, almost pure, when I visited I learned that those originally from Iceland can trace their ancestry back to at least 874 AD, provided their ancestors had been living their since the 1703 census). There’s also the Germanic tribes, Celtic and Norman ancestry in addition. England was the melting pot of North and Western Europe. Of course this assumes all of one’s ancestors originate from England/Scotland/Ireland.
Iceland has a national database of ancestry given its small population. I also heard that someone originally from Iceland usually will not marry someone from outside, though I can’t comment on the authenticity of that.
Database if interested, though only people with an Icelandic national ID can access: islendingabok.is/

It's been months since I started listening to Scandinavian, vikings chants. I absolutely love it. I'm Asian and although we have our own chants here in PH, it's refreshing to hear sounds from a different culture. I love the intensity, depth and the power that they carry.

När tappade vi svenskar allt vårat Vikingablod?

@@bigdickmcgee3293 In Iceland _liberalism_ is deeply associated with protecting and providing for all of your own people - *that is masculine Viking nobility.*
You're conflating liberalism with divisive gender identity politics.
Additionally, being a classical liberal allows you to keep a very open mind and listen to new ideas. It doesn't mean you blindly accept every harebrained theory invented by a Marxist gender studies professor or that you automatically align yourself with globalist social-engineers simply because they call themselves a _liberal._

Tübermensch maybe they lack “divisive gender identity politics” because of a consensus among the people to not deny trans people their rights. They have some of the most progressive laws around gender dysphoria as well. So I don’t really see your point.

Chilcoo most liberals aren’t soyboys. I posted that comment because the OP is clearly trying to imply that Iceland is some conservative stronghold which it is not.
