    Great video. I ordered a screen and tool kit. They forgot to include the adhesive but an email to the support team got some sent to me right away. Great customer service. I watched a few videos and this is by far the easiest to follow and did the trick removing a minimum of parts. It was actually faster and easier than i had anticipated. Well done!

    Just finished this repair on my wife's phone. No problems and turned out great. I bought the replacement screen from fixez as well. Great quality and great video. Thanks again.

    I don't normally comment on these kind of things...but seriously, best instructions for replacing your screen, hands down. Saved me a good 300$.

    Another successful G Pro screen replacement. $90 bucks saved. You guys rock!
    The most tedious part was cutting and placing the double sided adhesive. Figure out how to sell that pre-molded and your golden....I'd pay an extra $10 just for the convenience.
    Thanks fixez!

    looks very straightforward. if I would have any suggestions - might be helpful to offer any tips on making sure replacement screen/digitizer is perfectly aligned. Otherwise your instructions were clear with out distracting unnecessary jargon. Also, do you know if the phone has a screen calibration utility?
    Well that all said before I attempt my replacement. Hopefully my replacement goes just as smooth.

    Thanks so much for this! I just fixed mine. I had 12 screws for some reason rather than 14 but I worked it out. I wouldn't have attempted it if not for this video, you explain it really well. I was quoted £140 to get it repaired by a shop, ended up spending £16

    Between the video and the PDF instructions (good for identifying certain parts), it was much easier than I thought. I would pay an addition $5 for pre-cut double-sided tape! However, my back button doesn't work now. Everything else is fine. I emailed support last night and will hopefully hear from them soon.

    Excellent, I was able to replace my screen with tools I had, using the video. Used two sided tape (score tape) and exacto knife. Loved being able to pause video when needed. Total time 1hr, add to reopen because no sound, my bad I had left the small Mylar lodged in between the speaker and sound bd. Easy fix. Insurance wanted $157.00 to replace phone, faceplate cover $30. THANK YOU!!!

      did you have any air bubbles like the one on the video and if not what is the best way to keep the bubble out

    • @terithomas7676
      @terithomas7676 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I did not have bubbles. I cut my own template from double side tape, probably would have been quicker with tape from fixez.com. Score Tape has a very strong bond and once i pressed LCD to face plate the seal was excellent.

    I just replaced my cracked screen on my LG Optimus G pro using this video as a guide and the parts I ordered from fixex.com. I've done this before and it worked fine but this time my phone won't turn on after replacing the screen. The home button lights up, the charging screen come up when I plug it in but the power button seems to be broken, it won't turn my phone back on. We took the buttons out already and put them back again. Any advice on what may have went wrong or how to fix this? Thanks

    hello fixez, why did you choose to apply adhesive strips instead of a liquid adhesive (LOCA) on the LCD ?

  • @DanRPryor
    @DanRPryor 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    First I want to say thank you for this video. I ended up buying some tools and the 2 sided tape from you. The fix was successful but for some reason the external speaker is not working (no ringing, no notification sounds, no sound when playing video's, etc.) I did check the phone settings to make sure they weren't set to silent. I opened it up and rechecked all my connections. I don't know what I could have done. Any suggestions or thoughts what could have caused this?

    • @DanRPryor
      @DanRPryor 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just an update in case anyone else has a similar problem. For some reason the connection from the speaker to the motherboard was not seating properly. Not sure why, the motherboard was proper as was the speaker. ended up putting a small piece of foam behind the connection on the speaker so it would have a tighter connection. This worked.

    Can you give any advice how to remove stubborn small screws in the back after taking out the battery? I have the smallest screwdrivers I can find (Phillips and Torx) but a few screws come out and the others won't budge/catch on the screwdriver at all. Maybe the heads are too scratched up. Is there any trick around this? I was thinking something drastic like a drip of superglue to attach the screw to the screwdriver and then turn the screwdriver. Thanks for your help!

  • @mdoc7

    One question: I left fingerprints on the LCD after removing the cracked screen cover. What cleaning agent would you use on the display to remove fingerprints? I already used a fiber cloth used for eyeglasses; wasn't good enough, so I need to use a cleaning agent.

    I was almost done installing the new screen for my LG Optimus Pro, but I ended up damaging the ribbon cable on the new screen, as I was inserting it through the slot on the frame. It turned out I had a bit more adhesive and it was closing a part of the hole. The extra adhesive ended up cutting a corner of the ribbon cable on the new screen. I don't want to finish it and find out that it doesn't work. I hope you can help me out.
    Cutting the adhesive to precision is the hardest part. Otherwise, the instructions in this video are very clear.

    okay I have a weird problem. I followed the video and when I put the plastic cover (with the 3 buttons) in, I tested it and my phone worked. Then I put all the screws back in place and now the phone won't turn on. I took the screws out again and it works fine, put them back in and no power. Whats going on?
    I turned in on without any screws, then installed each screw one by one to see what happens, but diddn't notice any pattern.
    Right now i'm using my phone without any screws lol but i really would like to have them in place. Any suggestions?

    Got everything back together but now when I receive a call the screen goes blank? Online forums talk about the proximity sensor. I made sure it's not blocked by adhesive but not sure what else to try. TYVM.

    hello,i just gave my phone to a service center for replacing digitizer and they broke my lcd during the process. they say their is always 50% to break and its common,where as i have seen no mention of such possibilities anywhere on internet. what could be the reason that my lcd broke, the service center is big so i dont think they keep inexperienced people there. please give your opinion

    thank you for the help, although, it would make more sense to leave the film on the adhesive before you attempt to clean the LCD. and you didn't say anything about the ear speaker screen that protects from dust entering the hole...now my new screen doesn't have that screen. Oh well. not that serious of an issue. Overall--nicely done.

    Don't you have to bond the glass with the LCD using some loca glue? I have a friend who wants to attempt this repair and I'm trying to save him any trouble. I repaired my Note 2 a while back and had to take it apart because none of the repair videos I followed were bonding the glass to the LCD. They would just use the adhesives on the side like in this guide. I would get ugly bubbles when I pressed the screen so I had to redo it and bond with the loca glue. Everything is all good now. So will the Pro have the same issue without loca? The original screen did look bonded with loca when it was removed here.

    hello I have a question
    My screen is cracked, but I can still touch things in the cracked areas. So all I have to worry about the is the glass right? not the LCD?

      +MghUnit407 Correct. The benefit here is the LCD is not fused, you can replace just the touch screen. www.fixez.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=optimus+g+pro
