Hi from Italy. The product arrived in approximately 1 month due to customs but it wasn't unexpected. I made the repair using only this video. I think the only casualty has been a little piece of plastic from the back cover that cracked (surely it would have been handled better by professionals) however now it seems to work again perfectly and I must thank you for your tutorial :)
Hi, Thank so much for your help. Ordered a new screen and digitizer. I manage to take the old phone apart, and put on the new screen. Unfortunately, the quality was very low. Could see the pixels, and had lines all over the screen. Filed a complaint with the shop where i ordered it, and got a new screen. I tested the screen before putting it in the phone and it was good quality. However, after putting it together, the quality went as bad as the first screen i ordered. The fault must be in the way i installed it, or I skipped some step along the way. Any clues? Thanks!
There are at least 2 errors in this video: 1) The battery is glued to the frame, you are most probably going to have to buy a new one after removing it because it bends. 2) if you remove the back without removing the sim card tray first you are going to break a thin plastic strip that sits between the tray and the frame. Removing the sim card tray is the first thing you have to do.
+Backup of fixez.com Maybe you should add an annotation saying this in the video. People should not have to get to the comments to find the answers to obviously missing information... Thanks a lot for misinforming me and now I have a broken phone AND a broken battery...
I just think it's common sense to remove anything that can be removed (eg. SIM cards, microSD cards, batteries etc) before starting ANY disassembly, and as to the battery - thanks ! I wasn't paying attention much ;p
I tore the ribbon cables to the display just slightly (between the strip that goes under the motherboard and the strips that go over it) by accident and the display isn't working at all. I did not yet remove the large back adhesive from the replacement digitizer but assembled it anyway since I'm purchasing adhesive for the sides. What do you think is the real problem? The very small tear on the ribbon or not removing the large adhesive yet?
I got a replacement screen from another source, and I'm kinda regretting I did. seems that you guys give you most/all the parts, I personally had to buy the parts with my source they only thing that they gave me was the actual screen. That said your video was awesome, solved all of my problems
Great video and great customer service. Word of caution to anyone trying it, because the back cover is also covered in glass be careful not to let it flex when prying it open or else it will shatter
Hey I transplanted my working nexus 4 motherboard which had a scratched up back and front into a brand new back and front. But now it wont boot past the nexus logo? :(
There are other videos showing how to separate the screen from the LCD and they seem to be very hard to do but yours look so easy. Also, when you separate the screen from the LCD there is no glue to remove, did you skip that part?
The replacement screen I got from FixEZ is flawless and just a great quality product. This video is super helpful. I completed my repair in roughly 30 minutes. However, here are four notes that might be useful to a future customer! 1. Most of the tools were great, except for the small philips head screwdriver. The tip was too flat and made it very difficult to fit into the small screws and twist without warping. I ended up using another small screwdriver my friend owns which has a much finer point. 2. Removing the back plate was more difficult than advertised, in the end it would have been much easier if the 4-5 plastic snapping points were made evident in the video. I made it work though! 3. I bought the version with the frame and was able to guess how to complete the repair, but another video including best practices for removing portions like the headphone/ambient sensor and dock connection assembly and power/volume buttons may be useful to customers of to LCD + frame product. 4. Secondly, my battery was held down firmly with adhesive. I suspect that the shop that previously repaired my screen may have applied the adhesive. Otherwise it seems to me there is another unseen variable. Thanks for everything though! For me this was the best option, and I've got a clean, working phone now.
Thanks to you I could change my LCD damaged and the back of my Nexus 4 more easily than I thought. But as noted by another reviewer, we must be careful with the volume buttons and on / off. If they leave the site, you must remove the plastic cover that covers the motherboard and place them back in place without forcing them. Be careful with that.
Hi, I have a question, I don't actually know what repair set I should buy, and maybe you guys can help me. I broke the screen of my N4 but the images are clean and the only thing that doesn't work is the touch-screen, do you have any suggestion on which set I should purchase?
