  • Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) - U.S. Army training film covering all aspects of ADF navigation; equipment familiarization, tuning and identifying a station, Relative Bearing, Magnetic Bearing, homing, intercept and tracking, holding, NDB approach.. Filmed near Cairns Army Airfield, Ft. Rucker, Alabama, using a Dehaviland DHC-2 Beaver. The film includes an NDB instrument approach to Runway 6 at Cairns. Compare it to the current NDB RWY 6 approach into Cairns.

    Went through the whole video, It's common sense and elementary school maths who would have known It's easier than filing tax or microsoft windows. Most people could fly an airplane with ADF.

    One very important glitch which was not mentioned by the narrator, was that yet another problem in using commercial AM BC stations, is that there are more than one station on most AM frequencies, and if two are somewhat near the same strength, this can give erroneous results
