I was just wondering how many cells there were and now I know. Need to up my charge voltage because I was only using 12.8v. Charged voltage should be 14.4v or 15v if you want to fully charge them. My original charger broke so did not know the charge voltage. Thanks again.

thanks for showing how to crack this old type open. most of the batteries out there today have screws. do you have any info on the cylinder batteries, can you even get them today or can the battery be rebuild for lithium - ion ?

I think the lithium-ion batteries not applicable because the lithium-ion batteries must charging cell by cell with a balance charger! Have a nice day!

It's the worst method to open the battery casing the worst one.refer to your method I destroyed my battery while you can open the battery casing by tapping the edges by hammer easily until it get open.

It's easy take a wooden or plastic hammer if available to avoid the scratch casing if not use regular hammer but wrapping the casing into a cloth then hammering the edge,s where both parts cover each other after a while you will see a gap use a screwdriver to make this gap all around the battery then continue with hammering ((if u could use some paint thinner on casing and let it be for 30 minutes before hammering will be great it's make ur job much easier )) I will post a video later and let you know the link