I followed this video, it was really helpful! They only problem is that the back facing camera is not working. Neither the back facing camera nor the flash settings is showing up on the nexus 4 camera when I long press the screen. I went back and made sure the camera connection was connected. Suggestions?
Recommend you buy a new battery for around £8 as the old one is glued in and becomes fairly mangled when you prise it out, damaged Li-Po's can explode spectacularly :) I would also recommend taking out the sim tray first rather than last as its another obstacle to removing the back cover. Finally, my new screen came with a frame and bezel, there are some extra parts to switch to the new frame all off which can be teased out from the old screen, plenty of tiny parts such as two rubber parts on the top edge (1 grey and one black under the headphone jack) and the switch contacts down the sides, USB board at the bottom etc. Take your time, mine is now back up and all working. (I also tested all ports/buttons/mic/cameras/screen/touch before sticking the battery to the new frame)
Lance Whitesel Add a public comment... Thank you for this video. It helped me solve my problem and I love my Nexus 4. Still going strong after 7 years.
What's my nexus 4 problem. The notification bar horizontal doesn't work. That bit of the screen dont respond every other part of the screen works perfectly. The thickness of the notification bar that exact bit on the screen dont respond . even when I'm watching a movie or something
So....I had a bad situation here and am looking for some advice. I purchased the replacement screen, pulled the old screen-replaced it...and everything looked great. However: I mistakenly placed tap over the front facing camera. So, I had to re-pull the now working unit apart. As I did, the silver screen backing starting to pull away. I removed the tap, pushed down the silver backing and re-assembled. The phone boots-but no display. Suggestions? I've reassemble 3 times...
stripped a screw, had to take it to a grinder wheel, it was one of two that held the battery cable on. This had all the info you need to take it apart, ty. My screen replacement didn't come with any adhesive, so i gotta wait and order some now.
I'm probably going to get a new phone (hopefully, crossing my fingers) in about 5 or so months. The Nexus fell out of the car and and screen is cracked and not touch responsive anymore. Would it be worth repairing right now? ---For months now the soft touch buttons haven't been working. Any idea why? If I'm in landscape mode and the buttons are on the side of the "hearing side" they work. Also, great video. Super duper helpful.
Was this video done with the screen assembly which includes the frame? Or rather was this video done with the screen assembly which includes only the LCD and digitizer themselves?
The metal/foil cover on the right side of the two display assembly connectors: Is that necessary? I dont have one with my part and im troubleshooting why touch is still not responsive - even though the display comes on. Any thoughts?
I recently purchased the kit from your site, followed the instructions above but now half the screen is displaying and touch is not working (Left side of he screen shows my background, right side shows gray overlay. Touch is not working but the buttons are). Going to dissemble and try again, what should I look for to fix this issue?
The bottom right of my screen is a bit loose. You can push it down by a little bit. Is there a way to fix this without taking it apart? The glas itself is in great condition.
Hello, I have a nexus 4 and upper section of touch screen does not working. I wonder if I replace the screen, would it be working? the screen is fine and I did not drop it. Could you please let me know what parts do I need to fix the screen?
Hi I replaced the screen succesfully but see lines through the middle of the screen. How can I fix that? I ordered my replacement screen from Fixez. Is it possible to return if so how? Thanks ST
Hi, my nexus 4 screen just stopped working in a small part, is a thin line from side to side of the screen, I talked to some friends and they said I should change my digitizer, but I searched and found that I need to change the entire screen, as in the video, so you think this is the right thing to do. Thank you.
Hey Vitor! I'm having the same problem as you mentioned. A thin vertical line on the right side of my screen from top to bottom that's unresponsive and causes random 'ghost' touches and its pretty annoying. I could live with it if it didnt think I was touching it in random places. Did you replace the screen yourself and did it fix the issue? Thanks!
Hey, still not replaced the screen, I made a request by eBay, but takes too long to be delivered because I live in Brazil. I searched on TH-cam and on the Internet and I think the screen replacement solves the problem. But I can not say that will work 100% because I have not received mine.
