@@UkuleleWineTime Of course I watched! And yes, it was goooooood! The only thing I'm having trouble w/ is going into the 2nd verse, where it goes from E7 to F to C...incorporating the F into it is proving difficult for me for some reason, like it's extra, out of place in relation to the 1st verse (Am, G, F, G, E7sus, E7) and the 2nd verse (C, E7, Am, F, E7sus, E7). I'll get it eventually.
Interesting. I recently started playing music. And a ukulele for me is so easy. In my humble opinion, this accompaniment has immersing chord sequence, but it makes a persistent feeling of uncertainty. E7 and E7SUS. Melancholy covers me. I will play this song. Maybe in the wine time.
I loved your comment so much. Very happy you are playing music and enjoying the ukulele. Some chord sounds do indeed induce melancholy feelings, part of the beauty of it all. Wine totally not necessary, but enjoy it if you like! Cheers! 😊🎵
Wonderful! Thanks! A good friend of mine just requested this song. It's a good key for me. I think a higher key would feature your beautiful voice better. But, you did right for your people!!! I totally dig the hat! 🦋
@@UkuleleWineTime That's a rare thing! I'm The Queen 👑 of on the fly transposing. I'm a contralto. Not easy for most Covers. So, I write my own. This one works. I wish I still had my flute. Thanks again! The background is pretty too! I really like the colors. 🦋
So awesome that you are transposing - once you understand how to transpose, it opens up so many possibilities! I'm a huge believer of finding the right key for your voice. I dig lower voices too - mine is getting lower as I get older and I don't mind it at all. Yes to flute!! Were you a band kid? I played clarinet in band. ☺🎵
I enjoyed the playing and singing. I started out just one stroke on each chord and then started playing the island strum which seemed to fit OK. I'll leave the more difficult strum for the future. I wonder if trying the rhythm on muted strings might work better than memorizing a string of ups and downs? A big thank you, Kathryn.
Hey Mike - glad you enjoyed this one! Yes, you can work up to the more complicated rhythm. Keep building your strong foundation of rhythm! Trying it out on muted strings or just open strings, is a great idea. You'll get there!
Ironically I am drinking VERY little alcohol these days....! I do find when I have a glass of wine I am able to speak Spanish or Portuguese better, but yes, I can totally see that for music/ukulele. Wine definitely NOT required to play ukulele!! 😉
Hi - Yes, I made a little video for the intro here: www.patreon.com/posts/california-how-89520684 It's only available to my Patrons, if I can figure out how to share it with you I'd be happy to!
It's coming!! In my summer pause, this is one of the things that was left unfinished. I have a lot of folks asking - I will post when it's available. Thanks Eliza!
