I have the airwrap and I like it.. Got it in 2022 and still have and use it now. In my opinion, the reason it takes forever for you to dry your hair is because you do not use the blower attachment first and go straight to using the smoothing brush. You have to try blow drying the roots area first until it’s about 70% dry. The rest of your hair shouldn’t be as dry as the roots by the end of this process then you can use the smoothing brush on the first 5-6 inches from the roots of your hair only. The ends need to be damp then you can use the curling barrels. You definitely need to do the cool shot, it makes the curl stay longer because the cool air seals the curl, contrary to what you said that it makes the curls fall faster. I’m not hating but this is literally how Dyson instructed to use the airwrap on their website yet you chose to do it another way then proceed to say that it doesn’t work as well for you. I have the same length of hair as you and mine is more curly but it only takes me 30 minutes to do it.

My curls last beautifully for 4 days because the first day I don’t brush them out, apart from the top section, then I retwist around my finger. Hair in satin scrunched low pony to sleep in and satin pillow case also. My blow dry lasts most of the week. My hair is coarse and curly, frizzy mess and I swear by my Dyson, takes me half hour from wet to dry 😊 try not brushing it out it may work

Do you use the air wrap barrels on dry or damp hair. I’ve been coarse frizzy hair so I’m struggling I need the top to be smooth yet if I straighten it out too much and then curl it, it falls so fast. If you don’t mind explaining how you go from wet to dry?

Thanks for being so honest! I have the same problems and also am very frustrated that I spent so much money on a tool which takes me 4x longer than a normal curling iron and doesn't even makes my curles stick in the end. Also in my opinion the hair gets damaged equally because instead of short very high heat exposure its now long and still pretty high heat exposure.

I swear I appreciate it, but the reality is dyson airwrap isn’t meant for every persons hair type. Just because it works for you, doesn’t mean it works for me, Although I really wish it did. Thank you ❤

If you want it to be smoother when you're drying it use the round brush instead. It's the bette roption for curly/wavy hair whereas the flat brush works best on straight hair

Considering you used the smoothing attachment (for blow drying) prior to curling is likely why you’re having difficulty with your curls. You’re breaking down the bonds in your hair to be smooth and then trying to curl. But I can see why you are trying to do this to remove the frizz!

My hair fold with dyson lasts 10 minutes..it's wasted money...Even the smooth fold, lasts little. If I do shampoo in the evening, the morning after the hair is frizzy again.

I have had my Dyson air wrap since June and I absolutely love it! I can get my hair done in half the time that I did with a normal flat iron. Lately after watching another tutorial I have been avoiding the cool shot and NOT turning it off between sections and I get it done so much quicker and my curls lasts even longer! I wouldn’t trade it for anything

I think it all depends on hair type and length. I have thick curly/frizzy,medium length hair which usually takes 25 minutes to dry and straighten. With Dyson it takes 11 minutes dry, straighten and add a few curls. I love my Dyson. I’ve been a hairstylist for 30 years so results may be different for others.

I have the airwrap, long curly hair, and i take maximum 20 min to curl my hair.
girl, you can put way more hair on it at once, try it! the sections can be big, just not thick, example: a section from the top of your ear to the neck.
other, i found that using hair oil right after makes the curls go away, you have to use hairspray, and just use oil some hours after. the curl last at least 3 days when i do it well, when i do "wrong" they don't last even 1h.
another thing, I found that using the blower attachment really goes a long way. I use it just for 1 or 2 min, is already enought for it do stay only damp and not wet.

  • @janinabeck4167

Ok, I think you are using it wrong, because my hair looks gerat after using the brush … I have a lot of hair and I have frizzy long hair. It takes 20 min… ☺️ and the way you do the beach waves is wrong too, you have to hold the hot button only a few seconds and after the cold Button for a few seconds..

I have thick wavy frizzy hair just like hair and as well takes me 2 hours to style it 😅 I have used for two years and went to a he dyson store for tutorials. It takes a lot. Totally agree with you!
If I’m paying 500$ on this, I don’t want to use so many styling products for lasting my curls longer.
While I’m curling the other side of my hair, the first one, curled one, is already straight 😂
Smoothing brush - totally useless for me. It makes my hair straight, but not it’s not silky and smooth.
So, I just use my Dyson for a blow dry, only that one attachment (which is really good, must say), but, basically I can do that with any other blow dry brush, Revlon, for example.

  • @dianebishopdesigns
    @dianebishopdesigns ปีที่แล้ว +5

I noticed you used a hair oil on your hair after curling. If I use hair oil regardless of the styling tool my curls will drop a lot faster so I would try without the oil and use a hairspray and see if the result lasts longer for you.

Thank you for your honest review! In my opinion, your hair looks great after styling it with the Dyson, but you are right. It is not worth the money if the style does not last and also takes you 2 hrs to do your hair. That’s crazy. I am a mom of a 16 month baby boy and work full time, so I do not have a lot of time on my hands. I am considering whether I should get it or not because I do not want to be stuck with such an expensive tool that does not work for me. I have thin hair, but I have a lot of hair and my hair gets frizzy a lot specially with the humidity. I guess, the only way to find out if it works for me is to try it out.

Just got my Dyson… i have extremely thick and frizzy hair. In my first try too, it only took me 45 mins max. Once i get used it, it shoudnt take longer than 20 mins. So for your thin hair, it shouldnt take more than 20 mins either.
I suggest buy it, and you get a 30 day trial period. If you dont like it, send it back :D
I do agree that its an expensive purchase.

Girl, you can use regular plastic rollers or heated rollers, your hair won't be damaged and the curls will last. I also style my hair once a week, I have long thick curly hair, so I spend an extra time with styling that one day and then I can just forget about it and live the next week 😁. I am grateful for your video because I wanted to try the Dyson. But the price, seriously 🤦‍♀️ It is not about if I can or can't afford it, only I find the product overpriced.

I have 2 dysons( the dryer and the air wrap with all the tools) and I’m very disappointed with their products. The curls won’t last and I’ve tried everything! From constantly changing hair products to watching videos how to get it done to trying different approaches and is literally a waste of time. I have long thick hair, with a tendency of being always dehydrated no matter how many oil mask and treatments I do!
The conclusion I always end up doing my curls with a 50 dollar Remington curler which works perfectly for my hair.

I purchased the Dyson but after washing my hair, rough drying it, then sectioning ( that also drives me nuts) and staring at all the attachments wondering where should I begin?
By the time I did just that my arms were already getting tired and it is much louder then I expected it to be. I gave up and used my T3 hot rollers.
I seriously don’t want to spend so much time trying to style my hair. It’s not nearly as thick as yours but definitely needs smoothing and my goal is to get more volume. I’m still on the fence and will give it another try before deciding if I should keep or return. Anyone else where I am on that?

After a while it really doesn't take that long. Just accept the learning curve. Watch the styling tips from people with simikar hair types as your own- otherwise you will be disappointed when you dont get the same results. And read the manual. Your hair will thank you for it!

So not sure if you realize but your making your process 10 times longer then it needs to be . I have longer hair then I and mine to gets frizzy. But you first airbrush your bangs for body then the rest of your damp hair you go straight with the skinny barrel and it drys and curls all your hair perfect! Then at very end I curl my bangs back they are flawless beautiful curls. You are doing so much extra that’s so unnecessary. And lastly, I’m not saying it for sure but I think that your Dyson looks like a replica. Did you get your Dyson from the actual Dyson store because of the buttons don’t look correct like the little dots where it has cool air doesn’t look right
