The BDIF result nobody wanted and everyone expected. 😭 Amazing play from Tord, regardless.
I was there for the Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic. Was great to see some of the TCG matches live whilst also being able to get involved with the hype for the other games. Copied Tord's deck onto Live and excited to try it out
Slowly moving from collecting them all to learning about playing and I'm really enjoying your videos. Thanks for the clear explanations and down to earth delivery!
Thanks for watching!
Good deck just starting get tierd of seeing it online 90% of the decks I go against is zard
It’s a side effect of being a free deck that also happens to be the best deck in the game. While it can be annoying, it’s at least reflective of what the in-person play experience is like, where Charizard also rules supreme:

I’ll take this over the deck wasteland that was PTCGO (the previous Pokemon TCG client), where meta decks were so hard to come by that the entire meta warped around cheap and wacky decks that was driven more by the harshness of the in-game economy rather than what decks were actually good. I’m glad they give away the best decks for free now and unlocking new cards is much easier than before.
This video's are very useful!! I recently discovered this channel and I love the content. Never stop making videos, they're great!
Thank you for watching!
First impressions is I have no idea how this deck works the way it does but it is magical. I should have gotten whopped using it vs the mirror match. Eventually he got stalled and this deck just showed out! I can’t really understand it but the creator is pretty genius.
I was out of the game for 7-8 months… I was a mew player, but after the rotation I was crush without knowing what to play… this deck it is great… I’ll try it! Thanks a lot for the explanation… new subscriber here.
New to playing and find your videos very helpful
Thank you as usual! Worth noticing that Espathra was in the top 30 if I do not mistake.
28:40 :) You had Arven. Then Candy and Stone instead of Ultra ball would still get you a pidgeot. Sometimes the mind plays werid games and make us beleive we can get a Stage 2 only with ultra ball but the stone it's there for that :) Unofrtunately you had to discard an Iono there
How can you deal with Vulpix Vstar using this deck? It not a very common deck but the chance of findint it will increase since it's an easy auto win vs charizard.
I’ve seen some Zard lists running a copy of Gouging Fire for the Vulpix matchup. If it is something you see commonly I would look into something like that.
If you really want to, you could theoretically tech in something like a Gouging Fire as the other commenter said.
As it stands now, Arceus Vulpix has a usage rate of 1.17%.

Maybe adding some buffer for other decks that might run Vulpix, it’s maybe at most 2%. Unless the meta you play in happens to have a lot of Vuplix running around, it may not be worth it to tech your deck specifically to Vulpix if it means you’re worse into the other 98-99% of matches you’ll play.
@@TJMead none of the top 8 decks had GF in their zard deck so it looks like it does not represent a real problem. Normally a person who plays Vulpix wont end up in top so if it really happens to face them in Swiss, you can lose or win provided they cant set up properly
@@ChauffeurGoPro I was meaning specifically for the ladder. I think what OP was getting at was the popularity of these top 8 decks will go up on live.
@@TJMead aah the ladder. Well still, a loss is less points than a win so provided you wre unlucky and meet a Vulpix and provided he sets up well and win then you have to make it up with a win
I added that Cleffa to my deck last year.
I love your videos and channel.
Thank you!
28:15 you couldve gotten the race candy and FSS for the pidgeot, no?
Yup. Didn’t see it in the moment!

boss's order Pulkia will mostly effective, cut opponent radian Grenninja shuriken
Was this event streamed anywhere?
Almost every major event is streamed on their official Twitch!

@@InThirdPerson yep sorry was a lazy question. Ty
Dude prime catcher is pointless just scoop up cyclone provides not only a heal so to say but if your bench is primed with charmander use another rare candy to instantly revolve into another infernal reign or charizard Ex for a 330 nuke. I just think bosses orders provides more than enough utility.
A few points:
- This video was published over a month ago and before the release of Twilight Masquerade. There was no Scoop Up Cyclone in the format at the time. It’s weird to be critical of a video for not mentioning a card that literally didn’t exist at the time it was published. (And yes, I will get around to making an updated Charizard video when I have the time to do so).
- Prime Catcher at the time certainly wasn’t worthless. The build I featured was Tord Reklev’s championship Charizard build that literally won the largest Pokemon TCG tournament ever outside of Japan (2,600+ players). You can watch him make great use of Prime Catcher in his matches that got broadcasted:

During the Temporal Forces meta, these other Charizard decks also finished 1st while using Prime Catcher:
1st place Orlando Regionals: limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/10886
1st Place Perth Regionals: limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/10868
1st place Special Event Buenos Aires: limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/11259
1st place Philippines Championship: limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/11626
1st place Johannesburg Special Event: limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/11560
Not to mention all of the 1st place wins that Charizard with Prime Catcher won in online tourneys. I’ll list just a few here, which should be more than enough to prove its worth.

- Even in a world where Scoop Up Cyclone exists, Charizard players are mostly using Maximum Belt and a few are still using Prime Catcher. While the current meta is still young, none of the top placing Charizard lists in the online tourney scene at the time of this post are using Scoop Up Cyclone:
play.limitlesstcg.com/decks/charizard-pidgeot?format=standard&rotation=2023&set=TWM
I’m not saying Scoop Up Cyclone is a bad card. Maybe someone at NAIC will show the community that Scoop Up Cyclone is truly the Ace Spec of choice for Charizard. Even if that does happen, Prime Catcher’s success in Charizard up until now has certainly proven it’s far from pointless.
🎉
Haha charizard ex is better than all

Most boring deck, cliche deck