Vitor, I'm willing to buy a screen from ebay as well and heard that some will not fit REALLY fine into the phone or that the display may not have the same quality as the original. Did you run into any problems? Do you remeber from which store you got it? thanks! (from br as well but it felt weird to ask in portuguese as someone might need the info as well kk)
Is it absolutely necessary to put the adhesive strips exactly as shown? Or can I "cut corners" and only apply the four big strips of two adhesive strips? The reason I ask is because cutting the exact size of those thin strips is very time consuming.
I recently followed this video for the fixing of my cracked Nexus screen. However on start up my phone is stuck in the booting process with the google circles. Is there anything I could have connected incorrectly during reconstruction of the phone?
Hey, my question is I ordered the screen digitizer and frame. While assembling everything I must have somehow lost a part of the power button that goes in place where the circuit board is. It's the one that's probably already on it, maybe I broke it by accident I don't know because I don't even remember what it looks like. But now when I put the screen back on the power button on the back frame doesn't work, it just sinks into the phone like there's a gap or something in it. Like you know when you press the power button you can actually feel it getting pressed, my power button just goes in to the phone, it doesn't press. Is there something I'm missing? and if yes can I get it from somewhere? or do I have to order a whole new digitizer and frame?
I dropped my nexus 4 in the morning today and there are 2 cracks spanning across the whole screen. Only a very minor part of the screen is responding to touch. The phone is working fine otherwise and I can even use the camera perfectly , but since I've put up a pattern lock i'm unable to unlock it, and I can't even swipe to answer calls , i'm getting calls and all notifications normally but I can't access them. Can this problem be solved by the solution you've given ? Thank you
I know this is kinda dumb, but I have 2 screws that just wont budge. One in the beginning with before you pop out the battery and another with the black frame on the motherboard. Any advice on taking these screws out without damaging the phone?
Thank you for the video! Touch screen worked when I turned on the phone again! I lost my exterior microphone nub thingy, couldn't find out what i did with it but otherwise the disassemble went well.
Great video. :) I broke my phone yesterday, the screen is smashed, but the LCD still works. However, all touch functionality is lost. Will this procedure fix the touch screen? I guess so, but I'd like to be 100% sure. :)
I bought replacement parts from your website and the touch wasn't responding correctly and only did if it was held a certain way. I don't know if it was because of a faulty part or something i did wrong when i followed these steps exactly please help.
I just assembled my new Nexus screen and frame. However, the screen sensor still isn't working properly. I read below of someone using two fingers on the phone and tried that. It responded slightly, but wasn't able to do anything. Help!? Also, the philip's screw driver was pretty awful. Went ahead and bought a Husky 8 in 1 phillips screw driver for $6 from home depot and it worked like a charm!
Hello. I replaced the screen on my Nexus 4, however all Im getting now is the google start-up page, the 4 different coloured circles that move around. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
It looks like you don't need to disassemble the motherboard, speakersassembly and the battery to replace the screen. Is there a reason why you remove those parts?
So, I attached my screen and there is a black/grey-ish vertical bar that is blocking my view on the left side of the LCD. I opened it back up and re-checked the connections and didn't see anything amiss....thoughts?
Hi I followed these instructions and everything went well for 2 days but then all of a sudden it started pressing things on the screen by its self. I replaced it a couple months ago and over the course of time the issue died down but within the last week or so it flared up again really bad and I can barely do anything what could the issue be?
my nexus 4 touch screen isn't responding. The top part is fine but the botton part isn't responding to touch at all. how much do u think it would cost me to take it to a repairing place? Please let me know asap. I wish I have such skill as you but unfortunately not. So all i can worry about is how much it would cost me to take it to a cell phone repair place.
Hello, my nexus4 fell and the screen is cracked. everything seems to be working in the phone, it is ringing, i see notifications of messages, wasup, etc arriving but the touchscreen is not answering anymore. i cannot enter my password or to answer a call. 1. can this be repaired? 2. i see two products for replacing the screen a) the LG Nexus 4 E960 Display Assembly (LCD & Touch Screen) and b) the LG Nexus 4 E960 LCD & Touch Screen Digitizer with Frame…what is the difference? ..Thank you in advance for your answer!
