Fry isn't actually made by the false folds. It's made by an aperiodic cycle of the true chords. The tecnique you're talking about is called kargyraa.

Kagyraa or growl depending on how you do it. If you just use that harsh throat growl to make bass heavy pitches, it’s a growl, and between that and inhale those are the techniques that allow for the lowest pitchers (I can get F0 and I’m a baritone, false cord work isn’t as dependent on true vocal range)

alot of people accuse me of fry when they hear me sing a projected B1 when i swear to god it's not fry. ( iam a tenor with a light timbre) then they hear me speak and its like wtf because then i suddenly can only produce a quiet C#2 if even D2. but then the next day i will literally comfortably speak in a loud C#2 / C2 and have a Bb1 and my entire timbre changes to darker and fuller.
please explain what is going on.

Nice explanation! I would love a second part exploring the in betweens and fried chest! Your chest fry sounds q bit to fryed, but it’s probably because you are going for projection rather than warmth, I can actually have to distinct chest fry mix settings and the more chesty one, I can transition from chest with almost no shift or change. And then I have a pretty full and warm fried chest but my lowest is a quiet G1 :/

I enjoyed this video and it is refreshing to see someone speak about this and not condemn it like others. Chest voice I can get to an F1 on any given day. G1 is my fav chest note. E1 on a very good day. I can fry unusually low though. Lowest recently was C-3 and C-2. I will get back to posting videos and post those clips. On any given day I can fry to a B-1. I found that D0 is about as low as you can get in fry and keep a decent musical resonance to the note. Notes like the C-2 and C-3 sound like a heart beat. Anything lower and the beats become too infrequent and sound weird. I personally don't like subharmonics. The lowest I can go with it is C1 but it is something I just personally don't like.

I usually use sub-harmonics in most scenarios... vocal Fry is what I use to hit my absolute lowest register when I’m in choir and want to shake things up during a concert.
    My chest register: Eb4-G1
    Chest-Fry: F#1-A0
    Vocal Fry: Ab0-F#-1
I am a definite bass voice... my chest range is heavy and my fry register has caused speakers to fizzle out momentarily.

How to sing in head dominant mix?

    • @evansbat
      @evansbat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Mixed Voice can be broken into two categories Chest Dominant and Head Dominant. It will have a lighter and airy sound like Head Voice, but will still be supported and full like Chest Voice. It will be at the top of your transition from Mixed Voice into Head Voice: Chest - Mixed - Head - Falsetto. Work on bridging the gap between those three registers.

Hey thank you!! Yeah it’s quite possible that you have it positioned wrong in your throat or just are doing it wrong entirely. Trying naturally sliding from chest into fry and you’ll hear where the two registers mix. That point is chest-fry/fried chest. I’m planning to also make another video talking about/explaining the difference between fried chest vs. chest-fry mix...hopefully within the next day or two.

Actually there are more classifications then that. The parentheses is the general chest range and the inside of the parentheses is the tessitura or comfortable range. The range in which a given type of voice presents its best-sounding (or characteristic) timbre. This broad definition is often interpreted to refer specifically to the pitch range that most frequently occurs within a given part of a musical piece. However, the tessitura of a part or voice is not decided by the extremes of their range, but rather by which share of this total range is most used.
      Countertenor: (C3)E3-E5(G5)
      High Tenor: (B2)D3-D5(F5)
      Tenor: (A2)C3-C5(Eb5)
      Low Tenor: (G#2)B2-B4(D5)
      Baritenor: (G2)Bb2-Bb4(C#5)
      High Baritone: (F2)A2-A4(B4)
      Baritone: (E2)G#2-G#4(Bb4)
      Low Baritone: (D2)G2-G4(A4)
      Bass-Baritone: (C2)F#2-F#4(G#4)
      Bass: (B1)E2-E4(G4)
      Basso Profundo: (A1)C2-C4(E4)

If your talking voice is below E2 in the day, you are a bass. But the voice that you get when you awake in the morning doesnt count, i was thinking that im a bass because of that morning voice, but i learned that it doesnt mean that you are bass because that you have a bass vocal range or you are talking at E2 note in the morning.
When i awake, i became bass for 1 or 2 hours, my talking voice becames D2-E2 in the morning but 2 hours later, it turns to F2-C3. I really like that deep talking, i wish that i can talk at that note everyday but it just goes away.
For now, im a low baritone. My vocal range is D2-A4, but if i want to sing with comfortly, it becames E2-D4. But 2 months ago, my vocal range was between F2-C4. I gained some notes with just normal singing (Im singing a bit louder than talking voice because i live in a apartment lol). I hit C2 just twice, i hope that i will gain that note too.

I think you have my same range and you're not a true bass, I think you are a bass-baritone. It's something in the middle between the bass singer and the dramatic Baritone. A regular bass have more power on the low notes and you don't have that kind of low voice. You're still bass but specifically bass-baritone.

@@evansbat You definitely have a lower voice. Your voice is totally capable of singing bass.( on-mic or off mic in choir).Infact your voice( Not the range itself ) is as low as many acapella bass singers. You're not quite a true bass or true bass baritone more like a lower baritone( still quite a low voice). Though that doesnt matter, as if you can sing bass well, no issues identifying as a bass.

But I don´t think you will be able to, you already started frying your voice in C2, and you didn´t really reach D#2 until you tried to sing D2.
