    The phrase "military grade" always make me chuckle. People think that means it's high quality.....in reality it's usuallly just about good enough.

      exactly lol. Heard a looooooot of stories of ex marines/army veterans or just soldiers in service saying their weapon being "military grade" is like saying "it's been used for only 7 years prior to you!"

      I did the same thing until I felt a civilian AR15 copy and realized that military grade usually only applies to things that kill. Everything else is a gimmick for sure lol

      To be honest, mil-spec aircraft parts are really high quality and cost a lot. The reason why switches in real military aircraft are so expensive is because if a switch would fail, they want to trace it back to the exact machine/factory that made it. They make sure they work for 40+ years

    I have the pto2. I like it mostly. I just wish the landing gear, tail hook, and wing fold switches were made more durable. Being plastic, they can easily break imo.

    I'm disappointed that they are going to all plastic construction. I understand that they can't make the 3D front panel out of steel economically, but certainly the sides and back could have been steel. Their all steel construction is what attracted me to WinWing in the beginning and they now seem to be running in cost reduction mode (theirs, not ours as they didn't lower the msrp). I also have to give them crap for not making the mounting holes the same distance apart as the original. WTF WinWing? I agree, any excuse to go play in the shop but most folks don't have a shop....

      Teacypher nice to hear from you. I found the parking brake to be a bit of a puzzle. The magic is this. Push the left side down once, then pull once. The parking break will be set. To release it, push the left side down again and it's done.

    Things have come a long way since i landed my Phantom jet on a carrier deck aged 11 yrs old lol . The game was called Flight Deck and was a generic plastic Phantom jet with a plastic hook that was on a pulley that you had to land on a printed cardboard carrier deck . If you landed right your hook would catch a thread that would stop your plane and two plastic flags would pop up . The good thing is that with fishing line you could extend the range and speed of the plane .
    If you were really inventive though and had the diecast Corgi toy Phantom and some Meccano and fishing line you could really get some sort of feel to the game as the weight made the landing so much harder .

    Hello Hope you’re doing great could you please make a video where the rapier system or maybe the NASAMS anti-aircraft system tries to stop russian close air support. There is a possibility of the rapier system being donated to Ukraine, but if that doesn’t happen it would be nice to see if other anti-aircraft systems could you do the job. or maybe you could do a simulation where they are used in a different way, whatever you want. By the way the Kinjal hypersonic missile is actually classified as an air launched ballistic missile, because its terminal velocity isn’t hypersonic, it’s actually below three times the speed of sound. It can go hypersonic, but only in its boost phase, even the V2 can go hypersonic during a part of its boost phase I did the math , the way is your model it is going at 4000 knots that’s six times the speed of sound more than double its actual terminal speed. I’m going to put an emphasis on terminal speed because it’s different from max speed in general

    I am a relatively new DCS pilot. But I have come to enjoy the WW products. You might also mention that the PTO2 will mount to the same clamp as the DDIs if you already have the WW MIP. For me it was a perfect solution to be located under the Left DDI.

      Unfortunately I have a cockpit and when mounted in this orientation it hits my knees. Even with myself being on the shorter side at 5'6 it's a little sad. The button box however is good quality.

  • @letsridehard
    @letsridehard ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have both, the PTO 1 was built with much better quality. The gear and hook levers were made of metal, feel heavier, and have a much better satisfactory click to its function.
    The PTo2 looks nicer but the quality feels very toysh and plastic. The levers feel weak and easily breakable. The plastic break handle barely moves and does not hold in place.
    I will be selling my PTO 2 and will keep the original one

  • @jwilder47
    @jwilder47 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think I misunderstood something, did you say that the Gear and Hook levers needed to be pulled out to raise or lower? I thought the pull function on both of those levers was only to trigger the emergency extension.

    • @wildbillkelso2083
      @wildbillkelso2083 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the gear and hook need to be pulled 5mm before traveling either up or down. There is a neutral center position that I tried to use while flying, so that I could just bump it either way to have it drop into either trigger. That didn't work so well, when I accidentally dropped the hook, while pressing the wing station buttons. I can't say it is so in RL with the tail hook, but having flown many RL retractable gear AC, pulling the gear handle before traveling up or down is standard.

    • @jwilder47
      @jwilder47 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wildbillkelso2083 I guess I'm so used to "click the switch and the gear go down" that I didn't know that was how it actually worked.
      I have the Saitek panels (switch/radio/multipanel) and the gear lever on those just goes up and down.

    +GrimReapersAtomic *WinWinGᵀⓇ doesn't follow the Boeing original, unlike Tek Creationsᵀᴹ.* The Hook and Wing Fold levers, rather than to starboard, are to port. The switches are WAY too close to be practical, as well. If I had my druthers concerning the universal simpit, I'd transfer a Tek Creations spare LED Gear wheel to a VIRPILⓇ Control Panel #2 (VPC-402) on the port corner, and a Tek Creations spare LED Hook handle to a VIRPILⓇ Control Panel #2 (VPC-402) on the starboard corner. Tandem VIRPILⓇ Control Panels #1 (VPC-401) on the starboard level, and a Virtual Engineering Bureau ST⩥ECSᵀᴹ Standard, appropriately altered, on the port level.

    I think you missed talking about the feel on the selective jettison outer ring movement which looks "cheap" and without notches like the first PTO had. Sure is better overall but it lost that it seams. Also the Braking brake movements looks really cheap and half done imho. And... gear and hook levers are so plasticky... I tend to hit things in VR (like the throttles of my Bravo quadrant.... they are strong but I sure would love those lever on PTO 2 not to be so flimsy.
