would you agree that this is generally based on intuition? Although its defenetly a trainable intuition. mostly done through figure drawing regularly over time.
You can certainly develop a sense of it that's familiar enough to intuit, for sure! I do think there's an irrefutable aspect to balance when you consider the overall weight, flow, etc, it's universal.
yeah it sure seems to be that way :). now that i got you i have question about something a bit more buisness related. You are not a famous character artist, you dont have a big internet presence, but do people like you earn enoug money to live of character art? i myself am doing a lot of self study. most colleges in my area don't make much difference knowledge/ skill wise. would you say that after like 4 to 6 and maybe even 8 i would be able to make a comfortable living as a character focused artist even if i don't become big in the community?
+Levitation 0.0 Well, I'm sure you don't mean that the way it comes off, (😂) but I am trying, through avenues like this channel, to build that up. It really does take time. Years. Otherwise, remember that there were artists making a living through their work long before social media. There are also folks now with 20k followers, but no business plan, and they're broke. While there can be a correlation between popularity and income, they aren't necessarily always matching each other. I do perfectly fine through client work even now, and that comes from being professional and desirable to clients. Even with the very tiny presence I have online currently, I've reached plenty of clients that keep me quite busy. Keep up the self study, and be smart about who you take on as clients. Don't race to the bottom on price. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me through the contact section of my site. Thanks for asking this actually, as it's something I think a lot of folks are wondering!
do you think a pair of shorty round shape little feets can stand on their own balance plus to carry huge mass of body. example: baymax ... ? yea i wun to design a character like him.
Man I've been watching all of your videos for the last 3 weeks!!! Theyre all sooooo GOOD!

I do comic writing, but not the art, and I know you had a one on one thing, could I still run stuff by you?
Isn't an S curve basically a sine wave?
can you talk about balance but balance in composition in characters or character design xd and not in poses?
