Maddy was addicted to Laudanum which contained opium. That's why she acted so strangely. Most of the time she was either high or in withdrawals.
This movie is fairly historically accurate. They even took some of the dialog during the showdown at the OK Corral straight from the newspaper reports that came out the day after it happened. Doc really did say, "You're a daisy if you do." And Doc really was as daring as he is portrayed. He knew he was a dead man anyway so he took chances most people wouldn't.

I'll be honest. Westerns are maybe my least favorite movie genre. But Tombstone is one of my favorite movies of all time. The first time I watched it was an accident because usually I'd see it was a western and I'd turn it off. But I was staying in some roadside motel in the mid 90's in some tiny Arkansas town and they had HBO and pretty much nothing else. So I had it on while I was working on other things and the longer it went the more interested I got. When I got home I rented it so I could really watch it and the rest is history. Just a fantastic movie with so many great lines and loaded with testosterone. Great stuff! Thanks for the reaction.

"You gonna do something or just stand there and bleed." literally the most quotable movie of all time I think, this isn't even close to the most quoted line as well....I'm sure you'll see the one I mean from others LOL

    Great Reaction.......
Wyatt Earp is a legend...... This movie covers about a 2 year span...... for a deeper look at his entire life I recommend "Wyatt Earp" with Kevin Costner made the same year.....
The Shoot out at the OK Corral in this movie is rated as one of closest to historical accounts.......
Wyatt, Virgil, Morgan were actual brothers (same parents), they actually had a younger brother James that is not referenced in this movie.......

Man I feel ya, I wish I had spent more time with a few family members but most recently my brother, don't let those chances past you by guys. If you can spend those extra moments with the ones you love, those other things you want to do can wait a little. Spend time with the fam guy's.
    Great reaction brother

Silverado, Pale Rider, Unforgiven, The Quick and The Dead, and Wyatt Warp (same essential story as Tombstone, staring Kevin Costner) come to mind in terms of modern westerns to watch.
    Enjoyed your reaction.

I can't tell you how happy I am that you paid attention to the intro. I can't tell you how many reactions to this movie that I've seen where people will say......."Why does Doc Holiday look so bad?" I'm like....."Did you people not watch the beginning?! Did you not pay attention at all?!" You are one of the few that actually did pay attention. I appreciate that. Now it's early. And hopefully you don't disappoint.........Well shit.......just as I'm typing that in, you make the statement about Wyatt Earp....."He's shutting everyone down. What was he doing before this?" lol That was something else that was clearly stated in the intro.....🙄 [.....sigh] Well......at least you remembered the tuberculosis thing......😏

21:49 That guy with the moustache is Wyatt Earp III, descendant of the original Wyatt Earp. Great grandson I believe. So awesome they put him in the movie and actors say talking with him was a great resource for making this story!

He didn't think the pistol was a pipe, it was brothers to the bone and he knew he couldn't win but also refused to stop being a cowboy and got really high real fast before taking a mercy killing to the head from Wyatt. Better to be head shot than several painful body shots in a fight. Brothers to the bone. And I guess technically you would call this western but it's one of the greatest films ever made period. Can't really compare this to other westerns and there are some good ones as well. There are movies in every genre that transcend the genres and are good to anyone watching them. This is one of them, could hate westerns and still like this movie.

What you said about watching old movies with your grandpa reminded me of doing the exact same with my grandpa and cousins. My grandpa had a big recliner and he would lounge back in that thing and me along with two of my cousins would climb up onto the recliner beside him and watch old westerns and comedies and stuff while we ate fresh popcorn. I haven’t thought of those memories in probably 25 years. They were some good times.

Love the channel & reactions bro! This is my favorite western & top 5 movie of all time, in my opinion. Val Kilmer is a legend. He should have won Best Supporting Actor that year. Your Granddaddy was right. Westerns are truly THE American mythology and fun to watch. It's part of our whole culture. Some modern western shows you might like are Longmire and especially Yellowstone. In fact, Sam Elliot (aka Virgil Earp) stars in 1883, the Yellowstone prequel & Harrison Ford stars in 1923, the next Yellowstone prequel. Fantastic shows all. I highly recommend. Enjoy them my friend.

    (Town) Marshall = City Police.
This was the job Virgil Earp took.
    Sheriff = County Sheriff
US Deputy Marshall = Wyatt Earp's new job he took after his brother's death. (That was the US Marshall for the Territory that tried to hire him when he got off the train in the beginning of the movie).

My grandpa used to watch Gunsmoke when I was a kid. I didn't get it then, but I have many memories watching Happy Days with him. He died in 1980, when I was 7, but at almost 50 years old I can distinctly still remember the sound of his voice! Westerns were the dominant genre of TV and movies from the 50's till the mid 70's. Blazing Saddles had a lot to do with ending its reign. When Tombstone came out when I was in my 20's I understood exactly why he loved westerns!

The old rancher that put them up for the night at the end is a cameo appearance by Charlton Heston who is in my favorite two movies of all time, the original Ben Hur and 10 Commandments.

Bruh, I would give you a hug right now.......after this came out, it was one of the movies that my roommates and I watched CONSTANTLY, and that was before it started to get played on AMC and TNT and TBS every other day. Seen this about 30-50 times. It holds up SO WELL, you'll appreciate that even more in a few years. I once bonded with a new officemate over this movie. *Everyone* loses their mind over how great Val was in this. You take this movie and Heat, and Val has cemented his rep as a great actor; he steals just about every scene he's in, which says a lot, considering who all was on screen with him. Legend is 100% right.

The first bunch of times I saw this, I kept freaking out about all of the actors I knew. One of the bad guys was even in a movie my buddy and I *looooooved* in high school called North Shore. Interesting fact:
During the intro, when they showed that guy shooting the gun at the camera? That was from the 1903 silent film "The Great Train Robbery", what many consider to be the first movie to have an actual "plot". At the end, as a little cherry on top, the filmmakers had a guy aim and shoot a gun at the camera (blanks, of course). It was the first time audiences had seen something like that before on screen. Reportedly, A LOT of people ducked in the theater because they thought they might actually be getting shot at!