Having changed the battery before, it does not come off as easily as shown in the video so you have to be *patient* so as to minimize bending. The battery is malleable which surprised me!
does the power button flex of lg optimus G f180k and nexus 4 are same?!... because the build of those to phones are almost the same.... thank you sir and sorry for my bad english... :)
So, got the screen+frame replacement and it works (fyi, philips screwdriver that I got from you guys was worthless, everything else was awesome), except now I have no audio whatsoever. Triple checked all connections. I just can't win.
***** I am having a really hard time removing the speaker. I tried to lever on the same spot as you did, but only that part is lifting. I have removed both screws, but it seems like it is attached in the area around the micro-usb port.
Hi why is it necessary to remove the battery, motherboard and some components? It looks as if it's possible to thread the ribbon through and connect it straight to the motherboard without removing all those parts.
It seems that I accidentally broke off the part you connect the terminal to when I unhooked the terminal in the beginning. So now I can't actually connect the battery to the phone. Not sure what to do.
I'm trying to decide if this is what I need to fix my phone. I just took my protective cover off the glass on my phone and now I understand why it was on there! My screen is cracked and only the half above the crack works when I touch it. I am unable to even put my password in to open it. Will this kit fix the problem?
The glass on my phone is in perfect condition but I have 'dead zones' as far as the touch screen functionality. I'm not confident in my ability (or lack thereof) to repair my own phone. Do you have an idea of what the issue might be and any resources for having it repaired locally? I'm in the San Diego area. Thank you!
I bought a replacement screen from Fixez and (thought I) correctly replaced it. The screen and (more importantly) the digitizer work, however, the screen still has display problems. It looks like an old style film silhouette when booting up and any high contrast areas leave vertical shadows. So, something is still wrong. Any ideas what I might have done wrong? Or is it possible that I received a bad screen?
***** My daughter, regardless of how many times I warned her, kept putting her phone in her back pocket and eventually shattered the screen. I've already contacted your tech support folks who tried to tell me to reinstall the OS so that it can detect a hardware change. Not knowing any better, I'd try that except that the screen also exhibits the silhouetting even when I go to the bootloader before the OS even has a chance to boot; so I don't see how it can be OS related.
I got a crack in the bottom right of my nexus 4 phone and now that part of the touch screen is not working do I need to replace anything besides the screen

Just started this and the plastic removal tool promptly disintegrated and the back cover seems permanently affixed to the front, it's not even budging.
Is it worth to replace screen? If it is done by professional, does phone will work properly? How will phone respond after getting repaired from skilled person?
Hi, I purchased this replacement screen for my nexus 4 and everything went smoothly. I installed it and it all worked fine. Then after turning it on and off a few times, I am having weird issues. Sometimes when I reboot it, everything works fine, other times after a reboot, the touch screen only works if I have two fingers on the screen at a time. For example, if I want to click the home button, I need to have one finger at some other point on the screen, and then with another finger I can click the home button and it will work. But if I just click the home button with the one finger it will not work. What am I missing? Is this a defective screen? Thanks,
As an added description, it is the same as the problem described here ... forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/320879-nexus-4-screen-problems-please-help.html. The problem I have is that sometimes after a reboot it works correctly, other times, it only works with two fingers.
***** I had tried resetting it several times, and sometimes it worked, other times it did not. In the end, I left it off overnight and then when I tried it in the morning, it seemed to work every time. So problem fixed, thanks!
+Γιάννης Τζορουχίδης Yes, we offer worldwide shipping. Feel free to review the items on our site and you can view an estimated shipment cost before completing your purchase.
Since the nexus 4 is based on the optimus g that has LTE , the n4 has a LTE antenna ( band 4 only), but hasnt passes certification to actually market as an LTE device. So the second connector is probably for a LTE amplifier. Something the n4 would need to support more LTE bands. It isbthe unused connector from the optimus g. But that is just my honest opinion!
If you are just removing the screen... why take out the logic board and everything else? Cant you just detach the screen cable from the board and then remove the screen as u did in this video? Doesnt seem like its needed to remove the board or anything else at all, unless im missing something?
uh quick question... I'd love a fast response from anyone.. in removing my battery the strong adhesive created a tear in the aluminum layer underneath... is it still safe to use or am I up a creek and have to buy a new battery too?
Thanks for the reply. Do fat it's been on and in a normal temp range. Stupid how strong that adhesive is and it's not like this is my first phone repair either, but first battery damage.

I broke my phone yesterday, the screen is smashed, but the LCD still works.
Do you guys ship to Belgium?
How long does it take to ship to the UK?
my nexus 4 touch screen isn't responding.
So if I buy the LCD & Touch Screen Digitizer with Frame the only thing i have to do is removing the inner parts and put it on the new frame?
How do i get the headphone jack and antenna to the new frame?
***** I'm soon going to replace my nexus 4 screen how thick should the adhesive tape be?
I'm trying to decide if this is what I need to fix my phone. I just took my protective cover off the glass on my phone and now I understand why it was on there! My screen is cracked and only the half above the crack works when I touch it. I am unable to even put my password in to open it. Will this kit fix the problem?
erh sir where did you get the new screen from fast bec i dont trust ebay or other websites like them
Every now and then the screen is unresponsive I have to do a soft reset in order for it to work any ideas as to why this is happening .
Thank you!
***** Yes, it is. I've had the same phone with all original components for two years :)
Great video 👍🏻
I got a crack in the bottom right of my nexus 4 phone and now that part of the touch screen is not working do I need to replace anything besides the screen

how do you rate this fix on 1 to 10 scale with 1 being easiest?
Just started this and the plastic removal tool promptly disintegrated and the back cover seems permanently affixed to the front, it's not even budging.
Just snapped the second removal tool, this video is less than accurate.
can I send my phone to you to be fixed? what would that cost? I have the same phone and same problem.
Hi, do I need to use a heat gun or a hair drier would do ?
If I buy the Screen + Frame, would I still need a heat gun and adhesive strips ?
***** in that case, what about the remaining parts that you haven't removed ? are they easy to remove ?
do you have written instructions anywhere?
one of the most beautiful phones
i can't wait to fix this! brilliant tutorial! hopefully it pays out
Is it worth to replace screen?
I suggest to anyone following these steps to remove the SIM card tray as first step. I damaged mine when removing the back cover.
+Olivier Melançon Thank you for the feedback.
Can I order an lcd and digitizer for Greece/Alexandroupoli ? ( From your website )

screen does not comes off after screwing out the two screws and putting out the sim tray. what to do?
Awesome video, perfect instructions!
Hey. If I do this screen repair on mine, will I lose any data stored on my phone?
***** what about my whatsapp data and applications on the phone will they just turn on as normal?
why there are 2 antenna connectors on the motherboard? I wonder what is the function of the other one..
But that is just my honest opinion!
hey there I have just a screen it only has one prong thing that connects to the phone how do I put this together I need help
Its the single thin glass screen
My screen isn't cracked or anything but some part of the touch screen is unresponsive (mostly the left side) what do I do?
what do you do if you have a screw that will not come out?
In my nexus 4 I replaced screen,
It worked for a while,
but trying to fix proximity sensor after put back screen is white.
What I have to do?
Tks!
Can I change this cable only or whole screen?
Is removing the battery really necessary?
If you are just removing the screen... why take out the logic board and everything else? Cant you just detach the screen cable from the board and then remove the screen as u did in this video? Doesnt seem like its needed to remove the board or anything else at all, unless im missing something?
Maybe to avoid damaging all the other components. I'm not sure, just my guess.
Mister X damaging them with the heat
i think the components can certainly take the heat, if the lcd can, the motherboard certainly can
RIght good point. Well I just ordered the screen with the frame so I'll have to take everything out anyway. We'll see how it goes.
Thank you so much for your help!
Is this Gorilla Glass or a generic glass? Knowing will not prevent me from purchasing... just wanted to know so I can throw a screen protector on it.
uh quick question...
I just broke my screen today is there a pack I can order that has everything already in the order
